Le Boucher
is one of the three optional bosses in
Cognefort
. He is a very big dps check and we recommend that you collect as many items for your raid as possible before attempting him. It's recommended to do him as your 6th Mythic boss.
This is a Mythic guide explaining the abilities, how to deal with
Le Boucher
, raid setup and roles, and class specific tips by various Method players as well!
As announced in December,
Method is working with Wowhead
to provide Mythic raiding guides for all the bosses in
Cognefort
and
Fonderie des Rochenoires
. Their other Highmaul guides are:
Mythic Kargath Bladefist
Mythic Twin Ogron
Mythic Brackenspore
Mythic Tectus

Abilities
Main lourde
(tank)
:
The caster is
Main lourde
. All attacks made by the caster strike the next closest target. If no target is found, the primary target is struck again.
Every standard auto-attack that
Le Boucher
does triggers an additional strike on the next closest target within 5 yards of his primary target.
It's very important that the tanks stand alone in front of the boss and stack up for this.
Le Fendoir
(tank)
:
The Butcher's Cleaver cuts its victims down to the bone, causing them to bleed profusely over time. This effect stacks. This attack will not apply its bleed component if it is avoided.
This stacking debuff can be avoided--you don't really put much focus on this ability.
L’Attendrisseur
(tank)
:
The Butcher's Tenderizer hits his current target for significant Physical damage and increases the damage taken by further attacks made with the Tenderizer by 50%. This attack always hits.
This hits for very heavy damage (which acts like the normal tank swap debuff). At the start it's possible to swap at 1 stack, but later it will be 2 stacks each. However you can be lucky with a good timer for the knockback to be able to reset it earlier.
For the second application of Tenderizer, you will need either a personal cooldown or an external cooldown from a raid member. Make sure to always have something up for that.
Crochet à viande
(tank)
:
The caster pulls in their target with a meat hook.
You don't have to focus on this ability, it's only there to prevent kiting strategies.
Enchaînement
:
Le Boucher
targets the largest clump of players in melee range and strikes them for massive Physical damage. The damage is split between all targets in the clump. Victims of Cleave are afflicted with
Blessures hémorragiques
.
This is the key ability for this fight and the one you need to pay most attention to.
Le Boucher
strikes the largest clump of players in melee range and leaves a physical dot on them called
Blessures hémorragiques
.
You want to spread out your raid in the melee camp: 5 people on the left leg, and 5 on the right leg. Each group here should also have an additional player (usually a healer) to run in and out depending on when you want each group to be the largest clump. You want to have 6 players on only one leg at a time so that specific group will get the stacks.
We recommend to rotate group at 2 stacks until Frenzy (30%), then you start rotating groups at 3 stacks each.
Enchaînement bondissant
:
Le Boucher
whirls in place, inflicting Physical damage to all enemies and knocking them back.
When Butcher gains full energy he does this ability. He knocks every player back and then he will charge to the biggest clump at range and do a Cleave on them.
We recommend the raid to stack up on the boss for this and have 2 mages outside in range solo-soaking it with
Invisibilité
and
Bloc de glace
.
Blessures hémorragiques
:
Le Boucher
's blade causes the victim to bleed profusely for Physical damage for 15 sec. If the victim reaches 4 stacks they will perish instantly.
This is the physical dot you get from
Enchaînement
. Each camp should take 2 stacks before Frenzy and then 3 after.
Make sure to use cooldowns if you drop low.
Blessures hémorragiques
does a lot of damage and your healers need to be on their toes and communicate raid cooldowns.
Players can take one fewer stack of
Blessures hémorragiques
before instantly dying on Mythic difficulty.
Frenzy
At 30%
Le Boucher
will enter a Frenzy phase. He deals 10% more damage and attacks 30% faster, which is why you can't maintain a 2 stack rotation anymore.
