Well, for me it would probably be my Horseman's Reigns. I farmed him hundreds of times, enslaving various warlocks and friends of mine to help me grind him with lowbies summons (I swear, the number of Pumpkin Hats, Swords and Helms we gave to lvl 65-69s...) and always getting people to promise me that when it dropped, I would get it 100% - since I was a t6 feral, all I needed was a warlock to summon and a second friend to help summon (and also dps and maybe throw me some heals now and again ^^). As the days wore on, my hopes shrunk... November the first came along - the final day of the event. As I grinded through the evening, 6:45pm drew closer, when I would have to go to a fireworks display with my family. 6:40 came around, and I had 1 lowbie and 1 other person's lowbie alt in the grp to summon - my final attempts of the event :S By now I had all but given up hope, as he died I expected to see yet another ring - maybe a sword, just to taunt me. Seeing nothing interesting in the loot window, and having only 1 run left after, I began to despair, but then I saw the scroll arrow. Clicking it, I saw alone in a loot panel, an epic. An epic with a skull as the most prominent part of its icon. The Horseman's Reigns. As an added bonus, while I was STILL celebrating, the second and final kill dropped Sinister Squashling for a friend of mine who had been with me all evening, finishing his Sinister Calling and earning him the post-change Hallowed achievement - and boy did he deserve it :P

Probably my brutality blade. Back in the days of MC when epics really mattered I picked it up in my fourth week of raiding. Really made me enjoy raiding and just gives me general pleasure because I remember it as my first and most important piece of gear earned.
My "epic" loot drop/moment/whatever would have to be the first time I did Karazhan with my guild. I started playing WoW late, and my mage was only 58 when Burning Crusade released, so I never did old-world raids. After reaching 70 and getting into the raid scene with my friends, the Harbinger Bands dropped one night and I won the roll. This being the first "omg purplz" I had ever received, it was more than a little exciting (we were all there at one point). I doubt I'll ever forget that, as it was my first taste of the "top gear" content in WoW, though the experience with my friends will always remain more important than loot. And that's my epic moment.
My most epic loot, must have been Eye of Sulfuras a couple of days before TBC hit the shelves. Ok, was a waste on a holy pally I guess. But thanks to the help of LOADS of guildies, with transmutes, crystals and bars, I managed to craft Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros not long after I looted the Eye, which helped me level all the way to 70 in TBC.Sulfuras still sits in my bank, and every time I open my bank, it makes me remind of the friends I make/have made, in all the time I've played WoW
My most epic piece of loot was probably my http://www.cuckhead.com/?item=16677 I ran scholo so much the place felt like a second home. Last night i get to play before expansion release I ran scholo with my guild, we take forever and are all exhausted when we get to Gandling. So we down him and after seeing countless other guildies win thier helm from it i get the cap. I couldnt even believe the window when i saw it. I also took home the http://www.cuckhead.com/?item=14617 from that particular run. That had to be my most epic piece of loot, simply cause it didnt want to drop for me. To this day i still dislike Gandling.
Hmm. Let me think here..... AH HA! I know what my most epic item I ever got was. Well as the story starts out I had been hanging around with friends at 51 just doing instances and quest and so on. Well then one of them says "Hey lets go run ST" I was like OK sure. Wouldn't mind the helm and got a few quest to do there. So anyways we are in there and just killing mobs not really having a clue what we were doing. So we finally manage to get to the last boss and Im thinking "You know... I would really love that epic sword" And we down the boss and I rush over to check the boss and nothing good droped! Not the sword or the helm. So Im like gosh this sucks.... Anyways a few days later I was hanging out in goldshire just dueling lvl 60s to see what I could do. and along comes this rogue. I'm like OK... This guy should be a cake walk. So we dueled and all the sudden this little itty bitty whelp pops out and is just destroying me! And I go and check this rogues gear and he has the sword! And instantly I poped into the world LFG channel (RIP world LFG) and theres a group that needs one more so I say "take me" And they said ok. And it was a warrior, two warlocks and a druid then there was me a lvl 52 dwarf paladin. So anyways we clear everything and are on the last boss and we are doing the fight and the hole time I was just praying that this thing would drop and that I would get it. And we down the boss and I rush over to loot it. And when I scrolled down the loot and the purple lettering "DRAGON'S CALL" I just screamed like a little girl yelling "Omg dude LOOK AT THIS! IT DROPPED!" And of course the warrior was happy to see it drop to and wanted it. So we rolled and he rolled a 99. At this point I'm thinking wow this sucks hard... And I sadly did my /roll and out of nowhere pops a 100! I was soo happy I ran over to that dirty dragon and looted my blade. wiped it on and started flaunting it to everyone that could see it. I still have that blade two and half years later with its crusader chant on it and everything. Still holds a place in my heart. I even wip it out some times to show my friends. And that is my most epic moment in WoW to this day. Well... Besides for the death charger. But that's a story for another day.
