If the team was interested in balancing professions again, like how Blacksmithing could create belt buckles, they could easily add in incentives for other professions the players could choose from to enhance their gear... That's just how it used to be--you took a profession and it could craft BiS for you and give you ultimate rewards. I think the socket-adding mechanic is fine if other professions gave players something unique and worthwhile too like how they used to.
i would love to buy sockets with conquest point or with a specific item looted from m+/raids.
I sincerely hope that Jewelcrafting does not have it's primary function relegated to RNG again. Two whole expansions with most/all gear getting a socket being tied to RNG, was such a major insult to any Jewelcrafter (not to mention the Heart of Azeroth taking away one of the two slots we could craft for a whole expansion).
Question here still is how high ilvl items you will be able to craft. If these items won't be end-game competitive then whole system will be basically useless as even for fresh level 60 chars it will be replaced too fast to make such customization worth hassle.Unless we have crafting at least similar to WoD one (items just below heroic raid gear) then this whole system was waste of developer time as it will see only minimal use (extreme min-maxers, twinks, etc.).Now if these reagents worked "reforge" style that is on ANY gear it would be completely different situation.
Did my reply just vanish?Anyways, not true at all. This is still in the game and you can buy them from vendors no problem in the new torghast realm. Bold claim to say something is removed only because spell category change.
Is there an option to remove a socket? Apparently, it's a negative when it comes to PvP scaling now.
