You get the Darkmoon Field Guide either by completing the quest that you pick up from the Darkmoon rep in your capitol city, or by asking the "greeter" who is just to the left as you enter the Darkmoon Faire grounds.

I did the "End Time" dungeon last night and got 5 Grisly Trophies. I'm not sure how many will drop in raids. This will take a while to complete.

Also the reward for doing this is 10 tickets, not 1 as the current Wowhead description says.

UPDATE: Did Molten Front dailies and picked up 41 more trophies. This is very doable in one week.

Here's a quick way for non-dps specs to complete this quest. This method requires you to have unlocked the The Shadow Wardens portion of the Molten Front daily quests.

Accept the quest Enduring the Heat. While running through the cave, stop over each Flame Protection Rune which will grant you the Flame Protection Rune buff; this will negate most of the incoming fire damage. Allow the elementals to spawn and attack you until there are about 6 nearby. At that point, use the rune to instantly kill the elementals. The elementals tend to despawn if they've been around too long without being attacked.

Repeat this process for all but one of the Runes so you don't accidentally complete the quest. Run out of the cave to reset the runes.

Edit for clarification: This post is assuming Blizzard changes the quest so it works as it is worded: "Trophies are obtained as long as you kill creatures that offer experience or honor." This is a way to get 250 kills at level 85, against mobs that grant experience, without swinging a weapon.

The Grisly Trophy being an ear is most likely a throwback to Diablo 2, where if you killed another player in PvP combat they would drop an ear on the ground.

You can just kill "stuff" in your level range (I'm just killing everything in Hyjal) for one trophy each. I killed a wolf on the island and got 1 trophy. Not limited to raids/dungeons

Faster if you're level 85 and has AoE skills to wipe out 5 - 8 mobs. There are massive numbers of "Converted Hero" enemies at west from Ymirheim in Icecrown.

I can recommend Aldur'thar in Icecrown (the place with lots of Cult Researchers). The respawn rate is AWESOME and they only have around 10k hp each.

As a shadowpriest, I can run around and only use Shadow Word: Pain on them and when the last mob is dead, the first ones have started respawning...

- Farm way 1 -

Go in The valley of Fallen Heroes in Icecrown and AOE every group of Converted Hero. Every group grant around 8-9 .

- Farm way 2 -

Go in Cathedral of the Darkness in Icecrown and kill the Chosen Zealots. They have around 34k hp, respawn is really fast and they are in group of 19 to 24.

(I also recommend looting the Zealots because they drop fair amount of Frostweave Cloth and its selling for alot of gold on some realms.)

If you're going for this quest go to the bridge in the mountain at "Verlok Stand" In Deepholme.

Easy to kill adds spawn in buttloads.

Also you can ranged em down from a little ledge there ;)

I farmed all the 250 I needed within 30 mins there! ;D

I also recommend Deathspeaker's Watch, just left of Argent Tournament Grounds. Kill Dark Ritualist, as they only have around 10k hp and fast respawn!

EDIT: Just tried The Valley of Fallen Heroes, just under Aldur'thar in Icecrown. Fallen Hero's Spirit and Scourge Converter all over the place, and their respawn is insane! Seems like the best place to me, so far. Even better if you're a ranged class.

Cult Researchers can get you this in 20 mins if you're a good AoE Class. Very fast respawn and low HP.

Took me 15-20 minutes to do this killing Stone Bats and Jaspertip Swarmers in Deepholme.

Swarmers run around in packs of 4-5 and are solo-able at 83.
Stone Bats fly around in groups of 8-9 and have roughly 5k health.

I found really nice and easy way to farm this.
Just go with friends in Well of Eternity on last boss when you turn into demon don`t dps boss just stand near portal and aoe every mob gives one Grisly Trophy easy farming. Good luck !