I've already tried my most epic loot moment on day 2 so: MY MOST EPIC MOMENT EVERMy brother rolling Alliance on Lag'Akir and my Undead Rogue explaining to him why this was a bad idea.A lot of /dance was involved in the explanation.
I'm a vanity pet collector; so I've spent a ton of time across varying characters killing my share of whelplings, fireflies, and bloodsail pirates in an effort to get as many of the little suckers as possible. When I hit level 48 I decided to try for the Disgusting Oozeling. I stopped questing. I stopped tradeskilling. I stopped everything. I went to Felwood and found the northern ooze camp and I killed oozes for days.I had no rest XP built up; so my leveling came to a halt compared to the pace it was before my frantic ooze farming began. I ran out of arrows and refused to go back to the vendor to buy more because I convinced myself that the very next ooze could be "the one". Each time an ooze bag dropped it would present just enough hope (and then, disappointment) to keep me going. I hit level 49. Then 50. 51. 52.I finally gave up and continued on with the game. My brain was fried and I just couldn't take it anymore. My guildmates thought that I was nuts and reminded me that if I continued leveling I could go for "better" pets like the phoenix hatchling in MgT. I didn't care. I wanted my oozeling. But I did need a break.About a month and a half later I was reading Wowhead comments on the little guy and they suggested to try farming it up in Eastern Plaguelands because there were more oozes to kill, divided into an eastern and western camp and that you could make a circuit and be killing mobs constantly. One poster in particular had made a little map of his favored route.I followed that route for two days to no avail.I had stopped at Light's Hope to vendor all the crap that I had collected in my farming when a guildmate informed me that the Tranquil Mechanical Yeti that I have been after had been posted on the AH. A new pet for me! I started to hearth to go hit up the nearest AH; but they informed me that they had already picked it up and would bring it to me so that I could continue my ooze farming in peace.I continued my laps.My friend was running forward on her mount while typing to me that she was almost to Light's Hope and ended up driving herself off a cliff into the western ooze camp. She had taken a great deal of damage in the fall and had caught the attention of the ooze monsters in the camp. She attempted to run out but the most persistant of the oozes knocked her off her mount. Being a Mage, she countered with the angry use of a bunch of cooldowns, trinkets, and hateful fireballs. She slaughtered her attacker. When we met up she traded me the yeti pet. An excellent addition for sure. But then she opened up a second trade window with me. Oh! Right! I had forgotten to pay her for picking up the yeti for me. But instead; she put Disgusting Oozeling in the trade window; and it lit up green for me to hit accept.I didn't hit accept. I just stared at my monitor for a few seconds."Where did that come from?"She explained that she had been attacked by an ooze on her way to me and that it had dropped. I told her that was impossible. That the odds of her getting one in a single kill versus my days of farming was crazy. And that she should keep it and AH it for a tiny fortune. But she told me that she wanted me to have it. My Mage friend has since quit playing; but I keep her oozeling by my side as often as I can. Not just as a reminder of my friend; but as proof of the statistical miracle of her getting one in a single kill. Also, it makes me and my mounts neon green. I mean, seriously, how cool is that?
I'd have to say the most epic loot I can recall was this last week in our 10 man Sartharion raid. We did not dare attempt downing him with any of the drakes up yet. After a few healers taking massive damage to the lava waves and figuring the flow of things out, we could stop sweating bullets and continue to slay the dragon! Having lost my roll for t7 gauntlets, I was pretty sure that I would not win anything for the day. As the ML asked for rolls on the 22 slot epic bag, I let them rip with a berserking /random and BOOM! 99 Roll - Headshot to seal the deal. <3 epic bags
