For human rogues the is acquired from looting a chest in the human starting area that spawns at 52.53, 51.97 in Northshire Valley. The chest is between two wooden outhouses right by the farm where you kill Defias & collect the grapes. There are two level 3-4 Defias Thug guarding the chest. If you're soloing this lower level be aware of the patrol that passes right through the area by the trees & gets quite close to these outhouses. If you pull from behind the outhouses you can keep an eye on the other mobs in the area.

Once you learn the rune you can apply it to your gloves and gain the ability . This ability is great for all builds & can be used with daggers, swords & maces. However, this ability can only be used from stealth. Serves as an excellent gap closer with good damage to engage targets from stealth & is particularly helpful on combat or assassination specs who do not have the stealth movement speed bonuses that subtlety has. For those using swords or maces who can not use ambush from stealth this is a perfect alternative.

The range is good on . I would say it is just under the maximum of your throwing knives or ranged weapons.

In the Night Elf starting area, the Rune is obtained by clicking on a bird idol that is on the roof of the entrance to the main building. The roof has 3 levels and it's on a side beam on the lowest roof level. You can see it from the ground.

As a undead Rouge, it was very interesting that I loot it by pick pocket from a Scarlet at level 5 before I finished the quest.