You get the Adventure Guide by talking to the Darkmoon Faire NPC

Hands down the best place to do this is at the Malykriss: The Vile Hold in Icecrown, north-east of ICC. There are two groups of skeletons working on an anvil, their respawn rate is almost instant, and as a rogue I was able to rack up kills EXTREMELY fast.

From a moonkin perspective and after reading other comments here I can´t come up with any better area then the one left to aldur´thar. The place with the 3 cauldrons.
There the mobs does respawn as close to instantly they can be. Just have aouto run enable and spam tab and moonfire or any other instant spell !

i have a suggestion to make

if you are a warden in molten front, take the wardens quests do them and then enter the cave igneous depths (enduring the heat - quest ) to break the runes. the elementals that gather around you count for this quest. dont finish the runes get out of the cave and start again. in ten mins you have done the quest dont bother go to instances, bgs or everything.

This is not a daily-quest, so there is absolutely no need to hurry and farm those kills! Seeing as you have one week to complete this quest, you'll get these 250 kills simply along the way.
I suppose, this quest resets each month when the Darkmoon Faire opens its gates once again.

As a tank If you dont want to quit item farmong you can easily make 30-40 of this trophies (even more I guess) at the Mannoroth encounter in Well of Eternity. I think Tyrandes killing blows counts as your if you have dmg on the demons. I'm not sure of it, but I always get many trophies by spreading rend and TC-ing.

This while on the 'new' Darkmoon Faire.

First, I thought that since I had to kill 250 creatures, I'd go farm volatile air at the Twilight Highlands. Well, that proved to be too slow.

I then decided to go to the Argent Tournament and run dailies. Best decision. Make sure you stop by and hit the converted heroes. Ten kills at a time...

Easy kills, drops (especially Frostweave which is selling at a decent price nowadays) plus gold and tokens from the quests. I was done in no time at all.

Yes, you still get credit as an 85 killing 80s.

Can anyone else confirm that it's NOT the killing blow that rewards these? Seems to be quite random.
First two mobs in a dungeon got my party of 3 one each. And other times that I've most definitely got killing blows I've not gotten the trophies. We had one of our team sit out of a fight and he continued to receive the trophies despite not laying a blow.
It's random, as far as I can tell.

I went with the Chosen Zealot method it was much quicker than chasing the converted hero packs. However I would like to add that if you are into vanity items the converted hero packs have a very small chance to drop the lvl 80 BoE Epics which includes the Super Simian Sphere tis a two birds with one stone thing

I'd recommend an area near the Fleshwerks in Icecrown, roughly (37, 71). They're not as AOEable but the respawns very quick and they don't have that annoying slow the Fallen Hero's do.

Note that if you are a class with any summon, you do not have to get the killing blow, only tag the mob as your normally would to get xp and loot. Cases of this include, but are not limited to:

Death Knight ghoul
Druid treant
Hunter pet
Mage water elemental

Since the farming spots mentioned by nisx are mostly crowded during peak time, I have another ideal spot to easily obtain Grisly Trophy.

Go to Icecrown and get to the spot 56,80 where Rokir is standing. He is surrounded by low health mobs that are level 80. He has a spell Zombie Horde that summons about 10 minions which reward the quest item as well when killed. But watch out for their knock back!

Here is the best part: the re-spawn time of these mobs is very, VERY short. I think it's under a minute; I could not finish looting all the corpses before they started re-spawning.

I am not sure of the accessibility of this area because sub-zones in Icecrown are mostly phased.

On my 85 Arms Warrior, I knocked this out in the Molten Front in about 30 minutes.

Pop a Potion of Treasure Finding, and grind the elementals near the portal. The respawn rate is excellent. NPCs will occasionally steal killing blows (thus not giving you a Grisly Trophy), but it wasn't enough to make a big difference. I was getting enough Victory Rush procs to easily keep me fully healed.

