The name of the icon is ''achievement_boss_ji-kun''.

Personally I think this is the new raven lord-style mount or the new pheonix style mount if you look close into the icon and compare it to the model.

What I find interesting is that it requires Exalted Venerabili Celestiali as does the new Redini della Serpe delle Nubi Tonante di Cobalto which is a World Boss drop. Click the icon: what does the name "achievement_boss_ji-kun" tell you?

Ji-Kun seems to be going for an archaeopteryx theme, being an ancient-looking, semi-terrestrial bird, but its appearance draws heavily from Bearded Vultures.

Rare drop from the boss Ji-Kun, dropped last night for our raid. Very low drop rate obviously but, oddly, the mount is NOT listed in the bosses loot table in the dungeon journal for some reason. Screenshot submitted with what it looks like.

Dropped on 10m Normal last night. The mount matches Ji-Kun or one of her children.

The /mountspecial (when performed on the ground) is the mount arching its head back and opening its mouth like it's catching the food from the boss encounter.

Just saw this tonight off normal 10man Ji-kun. It dropped off the boss and not a coin for my raid team. As previously stated it has the same skeleton as the challenge mode mounts and sounds exactly the same as well.

On a side note, finally some raid leader love. I won this beast of a mount with an 87 and half the team rolling in the 80s.

I received this mount yesterday on our weekly Ji-Kun 10HC kill, like other boss drop mounts it drops separately with the loot, not in place of one piece of loot, it will not drop on LFR, however it can drop on any of the following difficulties: 10N, 10HC, 25N and 25HC.

It dropped alongside Featherflight Belt and Leggings of the Crackling Conqueror. As has been stated in other comments it follows the same skeleton as the Challenge Conqueror: Silver mounts as can be seen here:

This item will NOT drop in LFR. You will need to do this boss on either heroic or normal modes for it to drop.

Since WoD, Horridon and Ji-Kun are now listed as loot in the Dungeon Journal. That means, they might be able to be obtainable with a bonus roll.

This still needs to be confirmed but it is worth a try.

Ji-Kun can be soloed by death knights, druids, monks, and warlocks at level 90. I'm not aware of what's going on with level 100 soloing for most classes as of the current moment, but it will likely be possible for other classes as well.

A couple of tips:

- Do all of the lower nests. Try to grab as many Primal Nutrient buffs as you can.
- Clear the larger birds that fly directly above Ji-Kun with a feather.
- You can drop stacks of Talon Rake by leaving melee range (all she does is spam Quills, which can be outhealed at 90 and even more easily at 100).
- The green pools from Feed Young will land on your position, so use that to your advantage.

Haven't seen this mentioned in the comments section, but pardon me if it's a repeat:

You can skip almost all trash prior to Ji-Kun.

After killing the second snail jump up the ramp and you'll be able to run almost all the way to Ji-Kun's platform and jump over without aggo-ing and fighting stuff if you keep hugging the wall. I recommend dismissing pets as they tend to act stupid and aggro snails at the last second - if you already made the jump, snails will get teleported to the neat, small platform of Ji-kun and chase you through the fight.

Mastodonte Kor'kron is dropped on mythic mode only by Garrosh Malogrido, the 14th and final boss of Assedio di Orgrimmar. It is currently listed in Wowhead's simulated "tooltip" as a 7.08% drop rate, but it's unclear how that figure was derived or which looting method(s) it refers to, since it can be obtained using traditional looting methods like Group Loot and Master Looter, as well as the newer Personal Loot. It's possible the 7.08% figure is inflated from inclusion of data during the Mysts of Pandaria expansion, when it was a guaranteed drop.

None of these mounts can drop in LFR. Note that you cannot bonus roll any mounts from any instanced raid bosses. Bonus rolls do work for mounts from Pandaria's four world bosses, Sha della Rabbia, Galeone, Nalak, and Undasta, though not for Draenor's world boss Rukhmar. You can loot mounts whether or not you can currently use/learn them; for example, you can obtain the reins to a cloud serpent mount before you become exalted with Ordine della Serpe delle Nubi. Percentages above reflect drop rates from actual data, and will differ from the probabilities Blizzard has set, especially with smaller sample sizes where "good" or "bad" luck skew the data more.

