I feel like the core problem is weighting and balance of costs.Rank 4 vessels are obnoxiously resource hungry and the plug-ins are comparatively cheap. The expensiveness of the core material needed for Ranks 4-5-6-7 means that not only is Rank 7 the best for obvious numerical reasons, but it requires the least amount of expensive core materials to max out. This makes step-wise upgrading absurdly punishing, which seems completely backward for a game that otherwise relies on that type of gradual progression in every other system.Crafting vessels should begin and end with Rank 1. There should be a Vestige for every Rank beyond that and those should represent the bulk of the resource cost. Vestiges would be non-binding items that we give the Runecarver to upgrade an existing Legendary piece. He doesn't break the armor down between upgrades so why should I ever need to give him more than one vessel? It probably took more a lot more time and effort to purposely make the system more convoluted and expensive than it would've to make something much simpler and more approachable.
good luck with those legendary that need one material that have a cold down of 1 day to be crafted
Talk about completely misunderstanding the problem.
Cool. The essentia drop chance was really broken, far from random. Playing/questing/raiding always with a mate, he got 37 essentia and I got 3 since patch release :DGood change but sucks that I already bought a few legend items… ;(
What they need to do is put in a base piece scrapping system that will refund SOME of the crafting mats (even as little as 30%) what this would do is 2 fold. One, it would lower the cost of ranking up legendaries seeing as how the lowest base pieces are ridic to try and sell atm. Secondly, it would drastically lower the amount of lower rank base pieces flooding the marker thereby increasing their value on the ah
Wish they made it "significant" too. Took all my year's earned supply of Lightless Silk just to make six tier 4 cloaks. At this point let me throw 1k anima at a vendor and get 50 cloth.

In other words, developers miss point, bad system remains bad, no lessons learned. I really hope this convoluted mess doesn't stick around for 10.0.
