I remember being in a pug group for heroic Shadow Labyrinth. It was a decent group compared to all the FAIL I had grouped with before through the LFG. I was doing Shadow Lab for a few reasons: I was bored, I wanted some more heroic badges, needed the achievement and...in the rare case that it dropped...Get Murmur's epic mace the Shockwave Truncheon. Back before 3.0 when we had a difference between bonus healing and bonus spell damage, Shockwave Truncheon was a GREAT healing mace with about 300+ bonus healing. Even after the patch finally hit and bonus healing and spell damage got turned into spell power, it was still a very viable mace to get before doing raiding (post Karazhan raids.) So we made our way through Shadow Labs easy enough and got to Murmur. I was confident that we could beat him, boy was I surprised when it came down to ME the healer (a holy paladin) and the tank (an arms warrior.) Murmur was at about 12% health and the tank was bashing away while I blew all my trinket cooldowns and Lay on Hands and EVERYTHING I could do to keep him up. It was a GREAT battle and luckily, despite our low health, we defeated him. I rezzed all the other party members and proceeded to loot Murmur and lo and behold...There it was...The Shockwave Truncheon staring me right in face. Now ST has about a 7% drop rate and this was the FIRST time I had ever attempted the heroic version of the instance. I was super excited and asked if I could need the mace, nobody else was interested in it so I snatched it up and it was with me all the way into Northrend for quite a while until I finally found a replacement. I loved its soundwave enchant effect that left little sound bubbles trailing behind you as you ran along. I still keep the mace in my bank to remind me of how lucky I was to have gotten such a rare drop. It was my greatest EPIC drop ever.
My most epic, loot was finally getting the gloves of saintly blessings, after i had raided kara about 50 times, and had already gotten better gloves....
The most epic drop I got wasn't epic. I was farming the little firefly pet, http://www.cuckhead.com/?item=29960, for a friend on her birthday. I went on to wowhead, of course, to look up how long it might possibly take me. I saddened me to see that it was taking people anywhere from 400-300 kills. So I decided to do it anyway but with my awesome luck, and a little bit wowhead help, I was able to get the drop after just 62 kills!
My most epic piece of loot had to be about a month before BC came out I had horrible gear because I had just reached 60 and my guild helped me get Onyxia attuned. I was so happy that on the third run I got my beautiful http://www.cuckhead.com/?item=16914 but sadly it was replaced not long after BC was released... Never ran Onyxia again. Still epic though!
