There is no more anima drought though. Once Sire had been defeated in LFR, the drought was over. Callings should start rewarding anima now. This is in agreement with the lore, so there is no excuse. Not that lore should ever justify awful design in the first place.
500....

this isnt good just up the anime gained man the lore reasons behind this sucks "we are in an anime drought so there is no anime" Yet you need over 400k anime to buy everything get out of town blizz come on.
I don't understand why Torghast doesn't reward anima.1) It would give both casuals and hardcore players a reason to do Torghast (if they want to!) after getting their legendaries/cosmetics. I love Torghast and every now and then I run it just for the fun, but why am I spending 2 hours to clear a layer that gives me no rewards at the end when I need 70 000 anima to collect all the cosmetics on just 1 character.... that time would be more productively spent doing M+ for 100 anima a key or WQs for 150 anima per 5 min. Which is not healthy as it is brainless and boring, whereas Torghast is a fun and somewhat challenging activity (if you are on an undergeared alt).2) It makes sense lorewise as we are literally collecting ANIMA powers in Torghast. Doesn't make sense that that anima would disappear after we leave.3) We are in a literal anima drought and everyone is whining about the scarcity of it. What better way to deal with the drought without just giving it away for free?
bout damn time im at 150/100 souls
"500 anima is nothing!"Well, no anima is nothing, 500 anima is something. Why are people complaining about this? It's not like we're losing something to get this instead.
There are MULTIPLE ways we dip into Anima. Mission tables costs anima. Unless you want to wait a day for them to heal, some folks "may choose" to occasionally heal their companions which can actually cost quite a bit if you go that route. Covenant gear upgrades.... anima. Pets and mounts are not technically "cosmetic" (and there are MANY MANY MAAANY collectors in this game and they contribute to keeping this game rolling) and can cost a LOT of anima. Covenant Upgrading costs anima. The last few covenant/sanctum upgrades cost quite a LOT of anima to accomplish. The last 3 tiers of my abominable factory will cost a total 37k anima. All while the anima is just trickling in at a super small rate. I saw 5 wq on the board today that gave out THIRTY FIVE anima! that barely covers ONE mission on your table much less the 37 THOUSAND i need to just upgrade covenant/sanctum stuff never mind all the goodies I wish i COULD afford to get. Effort vs. Reward enters the picture on those ones. The new board on a reset tuesday barely hit 1k anima all told. Yeah a small Anima percentage based incremental increase seems like a VERY reasonable expectation.I understand that the acquisition of all the pets/toys/mounts and massive amount of cosmetic gear is an expansion-long project. However, without a sense that we are just spitting into the wind, many many many folks will just stop giving a crap at all. It is incredibly daunting. Also, I was thinking about the fact that in some ways i feel .... punished? I have been pushing my upgrades as i go along, so I am NOT soul capped. But I know many folks who are. So they will get an extra 500 anima per week for having tried less. For having done LESS. That seems.... well just wrong. So what i SHOULD be doing now is ... NOT upgrade my sanctum. just hold those souls infinitely. and get that wee bit of extra anima. How in the holy blankety blank is that fixing the core issue. Like I somehow need 500 anima LESS than they do? If I had known that not upgrading my sanctum would pay off in a month or so, I could have planned for that. At the core of it all this is not truly a solution. It is a band- aid. And it is punitive to those who HAVE been grinding out that anima and doing upgrades! We need more carrot and a LOT less stick in this expansion. I don't mind hard work. I don't mind a grind toward a specific goal. But this is the least rewarded i have felt in over 13 yrs of playing this game. I love wow. I am here. I am hoping to feel better about SL. There. I said my piece for what it is worth.
Well, that's something. I was going to hold onto my quest until I could afford my first rank 3 upgrade. Now I won't have to.
What do they mean with "Once players have recruited the maximum amount of Souls for their Covenant"I'm actually able to avoid being capped on souls (66 currently on main and soon can spend another 22 on a rank 3 this week); because i do regular anima WQ swoops.Am i gonna be actively punished by not getting the 500 bonus anima that people with 100+ souls WILL get because they never farmed?
So once 9.0.5 hits To get 1k anima you: Do world boss Do dungeon quests Do souls weekly Then you get 1.5k which is essentially a calling reward.....im ok with that
"Huh that's pretty cool."*looks at comments**sighs*
From my “I only gather 1000 anima for the weekly quest” perspective, this is really good, I am at almost 130 souls now with nearly 6K anima (I don’t bother upgrading buildings, it’s useless, I will probably upgrade the adventure table at level 2 when I hit 7-8K anima), this means that with the weekly souls quest plus the world boss plus the two weekly dungeon quests I can do in Normal difficulty I will be able to gather 1000 anima in one hour max and then dedicate to M+.
