For perspective, if it were freely usable by anyone, it’d become a mandatory-feeling power upgrade, and you’d see nothing but Hiveminds everywhere. Like this, it’s an awesome looking, prestigious mount, with just a tiny extra bonus.— ✨🐉 (@Celestalon) December 17, 2018

if they wanted to avoid it feeling "mandatory", I think it would have been better (and less confusing) to just disable that speed boost in arenas, battlegrounds, and instances (basically anywhere that it would be mandatory), then you still get the speed boost if you're outside just flying around looking for warfront rares or whatnot.
If they made the quest restrictions bind with battle.net account, as in, I play with my cousin and then complete the quest, and they can only join the hive mind with any of my Cousins toons, with any which one of my toons that would be a pretty cool way of doing it too, though it would make friend circles rather small I guess.
I dont care about the speed boost. I wanted a flying mount that could carry more than one other person, so I can taxi my friends around. If the multi-person aspect is restricted, then I won't waste my time getting this. Plain and simple.
Well, so much for going for this mount for the foreseeable future. Guess I'll have to plan a time when friends I want to carry are all on and have time to do this. Very poor planning from Blizz. I have to agree with many of the other posts that say, in essence, "Speed boost for those in your Hivemind group but allow multiple passengers for anyone."
I'm also in the camp of those not wanting this to work in M+ or arenas/BGs. If you can't use a damn water walking mount, how and why on Earth would you be able to use this one? Also, the requirements will be dropped, they can't be THIS stupid...since many people already did the quests with randoms....i swear, there's one good news for every 9 bad news about WoW these days....and now one of the good news has been spoiled....tho tbh it's better to not even have this mount at all than to force every player to get it if they change it to have its extra speed work with any additional passengers.....it would be like only having one water walking/vendor mount all over again.
Mount loks like ass - its almost 2019 . No?
I really don't like having it work this way. Letting it work as a normal passenger mount with anyone regardless of if they even have the mount themselves would be ideal. A good compromise would be to limiting it to only people with that mount, but not locking it to the group you got it with. I ended up getting mine with random people because my guild already had a full group working on it. That leaves me as an odd man out now. And if we were to go back in and redo it just so I could be part of the group that'd mean pushing another guildy out into the same position I'm in. That isn't fun Blizzard.
And now every M+ group will require that you first join their Hivemind. What a great idea. Almost as good as that quest that encourages Alliance players to camp certain flight points/WQs for a free 370.
I don't even have enough friends still playing WoW to do it with, lol. Thanks, Blizzard. Thanks. A lot. I'm not even going to bother going through the hassle of getting this mount if its awfully narrowminded restrictions don't get fixed.

Why don't just deactivate the speed boost in battlegrounds and arenas?
I really wish Blizzard mentioned this crap before everyone spend the times and effort to do it, don't get me wrong, I joined a random group and had a lotta fun with them figuring out the puzzles, but that group ill never see again, so basically this mount is useless if they do these restrictions, I don't care about the speed boost, just let me carry my friends with me, that's all i care about
I feel like the ability to go an gain a new 'hivemind' party should be simplified so that you don't have to go through those insane puzzles a second time, or third, etc. There was mention of adding a possible NPC to Court of Stars, maybe at the entrance, that will port you back up to the hivemind room if you've already completed the puzzles once. I can understand of course needing to do them over for a new person who doesn't have the mount yet, so there is that of course. But say 5 people, including myself have all obtained the Hivemind before but want to link ourselves up. There should be an easier way to access the room to get it done. Heck could even put the requirement that you need the Griftah necklace and/or at least one monocle equipped to see the npc that offers the teleport. The other option of course being like what was mentioned. The multi-seater function could be baseline but the speed buffs from your hivemind are from the puzzle. Another possibility is that they could make it so anyone who has gained the mount would be able to join together and use the multi-seat function but maybe not the speed bonus since that could apply only to their group hivemind. These are options of course and I hope this gets figured out for what they eventually do with the mount's functionality.
Get over yourselves. That's how it works. Such entitlement...
Um...but this must be bugged then. I first saw someone use this mount during the darkshore warfront. I was able to connect to them. Not only was this person a complete stranger to me from another server, but I also do not own the mount myself. It just let me hop on like a normal multi-seater mount, and the owner got a separate 10% movement buff. A few other randoms joined us as well, and the owner got a couple more copies of the 10% movement buff.
Or better yet, make it only give you a boost for those who got the hive mind.
They should have mentioned this when the hunt began, not after, or leave a clue saying it's 'cursed'.
