I thought this thing about Blizzard hate Shamans was only in Retail. Seems I was wrong.Looking at the Runes, you can see this.First, they gave WF to Druids. removing one of the very few things that make Shaman unique in Classic. And btw, Alliance now has Windfury, but nothing for Horde.Then, they put Dual Wielding and Lava Lash Runes, to kill the 2H enhance dream, that Shamans only had some hope about it in Classic, since Shamans ask for 2H available to Enhance again in Retail since, idk, since Cata (I don't really remember), and they never did. (They even bring back DW frost DK, and Monks can chose if they want to use DW or 2H, but nooo 2h Enhance).And looking at the Shaman Runes, all of them are: DW, Elemental, Healing or Tanking oriented, theres nothing that benefit the 2H usage for Shamans.I'm very happy about the Classic + thing. But congratulations Blizzard, you shattered the Shaman fun again.
Crazy, i dont like this idea. As a seasonal things - it is fun. But for long term perspective - NO. 80% of these spells are just OP and does not fit Classic at all. They completely undermine initial designs of each class and reduce classic RPG elements like resource management. They give strong Retail vibes, thats not good at all. Most of them just "Do instant huge damage for literally free" or "Buff you for 20% more damage and 30% crit damage". This is crazy, these spells are so customs. Even spells from Private servers are not like that.Again its going to be fun, but it is not Classic at all, developers certainly failed to grasp the Vanilla essence. Dont call it Classic+, it is Retail-
Also, these runes make all classes very same - which is again Anti-Classic. You give unique abilities of certain classes to other classes. However, the paladin passive fear dispell is interesting, but i would redesign at least to proc it for 6 seconds only when you can non-instant Holy spell, for instance.
If in the nearest future Blizzard wants to do Classic+ based on SoD class redesigns - they better dont. That is not the right direction.Classic+ is about expanding/going further with initial Vanilla 2004 philosophy, not massively redesigning/revamping it and making out of it custom iteration of Retail.
druids get windfury! but only a feral dps is going to take that slotshamans can tank! but they don't get the level of mana return paladins will get from being healed (tank paladins are probably not going to pick up crusader strike), nor will they have the utility that ret paladins are going to be bringing with a pseudo-replenishment on TOP of the already superior blessing of wisdom and judgement of wisdom to the casters/hunters. Shaman will get mana back on block but their block rating will not be very high to take advantage of that and they have to choose between conal aoe threat or mana return from mana shield. either way, they will be drinking a LOT and slowing down groups. rogues can tank! avoidance tanks, which never really works out all that well in this game in these eras. mages can heal! this will be interesting to be sure. they are basically a regen based atonement healer. they won't main heal by any stretch and if their hots don't stack like how druid hots dont stack, you would never have more than one in a raid. warlock tanking is the most interesting one, since it can get it's tank abilities and the non-channeling always on drain life. however drain life before level 40 does horrible damage and unless all of the quest rewards and crafting has seen changes there is practically no spellpower. also warlock pets didn't exactly get avoidance and will continue to have their classic era problem of survivability in group content.
looks like classic players have to press more that 3 buttons in SOD. don't know if that goes well with the core player base
Wait, so if Druids are getting a Windfury buff what will be the point of going Horde? Alliance will gain WF and all the Pally buffs meanwhile horde don't get anything to make up for loss of Pally buffs...
Rogue is going to be stupid in pvp. just a permanent retaliation. Just a Flesh Wound, Main Gauche, Blade Dance. Not gonna be able to touch them and when you do all they have to do it blind, eat or restealth. Wont even need envasion. No hate on rogues but they will rune PVP for sure if it stays like that.
Sooo Boomkins with unlimited wrath? Am I understanding that properly? Or is it just a cooldown. Personally I am super excited for this and I can’t wait for all the crazy pvp shenanigans
