Saw a bunch of botters last night while trying to quest, If only I knew about this then .. I love my in game toys!
That's great, but it's sad that the game is so completely swarmed with botters that users come up with this. I wish Blizzard would actually implement a method to detect botters and (automated) multiboxers and ban them for good on first offense.
So, you pay to play the game and have to spend your time regulating bots. Blizz is brilliant.
Someone mentioned using a VPN to avoid being IP blocked - using a VPN to play WoW is itself a bannable offence under ToS... it is alleged that's why a "friend of a famous tech. YT-er" got a ban, as they use one for work & forgot to switch it off when they started playing WoW.
LOL back in the day when we used to see lv 1 bots running into Org to spell out URLs for gold selling sites, a lot of us used our Piccolo of the Flaming Fire to disrupt their program by dancing. Using toys on bots is a long and glorious tradition. :D
I remember seeing a post on reddit where someone had used cushions to move a botter around Ravendreath and force them to take a ride on a carriage.
If the game detects five toons with the same movement who have collected >100 skins in the last 30mins then kick from server. There are ways to automate bot detection and Blizzard should put more effort in and implement steeper penalties. 10 day IP ban and removal of all items from relevant sessions for the first offence adding 10 days for each subsequent ban.
I reported two bots in a cave and by the next morning Blizz had sent me mail in game saying they had took action on them and thanked for me "protecting" Azeroth. I'm happy to do it, but they could have at least tossed a few gold my way. Adventuring ain't cheap.
lmaoJustice has been served!
i just saw they fixed it, now bots avoid that stuff
thinking around this. they could make sure the cursor icon changes to a herb icon or mine icon before actually interacting. doesnt seem like too big of a deal. seems lazy to not have done that in the first place.
I did this in gorgrond and got flamed by 5 different Chinese dudes. Saw a stream where there was another guild that just had like 200 druids in it all farming mats. Like ffs, they have their own servers for a reason. Already screwing with the economy irl, can they not do it in wow
Don't worry everyone Asmongold went on a raging rampage against multiboxers because they were the problem. Of course now you are all stuck dealing with a huge influx of botters because now that boxers are out of the game the bots are running. Someone convince Asmon to stream for a few days and rant about bots for hours on end and maybe blizzard will do something since they suck up to that troll like he is some sort of literal god.
Nice TIP! THANKS!
Back during Legion I used the "Mobile Telemancy Beacon" toy to teleport trains of Bots to Shal'aran... :P
That portal thingie is absolutely beautiful. Gotta have to start farming that :D