Ive been running this for about a month now. I clear the bosses leading up to Ji-Kun on my main and then use him as a mule with the LFG finder to share the lockout with my lesser geared alts. Doing 10man ive killed Ki-Kun about 65 times now. This morning i got the mount on my main after switching to 25man to close my weekly lockout loop. It does drop just keep working towards it.

My most prized mount. I have finished the meta now but I was running 25 heroic with groups each week working towards the Glory of the Thundering Raider and it dropped. We were all shocked. I somehow beat 8 others on a roll which was a surprise to me as I never win anything on rolls.

It's become my favourite mount now (and using the Elixir of Giant Growth to make it grow larger is awesome)

Just dropped this mount yesterday on my first attempt of Throne of thunder ever. So happy to get this. With the new expansion Legion out, the raid is now more easy to solo with classes possessing survivability skills. Highly recommend to farm this every week if able.

Despite sharing the "skeleton" with Al'ar and the pandaren phoenix, this mount lacks their jumping animation if used in a zone with restricted flight.

I've killed Ji-kun 9 times (7 on normal and 2 on heroic). Never ran ToT when it was current except for LFR. It dropped on my 9th kill on 25 man normal. What a huge surprise! I've really only been running it for the transmog items. It is possible! :) :)

So I recently got Prole di Horridon and decided I wanted to farm this mount for real. I thought someone might find it helpful to read about how I push my alts through this boss. I work under the assumption that Grinfia di Ji-Kun is more likely to drop in Heroic than in Normal mode (some evidence for this being true). It is also possible that it is more likely to drop in 25 vs 10 man instances (not much evidence for this though). I am typically killing Ji-Kun on 10N for ilvl 715-800 toons, 10H for ilvl 801-850, and on 25H for ilvl 851+.

So this is what I have been doing.

1. Move main toon and all alts outside of the raid entrance to TOT. Run TOT 10 man on my main. Kill all bosses up to and including Megaera.
2. Have your main create a group in custom with whatever name you want, with autoaccept on
3. Log out and in to another character that will complete the instance in 10N or 10H and sign up to the group.
4. Accept the invitation, enter the instance, accept the lockout and wait 1.5minutes until you become leader of the group. You can proceed during this time towards Ji-Kun. If you plan to change the instance to Heroic though, try not to engage any mobs as it will delay the switch. Remember, Gasteropode can one shot you!
5. Once you become lead, delist your group and kick the character with the original lockout. If you plan to kill Ji-Kun in Heroic, make sure to set instance at this time to Heroic and accept the lockout.
6. Run past any remaining mobs and get to the ledge that takes you to Ji-Kun. You do not have to kill these mobs, as they will deaggro when you get to the boss. Feel free to kill them though if you still are looking to obtain Guscio di Gasteropode.
7. Kill Ji-Kun and hope. Repeat again starting at step 2.

8. Once all toons that are completing instance in 10 man have been expended, log back onto your main, exit the instance, and set raid to 25 man (Normal). Reset instance and reenter.
9. You can now continue at step 2 for 25 man mode.

All bosses of ToT are soloable currently in Legion 7.2.5.
Easily did all of them in 25 Heroic mode on a 910 Frost DK(Ra-den included), though might be harder on some fresh 110s.
Which means farming the mount shouldn't need a group anymore

I swear to Buda i got Grinfia di Ji-Kun and Prole di Horridon on the same run. Kinda disappointed with Spawn of Horridon, was expecting more, but, im in love with the Ji-kun mount. So classy.

My advice is: run 25 Heroic

Apparently, the pets have a lower droprate than the mounts in this raid. I've managed to get this mount drop twice so far while I'm still missing the ji-kun and son of animus pets. 70-80 attempts so far.

