While the mission table has had its uses, especially for making some extra gold, I'll be happy to see it gone. Mostly for one reason: this feature has eaten way too much time over the years, time spent in game, not really playing the game. It has become a daily chore before starting to do something interesting - and it has been like this since WoD.I for one will enjoy playing the game more instead of clicking missions (or have addons help me with that). There will be other ways to earn rewards and gold, I'm sure.
I'd honestly be okay with this because I used more anima healing units than starting missions. And that's kind of bad when so many great rewards have a hefty price tag.
Bah, I loved it. Sad, they remove good features every expansion. 1st Brawler's Guild and now Mission Table. :(
It will just be called something else.
This kind of sucks, with the mission table printing ~400k a month for me just for logging in on my alts I was able to skip guild carry runs but it looks like it's back to selling boosts for dragonflight, which is the real culprit here in my opinion.Anyone that thinks mission tables are responsible for things like legendaries costing 200k+ gold at various points throughout the expansion are clueless to where all the gold is coming from/going to. As long as people are buying mythic raid funnels for several million gold on their alt army (that they're probably RMTing on other sites after) and funding it via tokens, the economy will continue its current trajectory. The only thing removing mission tables does is push even more people into the token/rmt/boosting game. Unless you want to camp the AH on a second account and cancel-scan your life away, your only viable options include things like picking herbs/ore mindlessly for ~10k g/hr or participating in paid boosts for several hundred-thousand gold an hour, if not more. The upcoming profession rework in DF could change things but historically it's not really worth spending time on professions beyond the first few weeks of a tier because things like bots and AH whales essentially control the market and you're reduced to cancel-scanning wars that you won't win in the long-run because you're competing with bots and no-lifers with gold-cap multiple times over. They'll run at a loss and bleed you dry in a few days if that's what it takes.
Good riddance. Thanks bliz!
Its fine that people stop using it near end of expansion because its implemented as a hook early exp for something to do when you're not doing the multitude of other things early on when the Xpac is new and fresh. Dragonflight is looking cool however losing systems to focus of "exploration" as their main hook will fall on its face real damn fast. Exploration works when the world is as big as the entirety of current WoW but a single new continant will be done exploring in 2-4 weeks.
One less chore ! Good news
Elune be praised!
Good. Shadow Lands mission table was utter rubbish anyway.
Thank God! I still don't have a max level champion (I did take a long break from the game, but still). The missions were overtuned this expansion. They nerfed the rep rewards hard again. Beside the mounts, the rewards were not worth it for me.
The shadowlands mission table was the worst, most convoluted and imbalanced version of the mission table we had ever seen and already, in the first 5 comments on this page, I see two people saying they specifically liked the shadowlands version. What the actual...Good riddance to the table. Since its inception it's either been overpowered and has enable addicts to create and log into 40+ alts every single day to amass insanely large amounts of gold and cause mass inflation to the market, or has been so underpowered that 95% of players ignored it outright. It has NEVER added interactivity to the game past slotting a few icons into some circles and pressing a button, leaving or logging out, and then coming back hours later to collect rewards you really didn't earn. They adding this type of mission table content to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and it was the worst part of an otherwise really great jrpg. I am told this sort of content is running amok in many cash grab mobile games, so the further Blizzard can get away from this kind of content in WoW, the better, I say.Less automation of gameplay in an MMORPG is only a good thing, imo. Whether you enjoyed the table missions or not is neither here nor there. They are just unhealthy for the game and shouldn't have been added to it in the first place because the entire gameplay loop around them is single player, afk gameplay.
Honestly missed how good these were in WoD and Legion for making gold. Then you had kids complain on the general discussion forums and now we're left with missions that give 56g. Such a waste
Why are %^&*!@s in the comments talking like this is mandatory? It was a fun minigame that gave me tons of Augment Runes and gold, how can you complain about that? @#$%ing bums
Yes! I've hated that stupid system from the start. Glad to see that, at least for now, we're not getting another repeat.
