For perspective, if it were freely usable by anyone, it’d become a mandatory-feeling power upgrade, and you’d see nothing but Hiveminds everywhere. Like this, it’s an awesome looking, prestigious mount, with just a tiny extra bonus.— ✨🐉 (@Celestalon) December 17, 2018

Even if I agree with the motivation behind the 'collective' bonus, I'm afraid it will hurt a lot of people, simply because somr will probably some helping strangers via the group finder.
They should just do so any one could join the mount but then remove the speed boost in m+ and r/bg that will fix everything, or make it like 1 big connection so any that got the mount can jump and give the speed boost, and the thing about then it would be a requirement is not really true, for like in m+ it would only be useful after a wipe and maybe in a few dungeons if you do stuff like pull all the trash before 1ST boss in td or other routes in fh, but else not really since you chain pull all the time anyway.
It should be setup to work with people in your Party Only (As in up to a 5 man group). It shouldn't be just the people you completed it with. That way, it would never stack above the 5 man group, and if you are in a BG, or Raid, the limit would still be stuck at 5 man. Either that, or they need to make it where if you have already completed the puzzles, you can speak to someone to be taken to a place to attune to the new friends without spending the time going back through the puzzles. Great idea, good way to keep it from being a problem, but bad implementation. Now you will be forced to redo the puzzles just to attune with new people each time your group changes...
I've really tried to stay positive about BFA, but it's getting so tiring to feel so disappointed so often. They can't even bring out a secret mount without immediately following it up with a horrible surprise about it. I miss Legion.*edit* The thing about this restriction is it doesn't punish people who didn't put in the effort, it doesn't punish people who didn't put in the time, or people who don't really care. It punishes people who already feel lonely in WoW. And that's straight up nasty.
So I did this and I can't even allow my friend on it.... even tho they suffered though it a day later only for the ability to jump into my Hivemind when we're questing together.... greatWhy not just disable it in PvP like you do with everything else "game breaking''? And if top tier guilds need it for some raiding advantage well go ahead, everyone can get it, so just go farm it.And if it is OH SO GAME BREAKING! then just remove the speed bonus to the people who didn't complete it WITH you while still allowing them in the mount.... Well I guess I'm off to track down the randoms I did it with, so I can break the game with the 10% increased speed boost
Who makes these decisions within Blizzard? Or rather, who does not think these things through and makes these decisions anyway? The fun mount decision: Let any other people ride it with you in the outside world but it cannot be used in any instances or battlegrounds. In other words, no competitive situations. All other decisions lead to frustrations among players.Of course it's going to be used and manipulated by serious Mythic+ teams if Blizzard allows it. But this throws a wrench into Mythic+ and teams that want to use the functionality but switch around members each day or run based on the instances, classes, Mythic+ key levels, etc. (which my own guild's team does). All the current functionality for this mount ultimately does is add a level of frustration to the Mythic+ teams that don't have exactly the combination they need. They have the option to optimize their run but gee, the five of them need to swing back over and take time to do something all over again to get in the same mount group. Who has time for that? But if they're serious Mythic+ runners then they'll either do it (and feel frustrated wasting time having to re-constitute their groups) or not do it and then feel frustrated if/when they fail to get a run done in time but might have made it if they had re-constituted their mount group? The same logic and frustration above can be applied to PvP situations as well. This IS supposed to be a game, right? And games are supposed to be FUN, right? So make the mount FUN without all the other baggage. But I guess after all the thinking they put into how players would get the mount and then all the thinking of how it would be used, they didn't think of that.
The level of whining and complaining here is unreal. So many people said "I grouped with some strangers for a couple of hours, had a bunch of fun, and got this mount with a totally unique model, but it was all wasted because I don't get that special cosmic bonus".Compare the amount of time and effort spent for this mount to a mount like the Onyxian Drake. How many hours did you spend? Was it fun? Was there any bonus at all, for anyone?Seriously people, get a grip.
im only getting this to increase my mount counter.
nerf speed inc
Who comes up with that backass logic to limit the usability of this mount to the specific group that did the puzzle? Can't even begin to understand that thought process... Blizzard again telling us how to have F.U.N.Seriously, people are just sick in general of Blizzard's attitude and this is another piece added to the crap-pile that is BFA.
I think it's a better compromise than letting it be used as a speed boost anywhere, that WOULD make it mandatory, but I think making it function at normal speed but as a group mount with non-linked players would be fine.
Give me 40-person mount for world-pvp with sum = 500% ms)
Not true. Just do the puzzles to change your group.
Jeez, no wonder Blizzard doesn't listen to the vocal part of the community anymore... It's a mount. Mounts are not supposed to do anything other than let you move faster. Neither Lucid Nightmare nor Riddler's Mindworm gave any benefits, so why should this?People are getting riled up for tiniest of reasons and blaming Blizz for their own inability to just enjoy the game.
No fun allowed™Nerf the speed bonus in places where it will give a tactical advantage and lift the asinine "prestige" restriction. Giving a tactical advantage makes this mandatory no mater how restricted they make the use of it.
