Correct, since haste is more effective for almost any spec in lich king.
Thanks to Focused Attacks and Master Poisoner, having a fast attack speed is a big dps boost to assasination rogues, allowing them to keep poisons up more reliably without spending talent points on improving their poisons.
In combat, the well known combat potency, sword spec and slice and dice combination has proven over time to be great dps, especiallly with windfury + boodlust/heroism.
Although it's not the best stat for a rogue to have as subtlety, you will still benefit from your group and raid members having it as long as you have Honor Amongst Theives.
Haste is starting to play an even bigger role in 3.0.2 / lich king than it ever has.
Nobody should ever be turning down the opportunity to stat haste for PVE, even if you only end up having a small amount.

For Assassination, hit is less of a concern than it is for combat. From what I've got so far, 60% or so of my damage is from Mutilate - which has a 9% miss chance. 5 points in Precision, and I only need 4% worth of hit rating. After that, haste, then crit, add a lot more DPS than hit for mutilate builds.
For combat, this is really less for you...55% or so of combat's damage is from white attacks. Having seen a lack of hit recently, I'd say Blizzard is pushing for more dagger rogues...combat seems more PvP than before, and likewise, Assassination more PvE.
So, combat rogues...better start geming that armour, and enchanting those gloves..

Ok, now that I've rested myself, I can handle some maths. Here we go:
Now, lets assume that in a given amount of time we autoattack 100 times, and 25% of those are misses.
100 * (1 - (25 / 100)) = 75
75 hits then land for our base group. Now, lets add in 25% hit.
100 * (1 - (0/100)) = 100
100 hits land. Now, lets see what adding 25% haste does:
100 * 1.25 = 125
125 * (1 - (25 / 100)) = 94
Only 94 hits land. Therefore, hit is better, right? But wait...
Hit does not cause more crits. It simply replaces a "miss" outcomes with a "hit" outcome. Haste causes more attacks at the given crit rate, and therefore, more crits.
Now, lets assume that we have a 20% crit rate. With 25% +hit, we get:
100 * (20 / 100) = 20
20 of those attacks are crits, which hit for double normal damage. Therefore, we have a total of 120 times the damage of a single swing.
With 20% crit and 25% +haste, we get:
125 * (20 / 100) = 25
We get 25 crits. Add this to the 94 hits, and we get a total of 119 times the damage of a single autoattack. So hit is better, right? But we haven't yet considered talent synergy or scaling.
Mutilate and most SF fists builds are energy-starved specs that rely on Focused Attacks procs for energy regen. This means that the extra 5 crits fed 10 energy back to the player. Although this may not seem like much, in the long run, it comes out superior to the extra attack you gained by stacking hit.
HaT relies, for the most part, on the crits of raid members to feed it, but it benefits also from your own crits. Although the difference relies in large part on RNG, haste will probably come out on top here as well.
As for deep combat, the Prey on the Weak talent increases those 5 extra crits you got by 20%, which results in additional damage equal to one autoattack. Therefore, both stats result in equal white damage. However, since the damage bonus from haste is concentrated in fewer attacks, there are fewer offhand hits landing, and therefore less CPot procs. Hit comes out slightly ahead here.
HARP/raid hemo is the same story. Without PotW, and with CPot, hit is clearly ahead here, although the difference is still marginal.
Now there is one more thing to consider. The amount crit we assumed in our calculations was very low. I'm still entirely in level 70 epics at level 80, and I have considerably more than 20% crit. Because the value of haste scales proportionally to your crit rate, its value will be much more by the time you're through EoE than when you were starting Naxx and Archavon.
NOTE: All of my calculations were done considering hit was poison capped and expertise was capped. Until you reach the yellow cap, hit is your most valuable stat. After that, expertise is until it is capped, and then hit is the most valuable again until your poisons have been capped.

My main is a ret pally, but i have an alt rogue. I picked this up with a pub group on our first attempt at archavon. This thing is really good for rogues, but lacks hit. I socketed it with 1 AP gem, and 1 ap/hit gem. This thing ungemmed has around 250-275 AP for rogues. Get this unless you have the 138 chest from naxx.
