Don't know about you, but I was around when WoW launched, it had its fair share of problems, and I logged on at 1am on BC launch day to find Outlands crashing and burning every 10 mins, that took a week or two to get right. WoW still has its share of problems even after 7+ years, TOR (Which I've never seen labelled a 'WoW Killer' by anyone other than WoW fanboys trying to talk #$%^) has a good number of bugs, but nothing game breaking that i've experienced yet.WoW is a great game, but after 7 years of the same formula I want something new, I am a giant Star Wars geek and always have been so i'm a lot more forgiving of minor bugs I come across, but I was the same way with WoW. I don't talk $%^& about WoW, I've got some great friends that I've made playing this game but to be honest, I've felt no urge to log on to WoW since TOR was released, my 11 85's are gathering dust while my lvl 50 BH heals through HM Flashpoints.
The problem with Cata is they tuned it (probably as a result of Activision's interference, toward a combination of younger, coming of age gamers, who have grown up with the instant gratification and simple gameplay provided by consoles, and also to jaded raiders who think "levelling is boring" and want to race to level 85.As a result the "world" of Warcraft - despite all the new phasing so you could see actual impacts of your actions on the environment, -- somehow lost a lot of its vibrancy and MMOness and became something of a single player experience that is rather pale and dead compared to the mostly static, yet hopping with players, grouping, and non-linear play possibilities that we saw in previous expansions (before everyone says it was always linear - I mean that you had the option to do or not do specific quests, skip quests, do a few at at time or 25 at a time - etc).I miss the AD&D feel of being adventurers in a larger world, playing against a backdrop of all things, rather than being the superhero of all Azeroth who saves the world from Deathwing by collecting 10 shells from a patch of seabed 12 feet away from the questgiver.

I guess this is what happens when Blizzard finally decides to listen to the MAJORITY of their player-base, rofl.
I'm a sucker who pays for WoW only to play 2-3 times a week to raid, and every other day playing TOR
Subs will continue to go down not only because the game is getting older, but also because Blizz has made many changes that have destroyed the community that WoW once was. While LFR will destroy the "epicness" of raiding in time, I feel that the single most destructive change by Blizz regarding casual PvE was the LFG system. Where you once had to actually pug people and fly to the stone to summon, people mindlessly press a button and rarely leave Org/SW until their que is up and they are ported to the dungeon. There were many times I tanked through Stonecore and not one person said a word. People acted much differently when they were grouped with individuals from their own server. Blizz could easily fix this by adding incentive to put 5mans together on one's own server, perhaps a harder difficulty with a little bit better ilvl gear for same server groups.I don't know. A lot of people I have talked to say that they don't miss this aspect of the game but I can tell you that it has destroyed the WoW experience whether you like the convenience of the "Join Party" button or not.
Amazing how threads like this bring out a lot of posters with less then 20 posts! What is going on here? Is it people logging onto different wowhead accounts so they can whine and complain and spread tales of doom and gloom anonymously? That aside the game is just fine, never better in fact and new players are joining all the time. Can't wait for Mists!
