Best Items to Upgrade for Holy Priest

Completing endgame activities in The War Within will award you with Harbinger Crests and Valorstones. You can use these currencies to upgrade items you obtain to their max potential (explained in this guide). Due to the more powerful items requiring the limited currency of Crests on a weekly lockout, it means your decision making early on can be difficult. In general, you want to prioritize items you've obtained at the highest upgrade track you can obtain, with the following criteria to decide on the item:

Strong TrinketsExplanation

Trinkets that you are unlikely to replace are always excellent choices for upgrading.

Main Hand WeaponExplanation

This is your first priority to get high item level, but you do have an alternative option in crafting if you wish. If you get hold of a good enough option here, it may be better to do this and switch your Spark of Omens priority accordingly.
Lowest Item Level Pieces Explanation

Following key pieces, bringing up the item level of pieces you don't expect to get hold of at a higher item level in the near future to remove the Crest requirement is best. Ideally you should do Helm, Chest and Legs first due to their stat budget, but after that go off sims.

Your first craft is an important choice but it's also a slightly convoluted one. Here are your options:

A crafted two handed weapon with Darkmoon Sigil: Ascension on it.

Hi there, thanks for all your work - however the Bracers linked as BiS recommendations from Uldir show a link to Robes of the Unraveler rather than the Void-lashed Wristband I assume it should be.

There is a better version of the Tidal Alchemist Stone called Abyssal Alchemist Stone. The item score per recipe is 410/425/440

Did you have the rings backwards?

For example, a low-level Mastery/Crit ring (desirable Holy stats) can be replaced by a significantly higher item level Vers/Haste ring, especially if it also has a socket.

Hey, I am a bit confused by the BIS lists. If I focus more on M+, not raiding, I believe, I should not center around mastery, right? Those BiS lists are good for raiders, isnt is so?

I dont understand the BIS List for Mythic+. In the Gear-Section you state that mastery is not very good for M+. In the BIS-section you list mainly mastery items for M+! Why is that?

Can I use the stones if I am not an alchemist? I am confused, I can create a work order but don't want to waste mats if I am not able to equip the item.

I've come across some pretty interesting trinkets from the super rares.

This one in particular is pretty op:
Wind-Sealed Mana Capsule?bonus=7935

It's a free mana pot when you drop below 50% mana and the passive bonus gives you a lot of mana back.

I'd be really interested to hear other Holy Priests experience with the Ruby Whelp Shell

I levelled mine up to 6/6 in the AoE heal, but in a combination of raiding and M+ scenarios it's been pretty underwhelming more often that it's been decent. I think this might be because it relies on being stacked up, rather than being at range - which is fine on certain fights but means it does very little if the group/raid is fairly spread. And by stacked up, I mean me being stacked with the group, as the whelp (for me at least) seems to pop up over my shoulder before casting the breath - I might be missing something here, but it doesn't seem to appear anywhere else and looking at logs of the various fights I've done with it, they back that up as sometimes it does little to no healing at all.

On the upside, the proc rate seems pretty decent (this might have been changed, because it's definitely proc'ing more often than people say earlier in this thread), it's just hit or miss whether it actually does anything worthwhile with the AoE heal.

I've read advice elsewhere that it's better to level the stat buff (haste or crit), as at least then you will directly benefit from something, on the majority of occasions.

Any thoughts on this would be welcome.

Update: Having experimented a bit more, I've started to get decent value out of the trinket (circa 3% of my overall healing in m+) by standing much closer to the melee. Whilst the whelp can spawn on other people, it seems to have a higher chance of spawning on me. I've given it a stay of execution!

The Dashing bilge boots aren't on the loot table for freehold as far as the dungeon journal is concerned for m+, best alternative are the boots out of Vortex Pinnacle.

Just an fyi...after running Freehold 44 times and not seeing the feet drop for any single person...i looked through the dungeon journal and noticed that they weren't on the loot table for M+. Save yourself some time and 3 days worth of grinding.

why is there no gear list for mythic+? i'd like to see your opinion to which set pieces i should have for dungeons as a holy priest. there is already one for raiding, after all

Sea Star is def. not a top healer trinket for 10.2 since it does not proc off from heal spells but only dmg spells. Hope this gets fixed soon

When are we fixing this bis list? this is completely wrong and doesn't match the section for stat weights at all. That's sad :/
The whole guide is very good and would be nice to have it all lined up at one place so we have consistent builds.
