The most epic drop for me so far would have to be last night. I haven't really been running dungeons and I turned lvl 80 back in the basin area so I haven't done the higher quest lines and gotten new gear. Needless to say I'm still in some of my 70 epics because nothing has been good enough to replaced them. After winning Wintergrasp we formed a 10-man raid for Vault and I ended up getting the T7 PVE gloves to finally replace my T4
I would have to say my most epic moment as far as mounts are concerned would be during this past Brewfest event when I ended up winning on both the Great Brewfest Kodo and the Swift Brewfest Ram during the same event. Of course, all of my friends that ran with me still hate me to this day when I bust one of them out and start running in circles.
My most epic loot would have to be the tabard of flame from loot cards. It's pretty epic for me because I didn't ever expect to get any sort of loot cards, and the first pack of cards I bought held that =D. I wear that all the time.
http://www.cuckhead.com/?item=30480I stand by that this was the most epic drop I ever got. I got it during my very first run through Karazhan as a noob 70. It was not only that, but my first raid run ever. Other than my Lock Dreadstead, it was my only other riding mount. It gives me memories of good times now every time I ride it now. ^^
So there we were, 40 of us, waiting to vanquish a creature only told about in legends. Ragnaros, the fire lord, they called him. The king of the fire elementals, servant to the old gods, a being strong enough to stand up against the titans themselves. We knew that this was the most intense battle we would face in our lifetimes, but with a dwarven priest standing behind us we were warded from the fear (^_^).We had already overcome his majordomo, and the coward had submitted to our will, he would summon the beast for us. So there I stood, Obsidian Edge Blade in hand, waiting, not knowing what to expect, but knowing what I wanted. I had heard tales in my youth of the weapon this foul creature held, and my lust for loot had lead to me search far and wide for all the materials needed to claim it for my own, I had collected them all. Weeks of work and unheard of amounts of gold had brought me these items, from bars of dark iron and arcanite, to cores of lava and fire, and even the ingots held by one of the most trusted in Ragnaros' army had found home in my bag, while his blood coated our blades. We were nervous, we were anxious, but we were prepared. It was a bloody battle, and the lava claimed many of our men, but we were victorious. As we celebrated and sifted through the spoils that we had come across in the battle, my heart nearly stopped as I stumbled across a single eye. The Eye of Sulfuras, the last remaining reagent needed to claim this beasts hammer. Cautiously I placed the eye into my sulfuron hammer. Words cannot express what happened next, the feeling over pure power was so overwhelming that I nearly could not control it, and my world went black. When I came to only moments later I realized what I was holding in my hand.Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros was mine. The horde knows no fury like a dwarf ret paladin with a legendary weapon.... well, at least until I went into a BG, after that they knew. They knew well.
I'm one of those vanity pet collecting freaks. What started me down this path was the Joss Whedon/Firefly reference in the flavor text of the Captured Firefly...and I had to have one. So my most epic loot moment was when, after killing 982 Bogflare Needlers...my Captured Firefly finally dropped. It was the first time I had farmed something like that and it took 3 days. I got 1/2 a level, from 69 to 69.5 and made several hundred gold in greens and vendor trash along the way. What a pain in the hoohoo. Wrath has obliterated his flavor text, but I love him nonetheless. :-)
