How about an Argent Tournament 2.0 with some new mounts and quests for Argent Crusade, Silver Covenant and Sunreaver factions.
Rann, you are massively ignorant of the story here.1) We're talking Dalaran here, this whole Bishop thing is just a side argument to derail the real discussion.2) Other Blood Elf traitors? How about the one who opened the Elfgates for Arthas? And the ones who opened the gates of Theramore? and then the Bell? Three separate ones.3) The Sunreavers did something they knew was wrong - they showed that in the 6.2 cutscene with Taran Zhu, the Kirin Tor and the Sunreavers. When Proudmoore brought up the betrayal, Aethas was shuffling uncomfortably - he probably hadn't told Lor'themar and it was being brought out. If they didn't want to get kicked out of Dalaran he should have not offered to do it for Garrosh.
Suggestion to Feasel (part 1)Well Dalaran is a tiny place, I sincerly hope that the city will be 10 times the size we see in Wotlk.Expand it to a point we can place our Legion Garrison in it but with some modifications: Townhalll = a tower with several portals for each floors + 3 neighbor towers joined by ethereal cables for garrison specialisations_ herbal garden, also a creepy basement+ subloors for mining and acces to a rogue guild to send followers on stealhy missions against rich wizards, and to bounty hunt prisoners escaping from the violet hold . Shipyards mission will still be in function but controlled by void elementals down bellow Dalaran , (shipyards bellow and air supremacy missions at the tower levels). You will have some mission involving stealling from the horde base in Dalaran if your an ally. Some buildings in Dalaran will have garrison trader inside them so you can do your professions queues much like in Wod garrisons(but you won't be cut from the community). Make large areas to defend for the Legion Garrison/Boss invasions for exanple: violet hold invasion, sewers invasion, flying demons invasion up above.I Would like to see some "ability trials + beat the timer" envolving choppers jumping on rooftops or rings to pass your flying broom into, much like in Darkmoon fair.Goren infestations in the sewers will be an headache and will jeapardize Dalaran and the towers stability, 5000 tooth will give you the "enormous one-eyed goren mount" ( goren is a wheel with a ethereal saddle on top)Each saturday morning there will be a gluton competition first part is to fish some liveroil and other old potion left at the bottom of the sea(pepermint algae). Depending on the menu, what you will fish will help you eat more or less without puking and losing the competition. 1st price=POT OF GOLD in inv= +10% gold gained from any loot or missions AND -10% price reduction , 2nd price winner = neck: cuts your ears Belf/Nelf to human size or augment or reduce 1/3 your size = buff:augment 10% xp (even pet battles) 3rd price "the chili sausage belt" = Garlic surounds you and prevent the next killing blow cd 1/20 min (coz you stink) OR you smell attract enormous fish +50 fishing + 20% chance of catching lunkers. 4th price "A boot to the head" you don't like an npc or a raid boss? trow him a boot! ( tradable)
Dalaran was the best, most Easter-egg filled, beautiful city and I can't wait for it to be revamped. Hopefully they do a good job on the redo.
I managed to get out of that hole with a Gnomish Gravity Well and the help of the Horde's guard mages. :P
To RankkorYou make many good points. And i concede that i did not conclude the Horde side of the questline (believe I got about halfway through) so my knowledge of the extent of the treatment the Sunreavers received was flawed. But when calling attention to organizations such as the Church of the Light and the betrayals of Benedictus and the Black Bishop you seem set on assuming I view them differently. I do not. I WOULD condone harsher investigation to root out Benedictus' followers. I assume in-game storytelling limitations to be the reason we don't see such investigations taking place (otherwise what's the use of SI:7?), but one can apply the same argument to the Sunreavers, I suppose. It's just as likely Aethas DID at least try to do some investigation, especially considering what you mentioned about his involvement.Your point about their resistance due to their past with Garithos is also quite valid.I find many of your examples and citations to be quite invalid to the subject, but that naturally does not detract from your main points. (By the way, Felsong is not only invalid but also a rather recent spoiler. I myself didn't get that far yet, so thanks for that.)I still approve Jaina's intentions and understand her motivations, but it does seem her methods were more careless than i first thought. Almost the same way I feel about Arthas and the Purge of Stratholme, really. Dangerous path. The wonders of intelligent and respectful discussion of the internet sure are too often overlooked. My opinions are swayed and shall thus be reevaluated. I shall try to finish that questline to get a better view of what happened.
I'd love to see a new fishing-fountain, but slightly bigger so it wont be amazingly overcrowded.I love little things that adds flavor, like the fountain, sewers, Violet Hold-area, the achievement for reading all the books etc.
/I/ wanna see an actual pub/bar in Dalaran. One with a dwarf. A pub/bar ain't a pub/bar without a dwarf
The tunnel that led to a sheer drop out of the sewers!
Indeed, while Jaina might have been an acceptable leader before the fall of Theramore, she has since been far too imbalanced to head such a delicately neutral organization such as the Kirin Tor. Her reputation as a diplomat made people ignore the naturally affected state of someone who got her city nuked. It was the worst moment possible to put her in such a position.I still do not expect a memorial in a main area, but one in the Sunreaver square is VERY likely, i'd say.I honestly hope Blizzard's mention of Jaina "doing something stupid" I think they said, doesn't go overboard. While no one wants her to go back in the "plot dungeon" where Blizz leaves characters and organizations for ages, she should probably be left aside for a bit to get her head in order. Characters being villainized by the chaos around them is too common a theme by now. If my guesses about Sylvanas' involvement in Legion are correct, they'll try to bring her back to her previous balanced state of "questionable actions but not outright evil" too. (as much as I'd like to have the Ebon Blade lop her head off, this is fine too, i guess ;P )
I'd love to have a vendor that lets us swap our Quel'delar for another weapon from the questline. I picked the 1H Quel'delar on my paladin, but I want the 2H version. Sadly GM's won't let me swap, so i'm hoping they add a vendor to new Dalaran that'll let me. Quel'delar was afterall quite tied in to Dalaran, you spent a lot of the questline there, I just think it'd be nice to be able to get the 2H Quel'delar after all this time.
I know one thing we should NOT see in the new version of Dalaran. Rhonin. And I strongly doubt Vereesa and Aethus will be standing so close together. Jaina should be there.
So, the Horde, following the Horde leader, attacked Jaina Proudmore's home and an Alliance city, killing thousands, dropped a bomb on the city, utterly wiping them out of existence, and to prevent *further* atrocities, Horde members were kicked out of Dalaran, and those who fought back or didn't surrender themselves were were purged. ... And you want a memorial for the *HORDE*?Did Theremore or Rhonin get a memorial? How about Kinnidy?
Great guide:)...Love THIS town...it's like a little Vegas lol
