How many more interviews does there need to be about spergs going ham over the prepatch lore? These types always lose their minds when the poorly written lore doesn't go exactly the way the want.
Sylvanas reacted to The Gathering. Anduin invited Sylvanas to let her (UDs) people meet their living relatives once again. She initially rejected the idea but Nathanos convinced her.. only to witness what worried her. Some of the forsaken wanted to flee to Alliance... so she killed all the forsaken in the area.. even those who were not fleeing. She was not comfortable at Anduin's manners towards the Horde.. fearing of what could happen, she started the war.You are welcome.
Ion says they can trick us, and while that's somewhat true since we don't get to write the story ourselves, in some ways it is not. From the moment Sylvanas decided to commit genocide we know she's going away. We may not kill her, or be the ones to kill her, or have any other number of possible exits, but we know she's gone. There simply can't be a leader of a major faction to have intentionally carried out the greatest potential crime - for any reason. Perhaps she'll go into hiding or break off from the Horde and start her own Horde with blackjack and strippers, but she won't be part of the Horde. That's how Ion can't 'trick' us. He can surprise us and turn the story in almost any direction, but it's the same reason you can't have characters running around decapitating children. It's just not acceptable, and that's how we know she's gone. That's why people are upset because no matter the grandstanding Ion and the rest at blizzard can feign, she's gone. And we didn't want her gone, she was a fun and interesting character and now she's a dictator who's committed genocide.
When I saw the Burning of Teldrassil in-game, I was pissed. I really felt like the story writers had no idea what they were doing, and I was really worried that this will lead to another Garrosh. Which we really do not need. After playing through Battle for Lordaeron, I felt more and more, that this will lead to a good story. In a good direction. It really restored my confidence in the people who write the story for the next expansion. I've always been a horde player, and until now I always felt like Sylvanas is not my warchief. Now, I feel that she may yet become it.Though I still say that the in-game storytelling of the second part of War of Thorns was horrible.
I predict... Sylvanas will not be Garrosh 2.0. Blizzard is trying to make us *think* its going to be Garrosh 2.0 but likely pull some Redemption stunt for Sylvanas near the end of the expansion, or perhaps things throughout the expansion, specifically the horde side, that... not all as as it seems with Sylvanas. At least that is what i would like to see. Personally I myself enjoy seeing both sides of a story, I Like playing Pandaren for both side and Am thoroughly looking forward to seeing what BfA has in store, i will say that i will be wholly disappointed if they turn her into Arthas/Garrosh 2.0... I want CHARACTER DEVELOPEMENT! I want to see Sylvanas Grow and, If she truely feels Life is her enemy, come to realize that... Life ISN'T her enemy... that life and death are two sides of the same coin...
