It's moments like these that give me hope for the game and keep me playing wow
This was really nice and I hope they keep pushing and trying to improve.
Dan Lincoln is my hero.
They did what they were paid to.
Man HR is a $%^&*! in Blizz. At least Ybarra heard that person's request.
so we will have (or we already have?) a Lor'Themar model? i found it interesting a comparisonAlso i want to point that in some languages the Trees are not non-binary, they go and avoid mention genders at all which i found cool and give tree's a unique way to speakEDIT: A word
"Sacrifice is not singular"Ooh, that sounds like my assumption might be right
I think the point of the tweet was to elicit responses from the social activist angle but I absolutely love the people that gave game-centric examples. That's a fantastic headspace for someone working to create games at a gaming company to be in.
Love this!
Good that they support eachother. For sure. Not really confident about the quality of the work being done though. This does not only relate to this single post but a broad picture of what keeps being shared around by devs:They don't seem as passionate about creating a good game, or about being perceptive/sensible on in-game issues, as they do seem passionate about genders, art, pets and what not. I think that generally there are other jobs more suited to their passion than as game devs on WoW.I would guess that self-expression in games have attracted a certain kind of identity focused personality. Heck, even I fall for astrology, Hogwarts houses and personality tests every now and then. But prioritizing ideology and values (and allowing MTX) over keeping the integrity of the 17 year old game that is WoW, and changing it to what the new devs "feel", is not what a good game designer would do. What a good game designer would do in their position, is create a new game(universe) that has your values at it's core, and the gameplay you like and hope you attract a player audience that looks for that.I want the best for the people working at Blizzard, but I also want the best for my game!
I know the original tweet was probably looking for more of the outside game things, but I really liked the responses about things people wanted in the game and pushed for and got, or things that they personally made and were proud of. For all the talk about the negatives of the WoW team (coughwritingcough), it's nice to hear that the little developers who aren't high up in the company are able to provide input or request a change and that make a tangible difference in the game.
so they did nothing to improve their failing game and just added genders or non genders and art astethics to a dying game.neat! good for yall!
I was thinking the same thing….
