After seeing the movie i have only one thing stuck in my head...i want new casting animations.
Did anyone else think the depiction of Dalaran was a bit too... Blood Elven in architecture?I liked that Karazhan had a flightpoint... much like the one that is on the in-game Karazhan, despite it not being active.I, too thought the 'being' in the 'cube' was Aegwynn, even when I saw it in trailers - and when I saw her green eyes in the film, I became certain that it was due to her 'encounters' with Sargeras. Also, is the cube entity pronounced "a-loh dye" (like in the film) or "a LOW dee" as I'm sure I've heard in the Legion Beta...? Thoughts...Is there any credibility to Medivh's final 'phase' being a likeness to Sargeras, due to Aegwynn's passing the fel-taint to him during birth? As to the Golem Medivh was sculpting, I wondered if it was supposed to represent The Curator... but thought, subsequently, that The Curator was an Arcane Golem, rather than an Earthen Golem as depicted in the film...Is it just me that picked up the 'explanation as to why Garona is half Human' (as Duncan Jones, I think, hinted) being the implication that Medivh could be/was her father...? I used a spoiler, here in case others may have missed any of the pre-release coverage.
A quick google search brought up this one;Lakeshire CompairsonAs well as a scene in the Lion's Pride in that resembles this;Warcraft: Orcs & Humans Mission Screen
Oooh... Were the deaths of Durotan & Draka lore-twisted, as I seem to remember in 'Lord of the Clans' (?) that Durotan & Draka were assassinated on the orders of the Warchief for defying him - I don't remember Durotan being involved in Mak'gora in 'whichever book it was covered in' (in case I got it wrong, here).
Finally; which Blackhand is depicted in the film...?The WoD one was supposed to have sacrificed his hand to the fire elemental gods (?), not lost it in battle & fel-seared the 'stump'.
The movie lore is on a different timeline than the game/comics - what we know about Garona from other media doesn't necessarily carry over to the movie.
Alodi was actually mentioned and shown outside of World of Warcraft before Legion. He was in the manga (Warcraft: Legends, Volume 5) in a story called The First Guardian. Legion is just the first time he's brought up in game, but not in lore.
Yes the in game boomstick references are also homages to Evil Dead and they started back in WC3:RoC (the dwarves rifleman lines). I'm just saying that Duncan has mentioned in several interviews that he wanted to pay tribute to Raimi, for handing over the reins, and that's why he included that particular line.
Might be an Easter egg (below), and I'm not sure if it was mentioned. When Lothar and Khadgar go to see Medivh at Karazhan, Moroes brings them to him. Lothar questions Medivh's carpentering scenario, and he mentions, "I'm working on a golem." There's a large golem statue in Karazhan, right before Curator in-game. This made me smile. Might be that one, but who knows.
The credit song isn't the World of Warcraft login screen. This is the real song used in the credits.EDIT: I'm a new user can't link but the song is "Warcraft" Score by Ramin Djawadi
Did anyone else hear the stormwind bell when the council meeting happened? Or the blue moon in the sky in the background?
Anyone have any thoughts on this one? "If you watch closely in the background of one scene, you can see evil warlock Gul’dan chatting with the big bad guy Mannoroth from the Warcraft games."The is the article: http://venturebeat.com/2016/06/10/warcraft-fans-should-watch-for-these-easter-eggs-in-the-movie/
