https://realmpop.com/, a personal project by Wowhead dev Erorus, covers a lot of class/race data. Perhaps we could get a race breakdown for each class on our class hub pages.
It would've been nice to see the weapons broken down by type (if not each individual type, then at least by broad transmog category--Most Possible 1H Sword, Mace, Axe; Most Popular 2H; Most Popular Ranged; Most Popular Dagger; Most Popular Shield) though it's interesting to see that bows, daggers, and 2Hs seem to dominate.
Shows you play Alliance. :-) Chests are not significant for Orcs and Trolls, as well, since they hunch and their chest armor is only visible as color, not textures.
Hello Perculia and everyone else!1) When transmogging, I try to come up with non-set pieces so I don't end up with a full set. I would rather do something different than just collect all of one set. Because of this, I rarely use tabards; I find they cover up too much.2) I agree that a list of most-common shoulder 'mogs would be a wonderful article.3) There's such a variety of weapons in the game, maybe we could have that top-10 list broken down into several top-5's? Like a top-5 for ranged, top-5 daggers, etc.4) I like Aralnda's suggestion of a top hunter pets list.5) I see people complaining about lack of leather options... I don't know, I've never had much trouble making interesting and colourful leather sets? The problem I find is that I don't like the huge gloves and boots that give the toons that "Popeye" look to their forearms and calves... that really bugs me for some reason.
and this is my favorite plate set enjoy it :) http://www.cuckhead.com/list=6860123/paladin-random-plate-transmog-set
Very interesting. I didn't expect the CM sets to be THAT popular to be in the top 10 across all gear types. I'd also be interested to see the top 10 pieces minus the CM and raid sets, just to see what misc pieces pop up. Like the black mageweave in the cloth mogs. And I think the next look at transmog should check out Shoulder armor!
I had no idea that the Ethereum Life-Staff was so popular. Looks like have to get that one.
Love this article. There is some great information in here. I hope you continue with this series. Specifically re: the chest feedback. I play casters so chests are a very important piece of the mog as a robe. Most of the time I don't even bother to mog pants because you don't see them. Belts might be interesting to do as so many sets don't have a matching belt.
And for me, since shoulders (like it or not) are such a distinctive part of WoW gear, that is usually my starting point for mogging. Helms are pretty much universally turned off on my characters unless they add a LOT to the look. Trolls are just too pretty to hide!Any of the large belt buckles that look like mouths or teeth become VERY problematic on my female goblins.Since so many of my characters are trolls, I tend to mog to shoes that don't appear at all since half a boot very often just looks goofy.
Oooo I love stuff like this. Fun article Wowhead. :) Oh, and add me to the crowd wanting to see top shoulder pieces! It would also be nice to see a list of top worn tabards at some point too if it were possible. I know it's not something that can be mogged, but it would be interesting. Tabards are just so much more visible - I actually build mogs around them pretty often.
I'm not surprised to see the garrison armory's Blackrock on there, as it is really good looking on most races. What I am surprised to see is that none of the Replica sets from Darkmoon are on there, or more old school tier pieces. My main gnome mage has been rocking Arcanist pretty much since mogging came out.For the record, I'm another tabard-wearing mogger who tries to co-ordinate with a suitable tabard for almost all of my alts.Oh, and one more vote for doing Diablo-style reskinning by just unlocking access to a piece. My void storage and my bank are completely full on my main, the majority of which are items that I only keep around for possible xmog. I'd stop having any inventory issues if I could get rid of those items but keep the ability to xmog them.
I'll toss my hat on the 'no tabard' side. But aside from robes, chest pieces are the last thing I worry about on a mog. If it is a full robe - then it becomes more important. I tend to aim for a weapon look and match the shoulders to it since there is little escape from Blizzard's obsession with oversized shoulders. No surprise to not see see Draenor CM weapons on here as most are terrible not because it is newer. For the mail sets, someone mentioned it was all hunter. Well my hunter says you can have it. There are no sets I've seen that speak of hunter - you either have to want to dress in something I would classify as more rogue-ish. Also as a few have pointed out their only competition is shamans.Perfect world: Borrow from just about any other game. Make a transmog tab where you can drag WHATEVER you want (wanna bow on your gnome warlock... fine done.. stick it in the transmog tab), want your legendary Star's Fury in your transmog (cough) - fine stick it in the transmog window. Want that same bow you picked up on your rogue years ago to show on your hunter, fine - make that happen too because we all love farming - right?
I'd love to see shoulder data. I've wondered for a long time how popular Monnion of the Bat models were. I expect it'd be a lot more involved to combine the stats for "same model" and "same model + same color".
So I am Kruelia Been playing for almost 11 years (since day 1) and in all these years I came to the conclusion this is the best mog ever! what do you think? http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/quelthalas/Kruelia/simple*cheers*
