The benefits are simple, everyone gets loot sooner or later, the RNG gods can be harsh but are not biased, keep playing, you will get what you want. There's no reason to bring back ML abuse simply for a quality of life that will only benefit some tryhards while will bring abuse back for many players, also reminder the main abuse happened in guilds, not PUGs! Because when most guilds that raided on your server/region/specific time/progression ended up being ML, you had no real choice over it so "just got to a PL" guild was rarely ever an option.Thankfully Blizzard removed it and it is never coming back! And no trading it without restrictions will bring back the same problems since guilds can force people to give it up and steal their loot to give it to someone else.
While I agree there should be some sort of Bad Luck Protection to combat the "one piece of loot from end of dungeon chest", I worry about how it would be implemented if you get a group that has 4/5 people that haven't seen a drop in 15 runs. How would the system decide who gets it over the others? While you can argue that this will be combated by the selection of gear from the weekly chest, I think the 1 per dungeon is a silly choice on their part. But who knows, maybe I'm just a glass half empty, but I would love to be proven wrong come SL launch about many of the mechanics and systems in place.
master loot needs to be an option in full guild groups, period.
Bring back ML for those of us who want to use it, thanks. Tired of getting sick pieces of gear that I can't trade to someone who needs it more at the beginning of a patch because of some arbitrary item level restriction.
The change was to cater to a mass of people it never affected and only hindered the people who did actively used Master Looter.A few random people getting their gear ninjaed in some makeshift pug was not worth screwing over the progression guilds who used Master Looter responsibly to gear their raid in the way that best helped progression. And if you did join a guild that abused Master Looter, quit and find one that doesn't. That's a bad guild and you shouldn't be wasting your time there anyway.
The issues will only get worse if there's significantly less loot dropped. The system direly needs a few tweaks, this article does a great job of explaining why.The number of times we've been frustrated this expansion because a scenario like that presents itself is just too high. Seeing loot drop should be exciting the vast majority of the time, but in the current system there's a solid few weeks every tier that are full of groans of "aaaand I can't trade it", and that's just not fun.
HAH.... as if...
I think personal loot is a really good thing, but everything coin has two sides. it destroys some guild because many people leave, and it makes players unstable, people move to different guild frequently. people become more and more unloyalty.and some small guild without a good raid can not find more people to join the raid then it is a Vicious circle.
"Has the only forced solution worked better than giving people the choice between master loot and personnal loot?" No.You would atleast need to be able to trade the loot how you want.Personnal loot also encourage armor stacking.Personnal loot should drop more loot if your armor type composition is more varied.Something like if 50%+ of your group is the same armory type you get 1 less piece of loot. Most mythic guilds used master loot without problems. It was working, and the code was already in game. It's like banning all cars because there's some cars accidents.Atleast Shadowlands won't have titanforging. Gotta take the small wins.Edit* Also Hi Ralph, but you totally dodged most of what I say, begone troll.
Wait.. if we only get one piece of gear from a M+ chest, what's the incentive to "2 or 3 chest it"?
I agree, Blizzard should remove stupid ilvl trade restrictions
A frustration not mentioned is that different weapon types aren't affected by personal loot. If I have a 475 staff, but a 430 main hand, I can't trade a 475 main hand that drops. If I have a 475 bow, and a 450 polearm, I can't trade the 475 polearm that drops. This makes it really hard to gear up certain classes/specs that may be underrepresented, even when peoples mains have had the max ilvl of raid tier gear in their main spec for months.
Removed
Because many casual guilds also do mythic these days so the amount of guilds that actually bother by mythic is far higher therefore the possibility of abuse is far higher.PL works because everyone gets loot sooner or later, there's 0 discrimination possibility unlike when humans are in control.
Just remove the requirement of needing to equip that iLVL before you can trade that iLVL.
no. all it does is make gear distribution and loot rolls more annoying. lots of pointless cross chatter, and simultaneous rolls, then to find out its not actually tradeable.
