Those people paying tons of money for NFTs are going to end up experiencing this same thing at some point.
Thats the second lie. The third will open the way.
For sure! I've been saving my code because I didnt want to damage the part of the box you had to cut out to redeem it but ffs let us know atleast a couple of months in advance. ffs im pissed right now
It has nothing to do with the age of CD keys, they did not work from the very beginning.
I did this back in the day. And i only needed a photocopy of the back with the bar code. Sended it per mail and i got both Netherwelp the Murki. The lootcard thing etc i didnt need to send. And even the original Back could stay at me :) And yes i can proove it i still have the back here and the ingame pets :)
Probably just an oversight that they need to fix. It's not uncommon for Blizzard to forget or mess things up.
When I was given my Netherwelp pet by an innkeeper in Exodar it was labeled as an EU code in the chat box, even though I have never played EU and redeemed originally on US realm
Been procrastinating this for 14 years now, I have the CE but due to some EU bug it only counted as a regular version of the game. Ah well guess its to late now...
Really? It's been 14 years. Why all of the sudden it's coming out of the wood work? It should only apply to retail anyway not classic.
I understand they can't support this forever. Where do you draw the line? 5 years? 10 years? 50? And sure, people had plenty of time to hand it in. But let's be realistic here: You either did it back then, or you'd do it now. Why? Because TBC Classic is coming up.Also, why not announce it? Why not give a heads up like "Hey guys, you got 3 months left, either do it now or just leave it." Silently removing it without telling anyone isn't really helpful. And why do it right before the release of classic TBC? This would be the very date that everyone that did not get around to hand in the code back in the day and came back for classic would get their CE out to finally do it. Like why stop supporting handing in the goods right before the release of classic TBC?There's probably also a ton of players with money on their hands (that were kids back in the day) that bought a sealed original tbc ce just for the release of classic tbc and they are all screwed now. It just seems like really, really, really bad timing on their side...
I own an original Collectors Edition box and received a similar response from the GM.As I had not sent parts of the box to their office, I can't get my collectors edition item, even if I've kept the box all these years.Rather disheartening.
And some people are idiot enough to be the shills of blizzard when blizzard is unable to give those expensive perks they paid for, fascinating.
Blizzard better be working on a fix for this, its unfair for everyone that saved their CE for 14 years when NA-region still can redeem it.
I remember having to send a small cutout from my CE edition in the box all these years ago. As some people have pointed out in the comments, this boiled down to Blizzard sending out regular edition keys in the CE edition boxes.
I already have my 2 ingame pets from the original TBC collectors edition.Go talk to the inkeeper in ORG if you are horde, you can pick up a quest to get your old pets.
