im leaning towards december 9th with a january raid
If it's around December then I have time to finish Cyberpunk :D
Better later than unfinished. Blizzard, please take your time and release finished expansion this time.
The comment that they wll delay the expac to later this year lets me think that it will still be a 2020 release. I am sure they picked those words carefully. I think last week Nov or 1st week Dec really as the earliest. for the release. maybe with that they can postpone the raid opening until Jan 21 post the Chrissy break. Gives us plenty of time then to level, chillax and enjoy the expac rather then feel rushed to get up to the bar for raiding.
Blizzard said that they don't know yet.
I think it’s sometime in December. If they were just pushing two weeks to mid-November I think they would have provided the new date today
There's no way it's in November.Blizzard don't want to give a second date until they are 100% categorically certain, it will release on that date.If they give November as a release date, there's a chance it still won't be ready by then. The only possible release date is December. That will ensure they have plenty of time to make sure the expansion is ready for release. In November, there's a risk it still won't be ready - so they'll want extra time to make sure. That's why I think it's December 8th or 15th, personally.
Good prognostication as usual from Nostra-Perc.My two cents (and I will not rest on my laurels for calling the possibility of the pre-patch on Oct 13th increasingly likely in recent weeks in the WoW forums), is that we'll have a mid-December launch on the 15th with raids opening up the first full week of January, so with the Jan. 5th reset. One not only has to consider Blizz personnel availability post-launch of new content and avoiding holidays during that time, but also keep in mind that Blizz folks need to be able to work during the final week of crunch time before the content goes live. So you need a good, full two week window, with a week before and after the content becoming available, that avoids the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
No way will they release near Cyberpunk they need to have the spotlight to themselves after all of this buildup and expectations. I'm going with early/mid December. Either the 8th or the 15th.
They can release it even as late as 29th/30th of December to keep within the promise of it launching before the 31st of December, meaning that in second week of january normal and HC raid will be released and a week after that mythic. Personally though, I think they will release it in end of November, giving us a 6 week pre-patch and they have those 6 weeks to mostly focus on the expansion and not the pre-patch as much. Then HC will come out 8th/9th of December and mythic 15th/16th, giving ppl a bit over a week to get progress on mythic before Christmas. Then many ppl have tons of time to play during the holidays and then they would piss off less ppl, I guess. If they release the expansion as late as 29th/30th, ppl would have gone back to work/school when the raid comes out, and less time to get ready for the new raid, unless they take time off again, which they prob refuse to do a second time.
Throw everything out the window, none of those games were developed during a pandemic. The only thing keeping it in 2020 is they said it would be out in 2020, and I'm not precisely sure what liability they'd have if they did move it to January 2021 (because I'm not a lawyer, though I imagine if they moved it that far the armchair lawyers would come out in force.)In all honesty, October felt too soon when they announced it, and that was before the pandemic kicked it into high gear over the summer. Should have bitten the bullet and aimed for Q1 2021.
I booked time off from work and now they move it. I have limited time as well, I know Covid has screwed things up but they knew it was not going to be ready in time.I will not be able to play it now properly until January because of Xmas and where I work. Pray to God there is another lockdown then I won't care.At least there is the new Xbox to keep my mind of the fact that once again Activison have forced a release before Blizzard is ready. Maybe it is time for Blizzard to get the f@ck outta dodge and find a new publisher (maybe Microsoft LOL)
The problem with a november/thanksgiving release, is that most americans travel to visit family. So gaming doesnt happen. Secondly, America is only part of the WoW player base, and no one else practises thanks giving, meaning we all still need to take time off. Blizzarz never should have locked themselves into a 2020 realease
I did not realise thanks giving was in Novhonestly I don't see it being released till early Dec at minimum. asking the overlords for a one to two week delay doesn't seem like a thing that will get signed off (personal experience off course, maybe Activision bosses are nicer lol)so if Nov 24 is write off then I guess it's going to be Dec
