The only part about DBM that needs to be ´fixed´is when it counts down until an ability. With boss abilities that are like every minute, or every 30 seconds even, there is just too much of an advantage with DBM. The default UI has added a ton of great features that basically replace DBM....with the exception of the timer for long abilities. It is one thing to watch a boss´s health and know something is going to happen at 50%. It is another thing to know something is going to happen every minute, and have one player see it actually counting down and be able to time abilities within a second of it happening, and another player just guessing. Is this the first QA where they actually announced new information (being able to reorder your characters?).In my opinion, this has been the best of the three.
I lol'd....irl
I think we can all agree that DBM is essential to a raid*. As far as specific players go, you may or may not need it. Personally, I do fine without it, but that's because I like to play with the game sound on and I have decent reflexes and study the fights (yay Tankspot!). I'd still rather use it though, so I can choose where to put most of my focus without sacrificing survivability. And I sure as hell hope the guy blasting Lady Gaga over vent has DBM, otherwise the raid is doomed!*At least, if you want to concentrate more on having fun with your friends while being able to succeed, it is.
Milling and Prospecting are incredibly dull and very manual tasks at present, especially when you do them in bulk. Speaking as a scribe, the entire manufacturing process from herb to pigment to ink to glyph is both time-consuming, boring and sending me well on my way to repetitive stress wrist and index finger injuries.Bashiok said: Yes, we totally understand why this is a problem. The reason we can’t make it work just like other trade skills, is that we don’t know which herbs and ore you want to use. If you have some cheap ore and some very expensive ore, we don’t want to accidentally use the expensive ore. There are a few ways to fix this. One is we just redesign Milling and Prospecting. If they were recipe-based, then we would know exactly which material to use. It would also add a huge list of repetitive recipes to your Professions pages. We could also make some kind of new UI (think of something simple, like the Reforging UI) to let you drag and drop the materials you want to use. The advantage of the “box” solution is we could also use it for Disenchanting. What you (apparently) fail to understand is that putting a reforging "box" in wouldn't make it less tedious or painful to do this. And while Im on the subject, could you PLEASE make it take the newly reforged gear OUT of that said box, so it doesn't ask me if I want to destroy my epics? The whole POINT of what we're complaining about is that with every other profession I can get all my mats, click "Make everything", and then go watch TV or get a drink while it's being made, coming back in 5 or 10 minutes or maybe just letting it AFK off for the night while putting like 500 stacks of cloth into bolts. If you're going to make a box, please do so in the following manner to avoid wasting your and our time: Make it so it can hold a virtually unlimited amount of mats (or at least as many as I can fit into my bags) and then I click the "break all this crap" button ONE TIME and can walk away. Thanks
I'd suggest going to the actual forums to post that question.
I downed LK without any raid-barker addons. And I have 3 guildies in my regular 10man that do not use DBM. Currently 8/12 and working on Cho'gall. The only thing it really provides for the raid is we don't have to have people calling out every last ability. People can just watch for something to pop up on their screen and that can be the call instead of constant shouting in vent.
