The Mage Tower Challenge encounter for Enhancement Shaman is The God-Queen's Fury. This challenge is one single encounter consisting of 3 enemies, and will test your ability to juggle multiple lethal mechanics at once while also keeping up the pressure on specific enemies to meet damage checks, and keep yourself alive through constant damage and crowd control. While this doesn't have an Enrage timer, it does have instances of damage checks that must be met during certain overlaps to avoid death.

Best Enhancement Shaman Gear for Mage Tower Challenge
The TImewalking version of the Mage Tower Challenge follows Timewalking gear rules. Your gear, trinkets and stats do matter, but all your gear is scaled down to a maximum item level of 50. In order to maintain a similar challenge throughout expansions. many items and abilities have been deliberately disabled including:
Shadowlands Covenant Abilities, Old Legendaries, Tier Sets, The Heart of Azeroth Essences and Azerite powers/gear

To avoid unnecessary farming of past expansion gear, this guide will be aimed at getting your live character through the Mage Tower Challenge using mostly items readily available in the current expansion. Particularly powerful items from past expansions will be noted below but shouldn't be necessary to complete the challenge, though they may give you an additional edge. Optimizing Past Expansion Gear for Legion Timewalking Mage Tower Challenges
Enhancement Shaman Stat Priority for Mage Tower Challenge
For Enhancement Shaman, you'll be following the same priority as current gear. Due to the strength of the
Elementalist
build variants here as the encounter perfectly suits it, Mastery is even more useful than usual and should be prioritized if possible.
Agility > Mastery > Haste > Critical Strike = Versatility
Due to the encounter having ample opportunity to spread

, alongside a very high uptime of

our damage profile is heavily skewed toward Mastery enhanced damage, so this is definitely the option to stack. Furthermore, Haste isn't as necessary as we can regularly guarantee 3 stacks of

providing extra throughout the encounter.
Best Enhancement Shaman Consumables for Mage Tower Challenge
When it comes to Timewalking gear, you can enhance yourself in a multitude of different ways not currently available in this expansion. While these extra enhancements and enchants might give you a slight edge, they shouldn't be necessary to complete the challenge. As such, we'll mostly be looking at what current consumables and enchants you can use to help your character in the challenge.

Generally speaking you'll be taking Trinkets that we would use in any regular PvE content. Any endgame options that are relevant in current content work out just fine, with a preference for having at least one on use burst option to deal with specific moments in the encounter.

The encounter heavily favours taking an

build, due to the near permanent low target cleave opportunities throughout the encounter to funnel into targets. It also has a much better, more frequent and condensed burst option thanks to

to deal with key moments in the fight. Utility options lean into improving our self healing so we can tank damage comfortably without worrying about dying, giving more room to deal with mechanics overlapping.

Enhancement Shaman Mage Tower Challenge Walkthrough
Below we'll provide a breakdown of the Mage Tower challenge encounter detailing enemies and abilities used, as this is a single phase encounter, and offer tips for dealing with each mechanic.
The Scenario itself is a council fight at the entrance to the Halls of Valor, containing 3 separate NPCs:

The latter two are inactive until you engage

, which will begin the encounter, and you will have to deal with all 3 of them at the same time.
Periodically throughout the encounter, Odyn's Valkyrs will drop a
勇气之球
somewhere within the arena that heal for a significant amount if you come into contact with them, so use these as an emergency healing tool if you're falling behind on health.
All 3 enemies have a linked health pool, but different total health amounts. That means that as the encounter progresses, they will exit in a fixed order until the encounter ends:

is the weakest with 215k HP, and will exit the fight first when he reaches 0%

leaves next with 246k HP, and will be present throughout the fight until it ends.

will be present until the encounter ends with 287.5k HP, and is defeated when she reaches 20% health.

A hard hitting melee target, however if you move too far out of range will resort to casting

, which will launch 3 very painful axes in an arc around the room that can be avoided. When engaged he will try to follow you unless you move too far. He has two significant abilities that both need to be dealt with individually:

- increases his damage dealt and attack speed significantly, but also slowing him by 40%. When this is active, drop

and stay out of his range. Also be prepared to

quickly if he gets a swing in, it's very painful.

