The Expansion Agenda—Where To Begin?
In 2006, when the release of the Burning Crusade was not too far away, I remember feeling rushed to level my paladin to the level cap before it was raised. I didn't think I'd manage to make it in time, but luckily for me I did, and with very little time to spare. In retrospect, this was also a bad thing, too, because by that time almost everyone had very little need or interest to go to instances like
Scholomance
and
Hache-Tripes
, which I needed to do for the quest chain to get the
Destrier
. Despite the setback, I was ready for the Burning Crusade expansion like most other people, and couldn't wait to start leveling my paladin again.
And then came the day of the expansion's release. As soon as I picked up my preordered copy of the Burning Crusade, I remembered thinking, "Forget my paladin, I want to play the new races!" That's right, the level 60 paladin into which I had put countless hours of work was abandoned because of a brand new Draenei Shaman on my character list. I spent a month or so leveling my shaman before I finally realized that all the time that I had put into my new shaman should have been used on my paladin instead.

WTB Time to Play WoW!
There is some unexplainable satisfaction I get from having a productive and meaningful day, even on those really long, dreadful days. But, for me, once all my work is done, all I want to do is go home and relax without having to worry about any work other than the typical daily housework. That would be so nice if every day was like that, but in reality, what is supposed to be my "free time" after a long day will, more often than not, delayed by more work that needs to be done.
I don't remember the last time I was able to devote
any
of my free time to World of Warcraft. In fact, the last time I've played the game was over six months ago. I probably haven't made any real progress, like leveling my 77 paladin to 80, since before then. Maybe it's because I've had less and less free time over the last several months, but it's not like the amount of free time I have now is scarce.

Looking Back at 2009 and Forward to 2010
Here we are, folks, right before the start of not only a new year but also a new decade. Hopefully, next year will provide us with new opportunities, new inventions, maybe even new resolutions—although, on second thought, I've really yet to meet someone dedicated to carrying out a New Year's resolution—and hopefully more happiness to everyone around the world.
Today we should take some brief time to look back on the year 2009, and take a moment to remember all the changes in our lives. It could be something as simple as getting a car. Or maybe you have a memory from something WoW-related, be it inside or outside the game itself.
What is your best memory of 2009?
Remember, you can include something WoW-related! And
what are you looking forward to when 2010 comes?
I've included a reflection of my own here, as well as one of
Togikagi
's. If you're interested in seeing the reflections, they are immediately after the break. :)

Blizzard Authenticators: Are They Worth It?
The Authenticator is an excellent tool that keeps unwanted hackers out of your account through a nearly infallible method. However, this device also has the potential to cause a
lot
of inconvenience for the account holder, oftentimes more trouble than it would cause for a hacker. I can say from this personal experience because I’ve gone through it twice already. After the second incident, it really made me reconsider whether or not the Authenticator was worth the hassle.
The first time happened was when I went on a trip to Northern California.

New Details on Cataclysm Dungeon
I realize I'm a
little
bit late on this, but I suppose it's better late than never, right?
Last night, Zarhym posted an
announcement
about an upcoming expansion whose details have been added to the
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

The Abyssal Maw
and is expected to have an ocean-like setting. The updated page has been linked below.

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Addiction King!
Once upon a time, there was a Wowhead user who had a hard time managing his schoolwork because of World of Warcraft. But, as he had been playing WoW for over three years, he was reluctant to cancel his subscription. After a week of contemplation, he finally found enough strength to cancel. He even e-mailed Malgayne to have his Wowhead account banned too, hoping it would help his attempt to quit WoW.
The account’s next billing payment had been due in a week, so he figured that it would be a good time to cancel the recurring subscription. After that week had passed it was official: his WoW account was no longer active and his Wowhead account was banned until his return. Unfortunately, this did not stop him from continuing to read both the official forums and Wowhead’s forums. The urge to resubscribe was growing bigger by the day, but this user was determined to quit anything WoW-affiliated altogether until he could get his life back under control.
Fast forward to sixteen days after his WoW account became frozen. He was home sick and had nothing to do, and he was starting to feel better that day. With just WoW on his min

World of Warcraft - Cataclysm!
This information

The Return of Onyxia—Patch 3.2.2
That's right—
Onyxia
will be making her return in Patch 3.2.2, scheduled to be released in honor of World of Warcraft's fifth anniversary!
To give you a basic rundown, Blizzard's plans are
Converting
Repaire d’Onyxia
into a level 80 raid, with both 10 and 25 man modes.
Changing the current loot to par with its level 60 version to a level 80 version. Presumably, there will be a loot table for both 10 and 25 man modes.
Adding a flying mount with 310% flying speed named
Rênes de drake onyxien
to the loot table. Modeled after Onyxia itself, the mount is expected to have a low drop rate.
Changing to the level of difficulty so that it scales from its difficulty at level 60 to level 80. This means those who enjoyed Onyxia's challenge should not see a change in difficulty—essentially, it just scales up to level 80!
But that's not all! Once the fifth anniversary of WoW begins, players who log on during this time will receive a limited edition pet named , similar to how players who logged on during the fourth anniversary received a

Priest Q&A with Ghostcrawler
It looks like
Illidan Stormrage
was
right—I am not prepared! Who would have guessed Blizzard would release two Q&As in one day? ;)
One of my favorite parts of the interview is that Blizzard's considering removing the "backlash" from
if the target is within "
" range. The other part is that Blizzard wants to make Shadow talents that improve the overall damage of Shadow Priests, so that their damage is not penalized in cases where DoTs are useless. But enough chit-chat—let's get to the interview!

Rogue Q&A with Ghostcrawler
Much like the rogue class itself, Blizzard decided to be pretty sneaky and release the Rogue Q&A as one of the last class Q&As. Maybe they used some rouge to hide it? :D
For the most, I enjoyed reading the interview. I like that Blizzard admitted that a few aspects are in need of a fix, and that they defended a few decisions which negatively affected rogues. My favorite part of the interview was about
Disparition
and its current functionality—but have a look for yourself! You can read the entire interview after the break, or read the original one linked below:

MMOs: Not Just For Kids!
So here I was, reading through the official forums, when I found a thread that looked interesting. I'll spare you the unnecessary details of the thread, but the person who wrote the thread claimed to have been eighty-eight-years-old when it was written back in April of this year. You read it correctly—an
eighty-eight
year old, and I'm not even kidding.
That thread reminded me of an experience I had back while I was leveling my paladin during Burning Crusade. Intriguing? Read on!

Increase in Hacked Accounts: Cause for Concern?
As someone who's been reading and posting in Blizzard's
Customer Service Forum
for over a year now, I can tell you that I've seen my fair share of complaints. Sadly, though, I've been noticing an increase in one particular thing—the amount of accounts that have been compromised or "hacked."
Should this be a cause for concern? With the number of compromised accounts increasing by the day, in spite of the numerous warnings Blizzard has put out, maybe it's time to both clear up the misconceptions as to how an account can become compromised and remind ourselves what we can do to prevent a compromise from happening—or for some of us, from having it happen again.

Paladin Q&A with Ghostcrawler
As a player whose main is a Paladin, this was the interview I was looking forward to the most.
