Really? he thinks shadowmeld is overpowered and has always played horde. Then why don't he just roll Alliance and tries to do KR without a priest, or fight Zul without magic purge or blood elves
Mythic+ dungeon mostly afficted by sanguine! freaking tol'dagor with 95% of mobs fleeing towards the puddles at low health >.>
Bursting was nerfed to tick 5% a while back, I'm expecting it to be easier than Volcanic.
"you have to be horde to get the best gear, gear is better than shadowmeld" nice click bait, description destroyed barely reading into this.
It's funny how every single week, one of the least affected dungeons is always Atal'Dazar :D
I really hope they add blacklisting of old dungeons. I hate Gnomeregan because it's sooo long and boring and half of the group always doesn't know where to run. Now when dungeons scale, we can run it till 60. I would certainly blacklist it.
It's funny how he says that Raiding is a primary factor for people to switch sides ... and yet nothing has changed since Legion, when most of top Alliance guilds went Horde. So good job blizzard, looking at factions balance, nothing in your game encourage you to play Alliance, even the most important end game content.
Please keep the discussion on topic. Thanks!
Yes, lets nerf another Alliance racial ability, when there's only 30% of all players are Alliance. Lets make this game for Horde Only!btw can anyone explain why shadowmeld is OP? What it does really in Dungeons+ ? When you wipe, you can save yourself from repair cost?
"Raiding and arena are still the kings of end game content, and you won’t see players faction transfer solely for M+ until it becomes a more legitimate format."I'm struggling with this thinking tbh. M+ is a nice addition to the WOW endgame experience and it helps to keep dungeons relevant and (somewhat) fresh all expansion but why does he think it needs to become "more legitimate" or take over the end game? M+ is pve so you are never going to go toe to toe with anyone except on a very temporary basis in the artificially created environment of the MDI open to a very few select people. You're essentially just matching yourself against a timer and that can't compare with arena where teams are going head to head with each other in game as well as in tournaments or with raiding where teams move from one raid to the next over the expansion as the narrative progresses. A new dungeon is consumed in about 30 minutes (though m+ will keep it fresh), a new raid in 1-3 months: however high you push keys that's always going to be built into reward structures."right now you have to be Horde to get the best gear"Well that's a plain depressing comment as it pretty much sums up how faction imbalance is driven by player impressions rather than reality. It's simply not true."unless M+ loot is put on more even footing with raid loot"They are never going to do this. It takes 30 minutes to complete a M+ and unlock the entire loot table and it takes a few minutes to find 4 other people with appropriate gear and experience to group with. It takes a huge amount of effort to maintain a guild roster, build a raiding team, learn and fine tune tactics collaboratively and months to progress through a raid instance and unlock particular loot drops. Raiders get one lockout a week, M+ has no lockout on loot at all. They already removed tier (a mistake imo) so BIS power items were not ring-fenced in raids and it's hard to see what more, if anything they could or want to do. It's meant to complement or fill the gaps in the raid schedule not replace raiding as end game."For as much as people complain about power creep and how wildly more effective their characters are at the end of an expansion than at the beginning, the reality is that people would probably get bored in a world where every raid offered marginal improvement over the previous tier"The game worked exactly this way for years and worked just fine. Loot is almost always RNG based with few guaranteed rewards so big ilvl hikes widen the gap between the (current) 380 guys and (newly leveled and HC / M0 geared) 340 guys. When the gap between you and the groups advertising for > "x ilvl" gets greater it's harder to get your foot on the ladder. No problem if you have a group boosting you or unlimited time but in general you have further to travel to catch up.
I disagree with the comments regarding loot and item level regarding player power progression.People still got excited for new gear of it's only a few points different. If a piece is better it's better! I get bummed when I get a 5 level boost and the secondary stat isn't what I need. Cause it's probably not an upgrade.IMO this is something creeping in from moba and battlegrounds to appease a different generation. This is supposed to be an RPG.Whatever though, it's quickly becoming easier to not resub. Went over a year during the wod drought and came back for antorus. Now I'm out out until... 8.3, probably next expansion though.
This is the kind of thing that just makes me shake my head and be glad I'm an aesthetics guy. I couldn't imagine changing races because their racial is just slightly better, let alone changing sides. Personally, adding speedrunning competitions to WoW never seemed like a good idea and changing things based on the viability of it seems like an even worse one.
