I really really want to do PoA because I love a lot of the rewards, but the system is so frustrating and headache inducing. It isn't fun in the slightest, and whoever decided that an entire minigame should be with WoW's vehicle system... really?
people do the path of ascension? i just upgraded it to max rank and let it rot
Unlocked it, tried the first fight and failed and gave up.I was waiting until my renown was higher and now I hear that is broken too :/I may try again when I hear they have fix it.
Guess I'm an outlier, completedit in march this year, and just been doing the weekly quests ever since. I've cheesed a few fights back then but nothing is unbeatable an current Bron is much better than the broken heap it was back then
Just like the Kyrian Adventure Table used to be ...the PoA system is an overtuned buggy mess. I filed two support tickets (WITH VIDEO) showing that the footpads often just FAILED to work (i'd float mid-air and "swim") and that wrecked so many of my attempts but did Blizz do anythign about it ? Nope. They never admit to there being a bug or an issue when you report things via in-game ticket--it's really irritating and arrogant.
i really wanna do it but service medals are just not enough. so i didnt do it. it gives me magetower style vibes and i love it. wish i had more material and service medal tho
The thing I dislike the most on the Path is the terrible "character vehicle" system. There are lots of keybinding issues that I've been able to fix (for me, at least) via macros that I can't easily use with the vehicle system (can't use @cursor macros to auto target AOE to where my mouse pointer is), and the vehicle characters move kind weird compared to regular characters.
The progressive buffing via renown would solve almost every problem here, as it would mean that theoretically at max renown you would have enough of an advantage to get by many of the other issues. Without it though, the humility encounters are just not fun in the slightest. It's actually a really cool concept and I enjoyed most of it up through tier 4, but the last half of the tier 4 fights and tier 5 are just intensely unfun. You have to practically exploit most of them to succeed and that's a bummer.
These achievements need to be account wide. Doing them once was enough!
I lost to Kalisthene and never went back.I'm confused by the system and I never cared to read guides about it.The Queen's Conservatory is the clear winner here out of the 4 covenants.
"this covenant feature is dramatically overtuned compared to the alternatives, and time-gated to boot, leading to a difficult, frustrating endeavor, where most people give up before even reaching Humility"Couldn't have said it any better. Waste of anima unfortunately.
I just simply postponed bothering with this one until the last patch where it gets hopefully nerfed to ground. Incredibly unfun (the vehicle system is super frustrating to operate in the first place) and way too much work given the meh rewards. The Night Fae garden and Necrolord Stitchyard are perfect in the regard, super chill, proper progression path and you don't have to spend hours grinding for the rewards.
It *IS* extremely un-fun. And what the author of the article failed to mention (at least not that I noticed) is that there are a number of battle pets, mounts, and transmogs that are locked away behind not only just COMPLETING the various combinations of fights and soulbinds and equipment, there are also many that are locked away behind ACHIEVEMENTS within PoA. As if it's not hard enough to just do the basics (I, myself, have been unable to even beat the very first boss), you have to do beat the bosses at a harder level. While some of the changes suggested might maybe help, the whole entire PoA concept is just ridiculously over-tuned and FAR harder than the comparable systems in the other covenants. Those are merely time-consuming, but they're not hard, at all. This is, at least to me (and apparently, many others), way past merely being "hard". I would liken the difficulty level to mythic raiding with a 10-man group, as compared to LFR. Though, at least you'd be playing your own toon, and using familiar abilities in the mythic raiding!
Ember court is stupid easy compared this steaming pile.
I like to collect xmogs. I rarely use them, but I have that disease where I get happy when I fill up a bar. So I grinded my through all the Path of Ascension achievements to get all the xmogs on my monk. The achievements that unlock your ability to purchase the xmogs are not account wide. The thought of repeating the whole process on cloth/mail/plate makes me cringe.
I got so frustrated on that first quest i didn't bother with this.Issues doesn't even begin to describe this terrible feature.Doing Conservatory on an Alt and that is way better!Kyrians deserve something else.
I'm sure this will get hotfixed, but at the moment you can cheese the fights and some of the achievements by using a Darkmoon Seesaw. - Pick your boss, pick any soulbind, load the fight. - Once in, jump off the side (or die from the boss). As yourself, drop the Darkmoon Seesaw in a safe place, collect your chest, and then ask Adrianos to try again. - Pick either Pelagos or Kleia (Mikanikos will clear the Darkmoon Seesaw ), load the fight, and when you're inside hop on the Darkmoon Seesaw. Your soulbind will despawn and the boss will be there for you to defeat as yourself.- Collect reward.
Didn't see it mentioned here, but the achievements, which are required to purchase the xmog, are not account-wide, so if you want all four armor types you have to not only upgrade the whole thing four times but beat each fight, with each soulbind, on humility four different times. It also appears that the soulbinds scaling based on renown did not get updated in 9.1 so the fights aren't gonna be easier at renown 80. Since this is essentially vehicle combat, having the achievements linked to the character and not the account seems really stupid. I hope the sanctums receives some more QoL improvements now that we will have an easier time switching.
