We can never have a complete victory for either faction, as long as both are playable factions. So i don’t really see the point of a faction war...
Wasn’t in my goody bag....
OMG ! I need more now ! lol
I don't think it will ever get to the actual full-scale Alliance v. Horde war. Both sides are probably preparing for the conflict with each other (I am pretty sure Genn won't let Broken Shore go), but then the "Storm" hits (N'Zoth rears his ugly head, C'thun reawakens because of the Titan blood in Silithus, Azshara returns, Nozdormu goes crazy, Wrathion... does what Wrathion does, etc.), and those very forces are turned around to face a new threat.
HYPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Poor forsaken :(
Christie Golden is one of my favourite writers so I am really excited for this book. I haven't read the "sampler spoiler" yet because, well, I don't want any spoilers.
Actually, this so called "war" between factions lasted for so long, since we can move back to the past. And it's never going to change. Actually, despite all those villains and doom looming around the Azeroth, Horde and Alliance were both hostile to each other. Even when they were forced to fight side-by-side, there was always something that made them hate each other, even the mere past of the conflict that most of them cannot forget.Considering the upcomming novel from Christie, we can be now more than assured, that conflict between race-clusters is gonna escalate. I predict, that there will be some mini-war between the two, however, it will be eventually taken down due to some bigger threat looming on the horizon. This is very good. For two reasons.Firstly, WoW itself needs another expansion that will allow everyone just forget about super-uber-dooming villains with power that can move planets and destroy universes. It will be really good, to settle a little, sink into the slowly-paced lore, enjoy the gameplay and not worry too much about Demons, Old Gods and Titans. A while of breath.Secondly, Azeroth was long-forgotten since Cataclysm It's about damn time to go back to our origins and discover its beauty once again. I'm writing this on the basis of playing wow long time ago, before any expansion came out. WoW needs something that will make the world enjoyable and explorable with fun and joy. Personally, there is nothing more discouraging, than going to places, where people used to spend time before and seeing that there are only NPC's standing pointlessly. All of the above would beautifly wrap up with level-scaling-zones. It would matter not, whether you are lvl 110 or 1. You can quest the same places and it will be your choice where you want to go next. No more faded-out low level exclamation marks ;)Of course this would be idyllic to much, but we will eventually find out today's evening. Or tommorow's morning, when all the videos, trailers etc. will get out of the embargo time.Cheers!
I can't wait to see how the story of WoW will continue. I love both Alliance and Horde, but don't know how I feel about this situation yet. Well, Varimathras called it that this'll happen... but I didn't think that it'll come so soon. I feel sorry for the Alliance. If we're gonna fight with the Void Lords and the Old Gods, we won't be able to defeat them, both sides will be needed on the same side of the war.By the way, I think we'll lose our artifacts when N'zoth awakes from the depths of the Great Sea, while we are boarding a ship, and we'll be shipwrecked, so our artifacts sink deep into the water. The Alliance will start on Kul'Tiras while the Horde will start on Zandalar.About Silithus: I don't know what will be the point of destroying that place, but we'll see... soon enough ;P
What goodie bags did this come in? Because it didn't come in the one with the backpack. If would have had to have been handed out in person at the actual convention and not the "Goody Bag" as listed in the Blizzard Shop.
Really hoping that they don't make Sylvanas the next Garrosh. Other than that, really looking forward to this book!
Sylvanas is love, Sylvanas is life
I wont be there but i dream to be with you guys one day. Untill then i am happy to be up-to-date following your posts!Wowhead rullz!
It's really pissing me off to see people going nuts with "Garrosh 2.0" when it's merely a prologue of the future book. Everything can change, even if she would go for Stormwind (but I doubt that she will do that so openly), who said it's done and final? Saying that Sylvanas is going to be the new Garrosh is absolutely derogative of her, considering her entire lore, the past, her entire character. It would be too easy to turn her evil to the maximum, it would be easy and way too plain. It would hurt because Sylvanas is a complicated character, way to complicated to turn her into total psycho in a matter of couple of pages of text. Actually, this prologue says more about her and why she isn't another Garrosh. I'm not saying she's a saint, but definitely she's not the one to eradicate entire Azeroth for sake of fulfilling her wet dreams. First of all, Sylvanas is not the one to openly attack someone else - she's more into ploting, scheming and acting out from the shadows, just like she likes to do. It's said in the prologue, she is not willing to be in the center of attention, it's not comfortable for her. Having this in mind, openly declaring a war against Alliance without any solid reason would be 1) dumb and wouldn't suit her character, 2) would make her unworthy of any trust from the side of the Horde. We have to remember, that she's aware of being watched by other faction leaders and they wouldn't allow another "Garrosh 2.0" to rise again and stir the ^&*!. It's said that she respects other faction leaders, unlike Garrosh, and she's trying her best to be a good Warchief even if it's hard on her and it doesn't suit her. Any sign of "going psycho" would make her being overthrown by other faction leaders in a matter of seconds, I believe. Even if she has her own reasons to go for something in Stormwind, I don't think she'll do it like bam, here it goes, Stormwind is now mine, nobody has any objections. Like please, this would cause a rampage within Horde forces for sure. And there's more - Windrunner family reunion may be the turning point here, even if Sylvanas holds a grudge against Vareesa for what she did in the War Crimes, finding out Alleria is alive and void-infused may change the plot 180 degrees. I truly trust Christie Golden that she'll write Sylvanas well, because she knows that character best. No matter of Sylvanas' actions, I don't think they will turn her into baddie or "Garrosh 2.0". But what will really happen - we'll probably find out today. Can't wait for the opening ceremony and other discussion panels.
Most of y'all need to chill. It's just the prologue.
Aw yiss! I've been waiting for the faction conflict to reheat.
I will be looking for this book once it comes out! So glad Blizzard allowed wowhead to post this lol.BlizzCon 2017 hype <3!
