using the universally loved warcraft movie and the current MCU as a reference point for the series going forwardtotally a great and not out of touch plan!
As long as Ion is the lead designer, future expansions will be at max "mehh" level. There's still isn't a single word, or even an acknowledgment that they want to fix the work order / profession QoL things. We can't even search items by expansions in the AH. The group finders are a mess. The guild finder is beyond words. These are easy tasks to do, yet they don't want to. Makes zero sense.
All the people saying that Metzen was going to save WoW were huffing copium when we get them wanting to emulate Disney and now wanting to copy MCU. Actual garbage. The future of WoW just gets worse and worse.
Neat. Make the Arthas movie now thanks.
I don't want Marvel. I want Warcraft to feel like Warcraft again. Factions need to be relevant and in opposition to each other again in the narrative. We need separate questlines for each faction to play through again instead of the handholding, horde erasing, single-faction Disney narrative. Who cares about a "well planned" narrative that lasts multiple expansions if the narrative is bad, or foreign to what the game was at its peak?
Showdon't tell.
I swear, the playerbase's complete inability to read and correctly interpret English sentences is just as responsible for the negativity around WoW's story as the retcons and choice of direction are. What's the point in trying to please people who won't even try to understand what the developers are saying? Don't even bother, Blizzard. Just tell the story you want to tell, improve on the telling a bit more, and the people who actually like to read and think will probably like it.
I’ve played a WoW since Vanilla, and tried the Classic…I’m triying to figure out what the people commenting on this thread want exactly. There’s definitely been ups and downs throughout the expansions, but man those rose colored glasses must be an inch thick to think that the storylines were better back in ye olde days of WoW. 9/10 of my memories of Vanilla/BC times is talking to friends while grinding/farming, or traveling to quest points. Wrath had much more engaging quests and play, and some darker themes for sure, but none of that has vanished completely. There’s still plenty of darkness.I think it’s more about methods of executing storylines rather than the story itself. Vanilla quests were dense and text heavy, modern day quests immerse the play through much more interactivity, and dynamic play. It’s a different style of questing.
The thing about having an MCU style event is that you need to build up the story like MCU does. And I haven't seen Blizzard ever show that they are capable of that kind of storytelling.
I don't even know why i look at the comments ever. It's literally for the most part just a bunch of sheep that complain about everything and truly don't know what they want because its the same rose colored glasses robot script every time. People don't have their own thoughts they just want to hate everything because that's the thing to do.
I think I had an allergic reaction to that title. Please tell me they're just referring to interconnected storylines as we've seen a bit of with dragonflight where things like the infinite storyline and Tyr's reforging will come back later, and not... you know... everything else.
I'm still quite fond of the direction in Dragon Flightsa lot of npc developed, new zones and horizons for characters. We are now in a phase of building instead of "dark gritty destruction"and also, at last a LOT of new costomisation for characters : a lot of sets with bold design, roleplaying stuff (like different shovers)and as usual : great art direction.I was not convinced by Shadowlands which seemed too empty, but DF is quite full of contents and stuff to explore.
