"An Old God did it" is such a boring and obvious explanation. I wish it had been something interesting like: The loa whispered "Windrunner" to Vol'jin, but they meant Vareesa or Alleria, and he chose the wrong one... and now he has to accept the consequences of his mistake.
I have not read all the comments so this may have already been stated. So Vol'jin says: Da Lich King didn't bring me back. Eyir be claimin' she don't got da mojo. Bwonsamdi be as confused as da rest of us. And none of dem were eager ta see Sylvanas in charge.Who deals with death that would want to see Sylvanas in charge? The answer is Helya. You say "no way" because Helya was defeated and killed off in the Trial of Valor? On the Island Expeditions you can get an item called "Ring of the Reefs" if you take the ring to Valdemar Stormseeker he tells you Helya is NOT dead...Helya is NOT defeated "You cannot kill Death!" That's right, Helya has been retconned.Who in the realm of death would want Sylvanas as Warchief? HelyaWho in the realm of death had a bargain with Sylvanas? Helya. In Legion, we are never told what the bargain was between Helya and Sylvanas and it didn't matter anymore because we defeated Helya. Well like I said that is not the case anymore. So it would seem whatever bargain there was between Helya and Sylvanas may still be in play.
Better not be the Old Gods.
It was Elune, who else could it be? All souls collectors say - they wasn't it and from Comic ''Three Sisters'' we know, that the Void hates her too, so Old Gods are not responsible for that either. So there is only one powerful Entity left - Elune. And that fits actually, Elune created Naaru, so ''She'' is atleast one of oldest Entities in universe and understands Void better than others and She chose Sylvanas as most promising leader against upcomming shadows. Since Undeath resists Void/Shadow corruption much stronger than living ones. Just look at all three Lich Kings, or all Death Knight's, even with Saronite Armor - what actually is a Yogg-Sarron's blood, all stayed ''sane'' and showed no indications of corruption, even after spending much time so near to Old God. Elune chose exactly the right one, that one - who could increase Undead numbers and has the lowest chances of being corrupted by Old Gods. And if it turns out, that still it was N'zoth - that will be really the lamest plot twist of all :D
I can't roll my eyes hard enough. It's the same cheap trick every time.
Yer all wrong. Its not Old Gods. Its not The Legion. Its obvious what is behind what happened to Voljin.I made a video about the answer today. Good luck finding it though. Nobody has heard of me. I would link it here but I do not want to upset the admins.
I'd be interested in seeing Sylvanas discover that she wasn't appointed by the Loa, but by the Old Gods, and be furious at being manipulated into doing someone else's bidding. After being under the Lich King's control, she'd try to make amends, but not out of any real sympathy or regret. She'd just be giving N'zoth a big middle finger.
"Mueh'zala"...I realize I never did the new questlines introduced with Cataclysm, so... Where did you people even heard that name and who was it was ? :(
I never liked her since she returned. I never understood why she became Warchief. I just thought that Blizzard had no other idea. Well... It seems I was right. This means nothing and looks like they're trying to correct an old mistake. I just hope she will finally die for good. The Horde needs a proper Warchief.