- deals significant damage each second when you are close and constantly drag you toward him. This can be stunned via

, which should always be available when this happens and saved for this moment. If this is not ready however, run out of melee range until it ends and try to heal yourself through the damage, then quickly move back in to avoid

As the caster of the council, Faljar will repeatedly cast
暗影箭
on you throughout the encounter as his form of attack. This can be interrupted fairly aggressively to reduce damage, as other things requiring your interrupt have a significant cast time to allow it to recharge. Faljar again comes with two significant abilities to deal with:

- spawns 3 runes around the central circle of the room with varying sizes, that shrink at different rates. You need to immediately run over each of these runes (ideally in the order of size
from smallest to largest
) to prevent a detonation, and if any do shrink and expire you'll take likely lethal damage and wipe. If you absolutely cannot cover ground to get them all, an emergency

might save you.

should be saved for whenever this is cast, and you should drop everything and shift into
幽魂之狼
to get rid of them ASAP.

- triggers a large health shield upon the cast beinning which you need to quickly burn through and interrupt him with

before the 20 second cast completes, as the damage will be lethal. This is the only important damage check in the fight, so save any burst trinkets or cooldowns for this and you should be fine. Banking some

and then a follow up

will also likely break the shield on its own if you plan ahead.

Finally, the primary and most important target comes is Sigryn, who will engage you in melee. Throughout the fight she will cast

that will leave a damaging Fel patch on the ground, so while she is active the room will become progressively more limited. There are two options available to you depending on how much you want to deal with the mechanics, but both of them involve using
妖术
:
First:
The damage oriented option means you can stack all 3 together and deal as much as possible to end the encounter quickly. You will likely need to watch your health more, but for less time. Whenever
邪父之血
begins to cast, immediately stop what you're doing and cast
妖术
to cancel it. Continue on as this will quickly break but thankfully, the re-cast is on a long timer.
Second:
The slower, but safer option has you dragging Sigryn to the edge of the room and using
妖术
on her. Do
NOT
break this and deal with the other two on the other side of the room. When this eventually breaks, run her back out to the edge and Hex her again when the cast is about to begin (diminishing returns should have ended by now) and repeat until the encounter is over.
Regardless of which option you choose, I would strongly advise using a macro so you can immediately respond to the
邪父之血
cast without worrying about having to find the right target. A simple one to use is:

When she is active, she has two significant mechanics to deal with:
黑暗之翼
- summons a wall of Dark Valkyr at the North, South, East or West edge of the room with one gap in their ranks. You need to find this and stand in it quickly, as roughly 5 seconds later they will rush across the room and deal massive damage if any come into contact with you.
邪父之血
- applies a pulsing AoE effect to Sigryn that will ramp up each second, but can either be interrupted mid cast with
妖术
or
电能图腾
, but
not
风剪
or
裂地术
. If this cast completes, you should immediately
妖术
her which also pauses the effect, left alone the damage becomes unhealable quickly. This is why being aware of the diminishing returns state is important, as you may find yourself unable to re-apply this if you are too aggressive and then have to deal with this being active.
Gameplay Tips
The most important aspect to this challenge is not to panic over different effects. Damage is not a primary factor, and instead executing mechanics and survival will lead to success much easier. Pay attention to your health bar and sustain yourself by maintaining
大地之盾
and using
治疗之泉图腾
whenever you have spare globals. If you ever fall behind you should have ample
漩涡武器
to spare for a
治疗之涌
cast to catch back up or if something goes wrong.
It doesn't matter at all which enemy you target
, just hit whichever is closest to you and is most comfortable. Try to maintain
鞭笞烈焰
and
烈焰震击
on all 3, and note that you can get them stacked up if you interrupt Faljar's
暗影箭
, and stand next to Jarl so he doesn't default to casting
掷斧
. Sigryn won't leave you alone unless you're CCing her away from the group, so don't worry about keeping her stacked.
The key to this fight is dealing with
邪父之血
correctly, if you can manage this ability either through chain CCing her in a corner and waiting for DR, or simply CCing her when she casts the ability and waiting for it to fall off.

when you feel you are falling behind, or alternatively if you don't think you'll be able to clear all 3

spawns and one will go off to potentially survive. It will also

It is important to note:
Sigryn = Hexxable
Faljar = Interruptible
Jarl = Stunnable
You can stun Jarl during his whirlwind or just before it goes off and it will stop him, same for Sigryn, you can hex her just before her cast (its ok, to get hit once)

