This is fine, what are people complaining about? If you want to upgrade item to 220 in reasonable amount of time you definitely want to get it as a 210 item from +15 dungeon. Not to mention that you still want 10 15 dungeons for vault per week. If anything valor points are incentive to run 15s and nothing below that and that's fine
the upgrade costs are just plain stupid! 475 valors to go from 184 - 187 item level ^^ pls are u planing next expansion in 100 years ? think people still will play if u get some faster upgrades still u have KSM KSC system so me with ksc cant get more then 213 anyways. but make the cost cheaper so u can get that specific item u whant from a m0 and upgrade it to 213 for like 800 valor or somting.
It is so funny to see 225 ilvl players applying for +5 keys today :D
Actually this makes sense. This upgradeable catch-up gear isn't meant to be for the people who are doing higher end mythic plus. It's to encourage players to have new goals in PvE content. This could also encourage slightly better geared players to do slightly lower keys with guild mates and groups who are still progressing.I'm one of those players. I have no personal reason to do +10 keys (I get that other people do) because the reward vs effort just isn't there in my opinion. At the same time it's hard for some of my guild mates who don't play much and are more casual to find better players willing to do 3-5 keys with them. If you're going to get the same valor from a +10 as a +3 then what does it matter when you're already decently geared. This keeps the better geared player from feeling "forced" to run the highest key possible, and leaving players who may be catching up from always have to do their content with other fresh players. The biggest "problems" people have had in Shadowlands is community expectations and perspectives. The PR team hasn't done a great job explaining the shift in thinking for many of the systems. Torghast for example when it first came out had no explanation of the difficulty levels. A brand new lvl 60 didn't need to go to torghast outside the intro quest. However you had players who spent multiple long runs just to wipe on the final boss because their gear wasn't good enough to survive the damage. It wasn't a DPS check, it was a damage taken check. That's why tank specs were able to clear torghast solo more easily. Meanwhile on the forums people who played tanks were telling DPS players they were "idiots", "bad at the game", etc.TL;DR- While you're "spamming" +2s throw in some 4s-5s and take other people who need gear. Valor gear is meant to supplement and help provide another way of progression outside the main way of your weekly upgrades from the vault.
I think it's obvious we've reached a point where all these keys and upgrades and points and catch-up mechanisms and currencies are bloated and stale. Normal should be normal, Heroic should be difficult, and Mythic should be punishing. That's really all it needs to be. Chain-running M+ to upgrade your boots by 4% is outdated, crap game design. But they're still trying to make the MDI a thing, and they apparently think that making progression a labyrinth of mechanics and systems is what drives players. The Great Vault UI looks ripped straight out of a mobile gacha, and I doubt that's coincidence.
This CAN'T be operating as intended...if it is...it's beyond stupid - this is bordering on incompetence.

Again a good idea impemented in the worst possible way.
I am farming as much as possible before a change is enabled to "fix" it.
I don't see why all of these people are getting triggered about this. If people want to waste their time spamming 2's only to be doing higher dungeons later with no valor (due to being capped) it's on them. If it is capped it does not matter if it is the same or more due to key level. Just means you need to run x keys for the week (if doing nothing else). Try to enjoy the game without getting salty over every change.
How is this the issue? Consider the simple fact that a key drops two random items for five players. Good luck with that if you're going for a 210 drop out of a +15 for a BiS, you're going to be running that dungeon dozens of times unless you're very lucky. Clearly valor isn't meant for players already pushing 220+.
I see the changes would be like: "We will nerf 2-7 keys to 70 valor, 8-12 to 105 valor and 13+ will remain 135
I don't see why people are even mad - ya'll clearly didn't read that to upgrade to +5 / +10 / +15 keystone gear, you'd require the achievements in order to upgrade keystone pieces to those levels. This isn't just "spam +2's for 15 gear", it's "time all 15's, then aim for bis gear in any keystone, and upgrade it to 210 while you hope for it to drop in the Vault."Genuinely mad over nothing.
