Dropped from Spotted Rockfang, I came to see where Zenet spawns and grabbed all 3 of them to aoe down and I was like oooh purple from skinning that must be rare as I’ve never seen it before. Well I suppose 0.01% is rare lol, I mean I’ve been mostly skinning since release and only now got it. We’re talking thousands of skins from the otter/beaver farming areas, where there are like 10+ of them in one area. All day skin farming a few times as well. It’s unlikely it just drops in the plains that seems a bit silly. But yeah I got this in the plains.

Grand échantillon de peau étrange is skinned as your 6th and last drop of Lanières de peau étrange for the week, giving 2 knowledge points instead of 1. It does not seem to have any less of a droprate than Lanières de peau étrange, but you must have looted 5 Lanières de peau étrange before this can drop for you. You can track how many hides you have yet to collect for the week in your Skinning profession window, after clicking on Curious Hide.

Aside from these two items, Os saturé has a much smaller chance of being looted from skinning, and does not seem to have a weekly limit.

All three items seem to be able to be skinned from any skinnable creature that normally yields usable materials.
