Pretty stupid if its intended.First we cant join giveaways and now this...
When I did all the stuff to redeem the TBC collectors edition, I did not send any mail to france. It was all an online process in which I had to write the date of my request on top of the TBC's barcode (behind the box) and take a photo of both that barcode with date written over and the failing TBC collector's CD key (the reason this whole process had to take place). It surprises me they decided to rethink the whole process and go physical...
Well, it's 14 years old product, the majority of digital codes this old will be problematic to claim.
Guys, you had plenty of time to redeem...
I guess I'm confused. If someone claimed the code to their account when TBC originally came out Blizzard would have this information in their system. I would be surprised if they removed that kind of data from their accounts. Or they can just run queries against their own data to determine which accounts has the pet and which ones don't. In my opinion if someone claimed it once they shouldn't have to go through any special steps to claim it for TBC Classic. It hurts the community, which in turns hurts their bottom-line.
I mean, if someone was born on the same day as TBC came out, they are already teen now. If you know what I mean.

I believe the EU Burning Crusade Collector's Edition had problems all the way back at launch in 2007 too. It was bad enough that EU Collector's Edition holders were given the pink Murloc pet as an apology for the trouble and concern caused by the issues surrounding their codes.
Codes are digital goods that are expected to be usable for a very long time. Makes no sense that only EU codes for only one expansion aren't redeemable. A solution is very well needed for the customers and I believe the EU laws probably have them covered.
Thank you Dunderman1 from Secret Finding Discord for providing the snippet.
EU Version of TBC collectors edition came with a Standard Edition code in the game case, which is why the extra steps were needed. I believe there were some issues in the EU distribution centre which caused this
I remember doing this. I seem to remember it was because they all had NA codes on them, not EU, or something along those lines. That's why we ended up with Lurky as well as the Netherwhelp, as an apology for the inconvenience.
This feels like the equivalent of attempting to use a Groupon thats over 15 years old. I understand that, you buy a digital item, and therefore you deserve to redeem it when you see fit,But C'mon. A decade and a half. Now, the fact that this only applies to certain regions, is a separate and justified argument completely - Either everyone can redeem 15 years later, or no one can.
So glad I did this a couple of years ago.
This is totally unacceptable. Just because the codes are 15+years old shouldn't make them unredeemable. Blizzard need to sort this out for those collectors who land themselves a copy down the line. Every other expansion CE is redeemable through our account portal, why not this?
The fact that people can justify this sucks so @#$%ing much. What happened to consumers not just gulping down whatever a corporation tells them? Jesus. It's a code on a game site. It isn't rocket science to keep up.
