Hang on, Weekly RAID chest? NEAT
So they're trying to incite people to play different type of content (raid / m+ / pvp), the intention is fine, but meanwhile they're discouraging this by being so strict with convenant / soulbinds / conduits so that you can only perform in one content and be average in others. It's time to be consistent, either you want players to invest time in one character to play different content and/or different spec, or you want to encourage them rerolling multiple characters to play them in different roles / content.
Ok so as far as I understand this system it rewards more options the more content you do.Options in this case are not loot.I believe that is amazing, especially as a Raider that you have a chance for an additional piece of gear more bosses you manage to beat. I'm just concerned about the number of bosses killed. Also the more Mythic+ you do the more options you have is cool. The only questionable thing might be, Blizz scraped the PvP chest. But as there is a PvP Vendor now, that might be not an issue. What I would have loved to see with this system, that you could choose one piece of gear from every row (that you unlock) or the amount of currency if nothing is interesting. But I guess that depends on the loot pool each row is rolling.
Do you remember the game rewarding you according to the activity you wanted to partake in rather than forcing you to do random stuff you never really cared about?Pepperidge Farm remembers.
People say they want less RNG but suggest everyone get more choices in weekly chest and it's more "yOu jUSt WAnT fReE StuFf" than a boomer politics facebook.
It's baffling to me how many people misunderstand this system.1) It's there to reward you for the content you enjoy, not to make you do content you normally wouldn't bother doing. That's why the 3rd tier is 15 keystones and 10 raid bosses, because realistically the only people who will meet that are the people who enjoy doing it. It does not exist to get you to get all 9 choices per week. Of course, if you want to then go ahead.2) You're not being punished for doing low keystones with friends. Using BFA numbers, If you do 3x +15s in a week, then help your friend with 2x +13s you'll have the option of an i475 item from the "1 keystone" category and an i470 item from the "5 keystone" category. That's not punishing you for helping a friend, because you would have totally missed that reward otherwise. Similarly, if you do 5x +15s and then help your friend with 2x +13s, you'd have the option of 2x i475s from the cache. 3) It scales with the lowest criteria because the alternative would allow the system to be gamed to a ridiculous degree. Clearing 1x +15 then 14x +2s and getting 3 choices of i475 is stupid. Similarly for raids, it would be absurd to get 3 choices of i475 if you clear 1 Mythic raid boss then 9x bosses on Normal.4) No matter what, you're getting more choices of gear than you did/are in Legion/BFA even if you only do a single keystone in a week because you have the option of currency if you dislike your item/all your choices.
I don't understand. If my first key of the week isn't a 15 is my first reward slot permanently ruined? This is the only thing giving me doubts.
I enjoy M+ and while I'm no prog mythic raider or anything, I play quite a bit, and I don't think I've run 15 keys on a single character in one week since M+ was introduced. Its simply too high a threshold for something that should have been implemented with the introduction of the weekly chest in Legion (in the absence of an alternative loot targeting mechanism). And while it won't directly affect your reward, you will still be disincentivised to help people below your usual key level since you will just want to do your 15 keys for the week for your own optimisation and not want to run any more to help people out. It should at least be an average of keystone level rather than the lowest one so you can do a few higher keys to offset a few lower keys per week while still maintaining your desired reward.
Hmm, not sure about the you can only pick one even if you clear all objectives for the week. Having nine options whilst only being able to choose one is going to feel pretty terrible for anyone who invested the time into completing those requirements. Hopefully they mean you get to choose one piece of gear and the rest convert into a partial currency amount of the other gear options so you get that as well to hoard and buy more gear with later so it doesn't feel so bad.
I'm guessing LFR raid bosses don't count as an option? I'm not worried if they don't, but I don't 'normal and up' raid, so I'd have to worry about mythics and PvP (if world pvp content counts). I assume world pvp quests that reward conquest counts giving the image though.
15 mythic dungeons a week... what? Thats a bit much. I do like the idea, but I don't even do that many a week and I play this game far too much.