Its funny because i did not even know this mount dropped i was going for that dinosaurs one then i was like f it im going to just finish the raid.then i saw clutch killed him was like o wow a mount dropped. Before that the ravens lord mount dropped so two rare mounts one day i would say that is a good day

I have been farming the Ji-Kun mount for about a year. I feel the Horridon mount has much bigger drop chance. I have got 3 Spawn of Horridon so far and have not seen any clutch of Ji-Kun.

You know what I hate? When other people get mounts that you have been farming FOREVER on their first try. Not only did this happen wITH (gradually getting mad) THE CLUTCH OF JI-KUN BUT ALSO WITH (me raging about mounts now) HORRIDON. ON. THE. SAME. RUN. (me exhausted from yelling at the caomputer screen when I see them get it) AND THEN LATER I SAW SOMEONE GET THE VALARJAR STORMWING ONE OF THE COOLEST LOOKING MOUNTS IN THE WHOLE GAME. ( my head explodes and I go in to a temper tantrum and not play wow for a month)

Oh right this is the Ji-Kun page! oops! You can only get it on heroic ToT and it is a very nice looking mount even though ( you scroll and read all the comments) It is a very rare drop.

Super lucky lately, got this on my 12th run, onyxia 2nd, raven lord 4th and invincible after 170, but got all these in 1 month plus a few other less rare ones like paragon boxes. super happy super lucky

Ji-Kun decided to have mercy on me during my mount run with my Feral Druid a couple of weeks ago and drop Grinfia di Ji-Kun after farming the mount for what seemed like eons! The mount drops on roughly a 3% drop rate from Ji-Kun in the Regno del Tuono. The mount drops on all versions of the instance, except for Raid Finder, so you don't have to worry about the difficulty of the raid. For those of you still farming the mount, keep your heads up, it will drop eventually! I'm rooting for ya!

Got it today (10th to 15th attempt, havent done it regularly and on different chars) on 25HC. Just a beautiful mount and really unique in my opinion.

Finally dropped for me. 29th attempt. No longer do I have to run that raid (got Spawn of Hordan already). Good luck to the other farmers out there!

I'm on week 4 of farming this, with ~30 characters each week. I know I'm overdue for it to drop, so I'm getting increasingly excited.
I've had Spawn of Horridon drop 7 (!) times, the battle pets drop at least twice for every boss that has them and picked up several Gastropod Shell

Edit: Got it! Somewhere around 120 attempts. It was my second to last character too, they did that to me with Nalak's mount last week also. Glad lightning finally struck both times though. Keep at it, I hope to see more of these around!

Is there some trick to this?
I have been doing this damned instance for months, on several different characters, as well as a few other dungeons.
I have had several other mounts drop from the others, including onyxia, both Drakes from eye of eternity, a few others and a LOT of pets etc, but from this instance I have one pet!
I wouldn't mind if it was an enjoyable instance but it isn't, it's boring as Hell with horrible bosses, I suppose the first once or twice wasn't so bad but after a million times it has become extremely dull and annoying!
As I have said before, Blizzard should increase the drop rates on these mounts and pets, thus opening up more game time to do other stuff, there is a shedload of things to do in WoW, especially if like me, you have a character for each day of the month, it would be nice to enjoy the game rather than suffer the tedium of "farming" items that are rarer than hens' teeth.

For everyone that is still farming that mount like i am.
You cant skip the cutscene after the Council of Elders fight (yes, its a short one but bothersome after 200 runs)
Dont go over the bridge, just jump down on the left side at the very start of the bridge. You can use immunity or anything else to reduce the falldamage so you wont die. Even if you die, you will spawn down in the cave.

Both this and the Clutch of Ha-Li mount have a bug making their lower jaws float below their head after Skyriding released. I've reported it, hopefully it'll be fixed soon... a little sad because these are two of my favorite mounts in the game

Bugged as of TWW launch.

Mouth pieces are no longer together, creating large holes and gaps that are visible through the model itself.
