IS it just me or does it seem that there is nothing new at all, like engineering and tailoring + mining have the same stuff just different names, even the icons are the same. exm. Golle, walter same as jeeves or Molle. idk haven't read it all thoroughly but it looks like nothing changed, now new thingy that idk something that make this xpansion to stand out from the ones before. Mining always since BC low ores, some better ones then the ones that are rare, exm. cobalt=ghost iron, khorium=pyrite=trilium. And this expansion just increases the list, seems like it's missing a spark.Edit the meteorite for mining is new that's a bit like a spark but tailoring seems eh. And engi looks bad atm. nothing new at all just old stuff new names. Sorry I might be missing a lot just ran it with my eyes fast nothing cot my attention, nothing stood out.
What I find bizarre is the foolishness in
They really should just remove professions. Not being anti-Blizz... but every expansion is just cut-paste of the last expansion with new names. The devs clearly don´t want crafting to be part of endgame progression, and the usefulness of it while leveling in a new expansion is very limited also. In mop, you had drops (often blue), quest rewards, and heck, you could even buy gear for gold. It is very hard for crafting to fit into that mix.I have every profession covered on my max alts.. and I think it has been a few expansions since I made anything really meaningful. I max them, just to max them. JC and Enchanting get a little use.. but even then, I could just sell the mats and buy them from other people and probably save gold.
Looks like you'll want to go Alch/Engi again for challenge mode min maxing, because of new versions of the helm + trinket (which were bis)
Cant wait for some of the engineering gear (Gumm-e, new lootarang) to pop up on the auction house.
My most-used character is an engineer, so I'm excited about having more relevant perks (combat resurrection!) beyond the usual glove enhancement.Personally, I'm happy that gems and enchantments will be less pervasive. I raid casually on a few characters, so I'm tired of dropping hundreds of gold on nearly every new purple item I acquire (and then having to reforge multiple gear pieces to maintain the lowest necessary hit and expertise, which I'm glad will be disappearing). Gems and enchantments won't be irrelevant -- they'll obviously continue to be necessary for progression -- but they won't require nearly the same repeated investments.I'm also happy that garrisons can take some of the grind out of gathering. I've played this game since Karazhan was current content; I have much less free time nowadays, so the streamlining of leveling and gathering and etc. over the years -- and the diminution of various grinds -- is why I've continued to play.I'm amused by the complaints that professions will somehow be irrelevant or unnecessary in the next expansion. Yeah, you'll lose exclusive perks, but you can still benefit from every profession one way or another. Meanwhile, if you don't feel like leveling them, you can instead buy your way into upgrades more easily. How is it a problem that you can continue doing what you were already doing (if you liked it) or do it differently if you so desire? Never mind that, if you do choose to level a profession, you can now more easily market it to players who don't.
I wish there had been some achievements added for the primary professions, a bit like there is for cooking and fishing. Some meta-achievements rewarding things like professional titles would be great. I've always wanted my engineer to have the title "Chief Engineer".I know achievements are not everyone's cup of tea but it might give some people an extra reason to continue with their chosen professions. It will be interesting to see if the item squish will result in crafted armour/weapons remaining viable for longer in the expansion? Although I have no idea why new recipes can't be introduced during new patches based on previous recipes with slightly improved ilevel/stats to keep crafted items up with the latest content. It can't take that much effort, can it?I've always wanted the AH changed to allow people to place buy orders. It would stop the WTB messages in chat and would give a better idea on demand. It would be a big change because you will get more of a player driven economy. But will help professions as you get a better idea of supply and demand. I've even had to create an alt for the purpose of producing an item needed to craft something by another character because it wasn't on the AH and endlessly sending out WTB messages didn't result in anything. Putting a buy order on the AH might have solved this daft situation.
I like the changes personally. If people decide to stop working on profession and buy stuff off the AH more gold for me! No complaints from me. At least now I don't feel as bad when a character has two gathering professions instead of primary.
Will herbalism keep the Lifeblood perk? or not?
