I used to run Kara with my guild during BC, I ran through the first few times trying to get my T4 gloves and helm. Well my gloves dropped about the 6th or 7th time in and I got them. But I still needed my helm.At the time our guild KZ runs were spilt into 2 diffrient nights I was there every day Tuesday and Saturday no matter what for about 3 weeks but that helm would not drop! Then for about 2 months I start having to go to church on saturday nights. (When we did the last half of KZ) the helm dropped every other saturday for the 2 months.Eventually I was allowed to stay home for the raids and I started going again I ran for about 5 weeks it dropped the first 2 weeks (I lost the roll on both) it didnt drop the third or fourth week. when it did drop on the fifth week I lost it again.(I decided it was no worth it anymore and quit going)after 2 weeks of not going they needed me to fill an empty spot.I ran and it dropped I won the roll by 15 from another guildmate.I almost brokedown in tears I was so happy XD
Being a lore-freak and all, i wanted to get some of the really cool lore based weapons. I decided to go for Ashrbringer. This was before WotLK but after BC i was on my paladin and my guild were awesome enough to take time from their ZA raid to do Naxx for me. We did it as much as possible for 2 straight weeks (i think). The last try we were getting tired of it not dropping and my guild was ready to just quit. I convinced them to go 1 last time then we can stop. Last time it dropped lol. I was so happy. My guild master on Teamspeak was screaming "ITS FINALLY OVER!" and everyone started laughing. That was probably the best epic drop ever in my experience playing.
Shortly after Lich king came out i decided to finally level up my fishing skills past 1. I figured to head over to IF since I could level and maybe catch Ironjaw or some other achievement fish in the process. I read up on Ironjaw and suggestions how to catch him on various websites. I then grabbed my best rods, bought a few more to swap out as I leveled skills.Skip ahead past three days of non-stop fishing. By now I was up to 321 skill and had watched 12 people come in fish for a few minutes, catch Ironjaw, and leave... I was getting really ticked about their luck, not to mention fingers that were starting to cramp up...I told myself, I'd fish to 325. If i didn't have him then, I'd give up on him. Two casts before skill of 324 I caught him... and then proceeded to bump a key and drop him... After a few minuted of mindless "OMG WTF did I just do" and blank stares at the screen... I decided to try another spot. I failed at the lava ledge, so i figured what the heck and cast into the Mystic pool by where everyone teleports in.By now I wasn't really caring if I caught him again, I'd already past the 1,000 fish achievement long ago and figured I'd finish out my skills and move onto Dalaran for something there... I had reset up my tabs so if I did catch him, my finger wasn't near the "cast" button or anything else similar. To my happy surprise, I caught him again about 400 casts later just after 441 skill :)Old Ironjaw didn't get away this time. Instead, he will forever rest in my bank. The next time I get grumpy with fishing for something, I can look at him and say to myself, "just a few more casts, maybe I'll get lucky."
when i got my mr pinchy!
Most Epic loot that has ever dropped may just be when I first raided MC.It was my first raid, I hit 60 that night and they were already at Majordomo Executus. There was only 38 people and I happened to be the only druid that night. (I felt pampered! There was 4 others in the guild lol)So anyway, took 2 attempts to get the Majordomo down and when the chest appeared I had no idea what loot dropped from where but to my utter beliefs there popped a Finkle's Lava Dredger! I was the only person in the raid that could use it (as everyone else was geared out as is) so it went directly to me, set me back a ton of DKP that i didnt have, but oh well! ^_^Then, to the big kahuna! Ragnaros! It would be the first time the guild has ever taken him down, and I was just proud to be there! So we put in 2 hours on that fight alone and on the last attempt before we all had to go for the night we finally killed him. We screenshotted the kill, made forum posts and I was shocked to have the Stormrage Leggaurds! I was the first druid in my guild to get them!First and Best raiding experience and has kept me in the raiding lifestyle for 3 years now =D
Way back in the day when i was level 50 something or other (56 i believe) i was in plaguelands farming to get a disgusting oozling, of course with my luck being my luck instead of an oozling i got a Krol Blade, which made me kind've mad because i was a druid, it was an epic moment of failure and good luck/bad luck, did fetch a pretty penny though
The time i got my full pvp set was pretty epic. Spent months getting all the honor and then finally got to get my set :D
I wish there was a summary for hours fished for Mr. Pinchy. I fished for that guy for weeks and weeks. I made alot of money selling crawdads on the AH. After probably 6 months of fishing, at least 10 hours a week, I caught my first Mr. Pinchy. My 3 wishes were 2 Furious Pinchy's and Pinchy's blessing. I was so mad that I cancelled the blessing right after I got it. In the next 2 weeks I caught Mr Pinchy 2 more times. Still no damn pet. I did however get another 2 Furious Mr. Pinchy's. My "epic loot" is the 3 rare catches, but all I have to show for them is 1 Furious Mr. Me.
