Not really a gold farmer but I did want to mention the easiest way for me to get spare parts (and the quickest) was by fishing around Mechagon. I still have a WHOLE lot in my bank I've yet to use now that I've got flying and the portable ocean.
What kind of server do you play on? Have you considered different strategies in relation to the population of your server?I play on a high pop server. So it seems the most money there is mats and alchemy since more people are in the raiding community on my server.
Had my bank alts since I first started farming Insane in 2009. Still have them on my old server and don't have the heart to delete them.Currently, I have 2 bank alts since my main 1 has run out of space so moved all my reagents to a 2nd bank alt (Both druids for burst of speed and instant mounting). It is basically a dumping ground, but filling 1 full-tabbed guild bank on my main with unobtainables and vanity items is worth it.I prefer to use the Legion Dalaran AH because it has the Blood of Sargeras vendor and I don't need to visit the bank often as I need to clear my current bags before restocking and due to the nature of the items that I sell. It could take awhile. Also using 12 alts atm to farm pet tokens and augment runes to sell at a huge profit.Since I have been playing since release on a single main. I have a lot of resources to spare, but having the option to convert spare parts into War resources will definitely be handy, if I manage to run out.I won't be using the spare parts for gold making atm as I need to contribute to and build constructions for my new title. Any person with alts needs Altoholic installed and at least auctionator. I know that most people don't use it anymore, but I have sniped quite a few items from Undermine Journal.
My uncle, cousin and I use to share a bank guild together but as they've quit playing I now have my bank character in his own guild and use the guild bank for everyone else. I'll also send some stuff to my engineers since they can use mechanical AH. I never thought about using a bank toon with movement abilities so guess I missed out on that but stormwind isn't too bad anyway.
While I've gravitated away from low pop realms on my newer toons, in part because of the often poor AH, my main toons are still on a low pop realm. The worst part I've noticed on my main server are the fluctuations in what sells and doesn't. I can go a week or two with dominating the market for something like an old WoD enchant that is selling well(even if at a lower price since it's so old), then one or two other people jump into it and boom...dead. That can make it feel like more work, but just checking in occasionally and paying attention to what is happening(people resubbing for new content, new race releases, etc) is the only real strategy I've found that helps for my realm.
This article showed 1 thing - people who claim there's no population disparity between alliance and horde or the difference is "only" 50-something to 40-something are basing it on websites that count all possible logged once characters and the real number of active players is way way lower, as much as 20 times lower and you cannot base balance statements around numbers that have probably like 95% of their database made of old data and inactive players. A bit of history here, when Blizzard introduced sharding technology, they upped realm capacity since a big upsurge of active players like expansion launch could be solved by sharding. Unfortunately that made it look kinda bad on the spreadsheet as majority of realms were of "low" status. Somewhere around patch 7.3.5 they reverted it back to old classification and majority of realms went from "low" to "medium" overnight without any in-game reason for it (happened months before BFA launch without any big event happening at that time). This gave people false idea that majority of realms aren't low pop anymore, just because Blizzard changed the labels. They also didn't connect any more realms after MOP despite many of the "low pop" realms could be glued with 20 others and still wouldn't reach the player numbers the "full" realms process every day. After CRZ low pop realms also lost the advantage of "easy to camp rares" status, only thing left is BMAH advantage, I know rich goblins make alts and transfer gold to odd french / german / spanish realms in the eu cluster just to snatch BMAH deals for much lower prices than their motherserver. Trading overall is much harder on low pop, unless you farm mats by hand, because it's much harder to restock & resupply when the availability of mats is very low and at wildly fluctuating prices. And even then while you can easier "corner a market" your potential customer base is much smaller and it will take longer to sell stuff.
Yes, there is some serious gold to be made crafting the F.E.A.S.T., but I also want to save the spare part crates for the neck upgrades.
Wasn't sure on what to do with spare parts since I've gotten bored and just farmed them since I have the blue punchcard that increases the amount I get. Hoping I can make some money now thanks to the vid.
I might just be a lil weird, but I've never liked having an auction house alt because they seem like wasted space. However, maybe I just have never gotten too seriously into gold making to warrant one. I think it would be awesome to be able to have a high level alt or whatever just be used for your auction house needs with the auction mount - that way you can be anywhere! Although, needing a spare guild bank might be important, but I've never had the need for such.
I actually missed that I can get the vacuum cleaner to farm the fishes, so that video was amazingly helpful <3 Keep up the good work, I love your content!
I play on a low population server too, and in the last few weeks I've been able to make good gold selling Battle-Scarred Augment Rune for 500g each that I get doing daily raid/dungeon finder as a tank.
Every new zones they add are new places to farm gold and thats super cool becouse we will never run out of gold making spots.
I try to consolidate all my sales on a single toon and am in the process of selling my extra battle pets. Apparently lots of people farm those. I've made a couple thousand gold but I'm at a complete loss as to how people have millions and millions of gold, unless they're selling achievements or gear or M+ runs...
Other than Mechagon food, I also sell pets. Although I only post craftable pets one at a time and wait for them to be sold before making another.
I play on a medium pop server. I'm making a variety of items like new feasts, food and mounts. I post regularly on those items besides Notorious gear, not sure I'll keep making it.
How have you been picking up the Spare Parts? Have you been converting them regularly? What else are you doing on Mechagon to make some gold?Mostly with chests and farming at junkyard depot.
I play on a really low-pop server (never knew until I looked at the charts!). I can make some gold mainly selling mats and certain crafted items that are consumable. At the beginning of a patch I make more gold selling drops and crafted weapons. The AH has been pretty dead lately, and I'm trying to figure out what players will buy regularly.
I used to play on Tol Barad way back in MoP and it was really awful to level up professions or to make any kind of income but I am gladly moved to another server now and casually making tokens/sub money.I wish I could still use my characters on Tol Barad for raiding and im hoping that cross faction raiding becomes a thing too because I was alliance!
I never thought about methods to convert spare parts to Gold.I have stacks and stacks of them that I don't have a single use for
