Did they ever actually say they would release previews of all the talent trees before alpha/beta? I honestly can't remember. Maybe they're going to do blog posts about some of them once the testing is live.
This is surprising in a good way. I'm very interested to see how this expansion goes. It's the first expansion since MoP that wasn't rooted in expansion-only systems. I'm very curious to see if the crux of the development woes really was building new systems from the ground up with every expansion since WoD. I'm rooting for the WoW devs that this goes well, and they've found the pain point in development.
Honestly this expansion needs as much "testing" as a large patch.Think about it - they are adding: * new zones (nothing really to test here, just quests and pathing).* new talent system - almost entirely already existing abilities which are already abilities or are currently shadowlands legendaries. This almost only a balancing issue.* dragonflight - already complete I assume - there is probably an unlocking system behind it to test which is basically a quest.* professions update - this is probably the biggest thing they need to test, lots of issues to find here. * new race/class - this is the other thing they need to test and get feedback on but you can be sure they having been messing with it for ages.* raid/world boss/dungeons - this is a testing sequence that already happens, player involvement is the same as always.
This is really exciting to see! I am very much looking forward to seeing footage of the Alpha/Beta and of course looking forward to it launching towards the end of the year. Just to appease the negative nancies on here I will state that there is a chance it might get delayed but I am choosing to remain optimistic instead unlike the vast majority of this community who's sole purpose is to just tear this game apart. I have faith in the Wow Dev team and I know they are working hard to bring us a great experience.
I don't think it's too soon everyone just wants to panic and cry there's really only 2 major things the new talent system and profession system that's pretty much it they said they've been working on it for a while and they still have like 6 months left everyone should chill out the first raid won't release until a month or 2 after it launches anyways so theres plenty of time to work on that as well there's no legendaries no influx of a ton of new systems only 5 zones about the total size of northrend so not too big only need to balance the first half of the new dungeons and the other 4 are reused dungeons so not too much work there there's plenty of time because there's not much to do for the launch of it at least
Why has everyone gotta be a negative expert? Just enjoy the ride, you really wonna stay in Shadowlands for another year? People hating on expansion releases is getting cringe.
So many senior devs in comment section :) lovely
putting on my rose tinted glasses I am going to say that dragonflight isnt early, its just that they put more people on it sooner... which is why shadowlands feels so unfinished. They knew shadowlands could not be fleshed out beyond the bare bones, so they pushed more resource into dragonflight sooner. Guess we have a few more months to see if the glasses are true or if they are just fanboy blinkers.
I wonder when we can expect the alpha then? Does anyone remember what happened with Shadowlands when its alpha got pushed to CDN?Could we expect alpha today, this week? Or maybe next week?
I really hope this dont happen.I really wish this expansion dont has a alpha, because it just servers to spoil everything before the launch.
