Everytime i think I want to just stick to being a dungeoneer they do things like this. Conduits require insane amounts of stygia if you don't raid for the higher lvl ones. Now special gems. And seeing that the gems work everywhere then I'll definately have to raid for that gear.
Based on the wording, it seems like these shards will only be socketable in select pieces of raid gear. Meaning that m+/vault gear won't be eligible. I'm curious to see how the numbers crunch, and if a heroic piece of raid loot with a shard socketed will be stronger than a mythic (+14 and higher key loot from vault) ilvl piece. One thing is for sure, this will make gearing alts significantly more challenging.
Very death knight themed. As long as they are not active in pvp or they can be aquired through pvp i dont care.
Just to add to the mini-chorus: I hope they either make the gems and sockets available through other means or simply restrict them like the set bonus. Even the tertiary unholy and blood gems would make a real difference in m+ and pvp alike.Don't get me wrong I'd love for a chance to get these from content of my choice and I would be fine shoving them behind high keys, ratings or costs, but I can also see that Blizzard made these with the intent of making raid loot more enticing so it seems unlikely that they'll be added to m+ and pvp.
What am I missing? How is this interesting?
Winds of winter sounds insane for frost mages with their @#$%load of small crits. I just hope they rework the basic offensive a little.
Am I the only one or someone else think these shards' name sounds a lot like Diablo 2 Rune names?
Immagine starting WoW or coming back after a while, and trying to get familiar with endgame systems. Covenants, soulbinds, conduits, legendaries, ilvl-differences in different content on some gear, gems with unintetesting effects that only work certain places.. What's good? Valor, conquest, honor, soul ash, soul cinders, souls, anima, rubies, offerings... What's useful, what's not? How the hell would you navigate all this without getting a degree in Shadowlands and your class while on your phone on the toilet? And class balancing is a nightmare with all these systems. The argument of ability/talent bloat just falls flat. This is 100 times more complicated for new players than a few more spells baseline or a couple more talent rows. And why is it OK that shamans have primal strike and flametongue weapon that you should NEVER use but gust of wind, which was great, had to go? And why add arcane shot and steady shot to survival if bloat is a problem? There is so much stuff to confuse new players now... And the same stuff annoys existing players, and makes balancing a nightmare. And it comes with the "need" of more systems, like conduit energy etc.Jesus christ.. I wish they would just look at Legion and iterate upon what turned out to be a fantastic expansion. Shadowlands is the worst expac I've ever played (out of classic, wotlk, legion, bfa, SL).Yeah, I don't have a therapist. I vent in wowhead comments.
I mean, its not tertiary stat missives like I'd like, but I'll take any opportunity to increase my movement speed. Gotta go fast.
so as a healer i have to take a dmg shard to be able to get a set boni, or am i missing sth?and what about off specs? do i have to have a second set with different shards to be able to play off spec?and am i able to unsocket the shard and put it in a higher itemlvl piece?to be honest i do not see how this system is better than raid tiers were..