Been working on this for a bit, nearly got it down. When this was originally out I did this challenge successfully as a Demo lock so it's been fun to learn it as enhance.
Tips I've learned so far:
-Earth Ele can tank axe boi for a bit at the start, even when he enrages, so you can completely ignore him for a while.
-Never put Flame Shock on big girl after the first/second or you run the risk of it breaking Hex (Hex/Cap Totem timed properly to interrupt her initial cast and she can be broken out, but if she gets it off, she has to stay Hexxed)
-Have a macro to Hex big girl and Wind Sheer casty boi
-The fight is relatively scripted and only starts changing after they hit around 60-70% ish, if not even later. There's a few events that always line up the same way. Notably, big girl does her cast the first time on the 2nd spawn of purple soaks, so you can time a Cap totem for that. A minute or two later, axe boi will whirlwind and she'll cast a couple moments after.
-There's some RNG involved that can make some attempts impossible due to spawns, but -usually- there's something you could've done different. Be very, very careful about blowing Ascendance, as it's outright mandatory to use it if you ever have to range break casty boi
-If axe boi gets mad at the same time as a double/triple purple soak you're gonna have to probably Cap totem him, and be very mindful of big girl... Or be very good with Earthbind timing.
-You need to find a balance of Hexxing big girl and not. Diminishing Returns can and will kill you, but it can also alleviate a lot of stress at key times.
-Healing Stream often, heal with Healing Surge often.
-Save Bloodlust for towards the end. There's a point where casty boi shields up like 2-3x in a row and your only sustained burst for that is Bloodlust really. Bonus points for having Ascendance there. I haven't made it past that rough checkpoint yet ;_; (I did originally down this challenge on another class, rip re-learning it)
-Axe boi getting mad same time as casty boi shielding is a really rough combo if they're close together already. If they arent, Earthbind him immediately and burst hard. If they are, I hope your Ascendance is up.
-Purple soaks + valkyr girls (Sylv simps) at the same time = you have to quickly judge how many to soak before getting in position to dodge. This is an RNG element that can make some runs impossible, but -usually- proper timing, use of Spirit Walk+Ghost Wolf, and such can make it through it. Also Astral Shift can let you survive a soak. You'll take about 80-90% of your max HP-ish though, but it is possible. Healing potion or Healing Surge immediately after.
-This fight is very, very, very long. Don't try to rush/zerg it. It is entirely execution based. That being said, early on, cleaving the 3 together can smooth it out by reducing total time, up until around the first/2nd stun on big girl.
-Always dodge Sylv simps
-Refresh Earth Shield often
-It's easy to lose track and forget to refresh Windfury Totem. This is a very, very long fight with a lot you have to do very often, and maintaining multiple CCs, dodging/soaking mechanics, and keeping yourself healed up while still applying damage/pressure means you can sometimes forget. Just refresh it semi-frequently if you have spare time/are getting low Maelstrom procs.
-Srsly dont Flame Shock big girl later or you'll feel bad when it rips her Hex and she Flame Shocks you harder :(

Another fun fact that is not included in the guide is that there is a 6:30 minute enrage timer, after which she will do mega damage and basically 2 shot you.

Took them down by putting as much dps as possible to avoid triple casts at the end of fight. At start pop all cd's, pot and lust, interrupt caster and stack them all on Jarl. Cleave as much as possible and dot every boss (i used Lashing Flames talent, which helped to do more damage when running around), facetank Jarl's damage buff by using stun and then Astral Shift.
After this, do the mechanics as normal, except make sure to hex/stun Sigryn cast before it goes off, which will allow you to break cc immediately and continue to cleave all 3 bosses stacked, just make sure to keep Earth Shield, Healing Totem up. Can also stun first Bladestorm cast, which will, at same time, prevent Sigryn to cast.
Astral Shift can save from Valkyr dash, if runes are in bad spot.

One of the easiest specs here. Did with absolute trash gear as level 58 and no consumables besides

. Took me around ~30 tries (where ~26 of them ended before boss reached 50% as I was too greedy). Only worthy items I used were the hellscream heirlooms as I didn't have other 1h weapons to use.
Here is my hps (with Crusader) and dps breakdown of the fight.
My stats: 19% crit / 16% haste / 30% mastery / 8% vers so nothing to fancy. Tried to aim for haste on every gear piece, other stats are whatever.
Followed few comments that others posted including:
- Bloodlust/Heroism at the beginning (in the end caster NPC casted twice

After 10.1, I encountered that as their health got low, Faljar would begin to spam Ancestral Knowledge. Having to burn through three shields back to back made it impossible, even with short cooldown burst trinkets (was doing 5-6k dps during burst windows). I decided to completely ignore this mechanic by popping defensives to survive the cast (used one of the darkmoon trinkets that gives a large shield and is easy to buy off the AH). I was able to finish the challenge a lot quicker by being able to use all of my burst to delete boss health rather than to break the shield. Just unload on Sigryn from start to end and GG.

Did this today, not much to add to the guide except, "but can either be interrupted mid cast with Hex or Capacitor Totem, but not Wind Shear or Sundering." is wrong. As of right now the Blood of the Father cast can be interrupted with Sundering.
