I'd love to see a breakdown on how many people transmog the old green sets, because Blood Knight Mail is *everywhere*. (Including on my own hunter, its why I notice)
As a monk, I wish there were more options with leather gear. I find that I keep going back to the same items because there's not much that actually looks all that great. :/
Sure, if people like this we can consider doing more in the future. Personally I'm curious what helms everyone uses.
I would assume helms would be significantly lower transmog numbers than every other piece except bracers and maybe cloaks.Another fun question; what percentage of characters have cloaks and/or helms turned off.
Personally, I would rather see a rundown of top shoulder piece transmogs. While the chest piece can certainly affect how the gear looks, if you're wearing a tabard (which I think most people are) the chest isn't always that noticeable. The shoulder items are always visible and in my opinion have a much bigger affect on the look of the gear set. Also agree with Venus236 about the leather gear. I've easily found and mogged a bunch of different cool looking sets for my cloth, plate and mail wearers, but I've had to look pretty hard to find good stuff for my monk and rogue.
for female night elf, the only appropriate helm I found throughout the game was:www.cuckhead.com/item=44109#modelviewer:4+1otherwise, I played with invisible helm.
Really nice graphs /facepalm
Is there no way on the charts to limit the percentage shown? So basically instead of showing 0 to 100, show 0 to.. like 2 percent? Would make them more useful.
Currently charts are new and there is no way to do that, perhaps we can add it in the future. Although I'm a bit sad that people would jump past the links, related transmog sets, and images to leave a comment snarking charts.
Or they could go completely radical and either use a total count which would show just how small the numbers were or logarithmic scale. Then again art majors avoid math like lawyers to a zone of truth.
I've deleted the charts since they're detracting from the discussion about what's popular and there's a lot of cool information in the article. If we can show sub 1% in the future or another way to better present the information, we'll add them back. I've poked Erorus about charts, when the weekend is over we'll discuss it more. There's an upcoming article planned on rare mounts, pets, etc so hopefully we can have something more effective by then. Charts are still a pretty new thing for us and we're still adding and tweaking things. Thanks!
I'd like a chart on what BoE's sell the highest for Transmog on the AH.
CM armour in the top 10 for every type, not even every class... Get the hint, Blizzard? /cry
Fantastic article! Though, kinda wish I saw the charts :P
This shows some interesting things on players and game, aside from "everyone shows off their challenge sets" or "people will mog anything if they can get their hands on full set", DK starter set or pieces from salvage for example.Mail section is dominated by hunter-only gear, and while they only have one class to compete with, it still shows difference in numbers. Two top weapons being hunter only also supports it, but it together with third weapon hints at other problem - there aren't many 'cool'/noticeable/good-looking ranged weapons or daggers, making players restricted to those weapons choose from limited pool. 4-5 specs using 2h weapons won't pull ahead of hunters or rogues mostly thanks to multitude of weapons that look good. Also, I agree with chest pieces not being really noticable in most cases, and shoulders or heads being more often picked for their appearance.
The chest feedback is interesting--all of my transmogs don't use tabards, and are specifically built around some chests that have a distinctive model. Maybe next transmog article could be top 10 shoulders transmogged and tabards equipped?
Unrelated to the article at hand (Which is cool! I don't see a lot of the leather mogs or notice them when they are there). Charts related to rare mounts would be great I'm actually really curious what the "Most rare" mounts are. I assume the Gladiators by a big margin but ZG tiger/raptor might be up there.
