What i dream to see someday is "the final battle" , where the Void Lords would have finally entered our reality , and we gotta fight them off back in to their "void realm". I have always had this feeling in me , that when we reach that phase the expansion will be most likely called "Void" or something with that word in it , and it will be the last WoW expansion before we transition in to either WoW 2 , or simply "the end" of the game.
I'm gonna be tired if it turns out the Titans are "LE BAD GUYS ALSO"
I’d die if the Titans ended up being the “bad” guys.
My take:Azeroth and Argus are the closest things to deities we've got. Azeroth has the power of creation and Argus has the power of destruction (though not necessarily in a bad sense). This is implied by the quoted passage where Alleria experiences Argus' memories - memories that "are older than the universe itself". That strongly implies Argus isn't 'native' to the physical universe. As for the Titans, I reckon they're beings from the Plane of Order that have incarnated themselves into the physical universe to influence it, similar to the demons in Diablo. They are from one realm, but had themselves born into the physical realm so they could play god.Having said that, I don't think the Titans are evil, I just think they have their own goals and beliefs, and because they're so much more powerful than mortals they don't have the morality we do. As people always point out, do humans consider ants and rats when they decide to build on vacant land? The Titans aren't out to torture people, they just want to make the universe orderly and overwrite anything that doesn't fit. Quite possibly using Azeroth's powers to do so, thus their interest in her.
In the beginning there was nothing... Then the Light said, let there be Titans! But Chuck Norris asked, say please?
So tired of the post SL lore revision nonsense. Why can't we just have the old WoW lore back now that the responsible devs for the whole BFA tree burning through SL thing are gone?It was simpler, better. Besides. What right did they have to pull an FFXIV style rebirth of the game's lore more than a decade into the game's existence and all without telling anyone explicitly that they were doing that? But the size and breadth of the retcons, the way they've changed the feel of the universe it's undeniably on the scale of ending that old world, that lore. The focus on the cosmic level stuff to begin with was a mistake. Gods and the root powers of magic should be beyond the purview of an MMORPG like this. Vanilla, elemental lords, demon lords, old gods. Wrath, lords of the undead and threats of the land, Cata with its mad dragon, MoP with the forces of a new land destabilized and needing to be put to rest, these all really felt like WoW and what it was meant to be. WoD was an unfullfilled promise, Legion wasn't an issue either at least not until all the last chapter stuff.
What if newborn titans are like wildcards, there to be swayed over by the first primordial force to reach them?
If the story writers are looking to portray the forces of order as villainous, that'll be a tough sell considering the other forces we've fought against want absolutely everything dead. I imagine they'll go with a more "misguided" angle. I just hope it doesn't lead to the overall plot taking the mindset of a sullen teenager shouting "Don't tell me what to do" because Mom said no.
Space.
Anything i had hoped for the lore crashed when they decided to start making changes to chronicle, that was supposed to be absolute because of how convoluted the history has been getting.
It's been clear since they first announced the three upcoming expansions that the Titans will be "surprise" bad guys. Either they'll be inherently bad, or they'll have been super double secret influenced by an Old God, or the _real_ Jailer behind the Jailer, etc.Whatever. They'll be the bad guys.
didn't shadowlands basically explain it as lame space robots?
its really clear theyre setting up the whole "war of cosmic forces" with mortals + world souls being "unaligned" so they can be infused to become any of them, player characters are the mortal/unaligned equivalent of dreadlords/naruu/wildgods/etc (champions) and major npcs like sylvanus or thrall or anduin are our equivalent of the pantheons, everyone wants the world soul to help manifest an ultra powerful being aligned with themselves in the mateiral plane
do we really need to know everything?