Cadavre corrompu par la nuit
These adds will randomly spawn around the boss. They will slowly walk towards the boss and detonate
Paléobombe
which inflicts splash damage within 8 yards.
Since you have a lot of people in melee and they need to stand still on their spot for
Enchaînement
, it's very important that these adds doesn't come into the raid and cause panic.
We recommend to use 4 soakers--we used 1 Restoration Druid and 3
Chasseur
s for this job. Spread them in a square around the boss, and let them do the soaking of these adds.
When you soak these adds they leave a purple pool on the ground called
Vitriol de Blafard
which inflicts Shadow damage every second and causes players to take 100% more damage from the Butcher's Cleave attacks. Victims are also slowed by 30%. Don't let this pool be close to the soaking groups!
The
Cadavre corrompu par la nuit
only spawn on Mythic difficulty.
Fight and Setup
Method's setup was: 2 tanks, 4 healers, 14 damage dealers.
Le Boucher
is a very straightforward damage race. Since you need to push damage as high as possible, you will then struggle on healing as a result.
Tank the boss in the middle of the room and have the 4 soakers standing around the boss in a square.
Have 2 mages standing outside the boss not taking any
Blessures hémorragiques
stacks, so they can solo-soak
Enchaînement bondissant
when
Le Boucher
is at full energy.
You really need to squeeze all the damage you have here. Have healers dps at the start for as long as possible and use
Rune
s (link) for extra main stats. You will need it.
Make sure you properly rotate cooldowns during Frenzy as
Le Boucher
deals extremely high damage during it. Damage dealers needs to be ready to hit their
Tonique de soins
button and to use personal cooldowns if they go low.
The Water Strategy
There is also a viable strategy where you tank
Le Boucher
in the water in the corner.
You can have one rogue solo-soaking all the
Cadavre corrompu par la nuit
since they will all come from the same spot.
This is a very questionable strategy, but since a lot of guilds did it and no action was taken to stop it from happening, we will just assume that it is okay to use it for now.
Class Tips
Sonie - Resto Druid
Use
Cœur de fauve
and damage the boss as much as possible for the full duration. I didn't even heal at all before
Cœur de fauve
ended, and we relied on a Holy Paladin to keep the raid up with cooldowns during this period.
You should easily be able to squeeze out around 2 million damage on this encounter if you pre-pot
Potion d'Intelligence draenique
.
Use
Incarnation : Arbre de vie
on this fight.
Le Boucher
is very mana intensive and the reduced cost on
Récupération
will help you.
Use
Transfert bestial
and blink into
Le Boucher
when he does
Enchaînement bondissant
.
Viklund - Shadow Priest
Use
as much as possible.
Use
for 10% damage reduction.
Smootie - Rogue
It's good to
Pas de l’ombre
/
La mort venue d’en haut
when he does the knockback from
Enchaînement bondissant
.
Useful glyphs are:
Glyphe carbonisé
,
Glyphe carbonisé
.
Sco - Protection Warrior
Personally I went with
for our 1st kill, but
is also viable.
If you time it really well, you can have
up for 2 Cleavers.
Aladya - Holy Paladin
Don't use
.
Gabzz - Warlock
All 3 specs are viable on this fight so choose the one you play the best.
Remember it's a short fight, so you will need to use both
charges quickly.
You can use your
Cercle démoniaque - Téléportation
when you're knocked back to reduce the downtime and gain a bit of dps.
Drquyn - Retribution Paladin
Play with
Courroux sanctifié
/
/
Esprit inflexible
(or if needed
for double sac) /
Soigneur altruiste
.
Glyphs:
,
,
.
Make sure to always pop glyphed
for physical damage reduction right before the first stack of the debuff gets applied to you.
Verdict du templier
will give you extra 10% damage reduction.
Use instant heals to keep soakers or others alive from heavy spike damage.
Bénédiction de sacrifice
tank on demand and use Blessing of Protection on the off-tank during Frenzy to avoid him taking damage for a few seconds.