This takes a bit longer than some of the previously mentioned low-level mobs, but you have a chance at level 85 world drops. I picked up Design: Agile Shadowspirit Diamond while doing it along with a number of Tiny Treasure Chests.

it's just what Toggol sayed. molten front quest daily (endure the heat) run trough the cave but don't take al 8 of the circles. let some of the unstable flameragers hit you will you stand in the blue circle while having shield up in the circle and get the circle. run out several time and begin again. i have done it in 20 min. to get 250. by the last run take al 8 circle's and you have 2 quests done.

Since the Converted Hero packs are usually crowded, I found another reasonably easy spot to farm on my healer (the Cathedral mobs are a bit overwhelming for my squishy priest).

Head to the Broken Front in Icecrown (just above the R in "Mordrethar" on the map)

There are constantly respawning level 80 mobs in that area with a little over 12k hp. It's a little deceiving because the Risen Alliance Soldiers weren't giving any trophies. However, the ghouls and geist mobs both do, and there are plenty around and they respawn in seconds. Easy to kill for a healer, probably super easy for a dps class, and respawns fast enough that you won't have to worry about competing with other people.

There are many ways to just get this overwith quickly. However, I chose to go more practical route.

You can farm cloth if you find a good spot. On my server, 20 Embersilk Cloth atm sell for 70g+/stack.
If you're a skinner, just go grind out a lot of leather.

These are just a couple ideas, I am sure you can find something that applies to you.

To address the concerns from other posts... This is would in Icecrown, the area of your choice..
If you're a healer, you can still find decent ways to go and slaughter 250 things.
Like if you're a priest, you can still AoE stuff. Bubble yourself and spam Holy Nova (example)
If you're a druid, you could have your offspec as Balance or Feral. If it's feral, just go bear form and spam Swipe and w/e that other AoE attack is.
If you're a pally, you could have prot or ret as your offspec. Ret you pick up AE attack talent. You can just spam that with Concencrate and Holy Wrath, etc .. or as Prot, there is the AE attack you have instead of Crusader Strike.

Be a little creative. Just because you're main spec is a healing spec, doesn't mean you can't go and do something to break out of the tiny box that Blizzard blocked you in with.

Easy way to get these from pvp, is just do AV a couple times, the mobs in the caves give credit for this quest.

Just don't kill the mini-alliance boss in cave, or all your mobs will get killed, works with both the trogs an alliance, or horde if you are alliance.

Easy way of getting the points if you can go to molten front .
there is a cave in molten front called Igneous Depths that has runes on the floor that help protect you from the lava dude that spawn there. I am a warrior so I just stood there and let them pile up and used bladestorm which kills like 7-8 lava dudes you can repeat over and over or you can click the rune which explodes killing them too. I got all 250 points in less than 10 min . There is more than one rune symbol on the floor and if you walk out of cave and come back in all runes will reappear .

I got 25 Grisly Trophies from two dungeons, and then I went to attempt to farm them. First I went to Icecrown and killed about 50 Converted Heroes and got nothing. Then I quick went and did some MF dailys until I got the quest that sends you into the cave. I stood there spamming Mind Sear for about five minutes and got nothing.

Alright, after having done some researching (i.e. reading the quest...), it turns out that you need to make sure that you have the Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide in your inventory before you'll get any of the Grisly Trophies. If it's not in your inventory, go and talk to Selina Dourman at the Darkmoon Faire. She'll be near the front of the faire.

If your in the level 70'ish range and wanting to do this quickly, go to the Borean Tundra, and once there, head to the floating ice sheet just south of Kaskala. There's an eternal battle going on between the Kaskala Defenders and the Kvaldir Raiders, with the Kvaldir Raiders arriving nonstop by longboat. I have a level 76 hunter and did this in no time at all. My multishot got a lot of use on this one, and the battlefield was one big sparkly mass from all the corpses I still had yet to loot.

I've found that this quest, combined with the advent of Transmogrification, is precisely the reason to go solo the 3.3 Heroics. The mobs are easy enough to kill, and not everyone has Quel'Delar. The packs of skeletons in the Pit of Saron are especially economical for the quest's desired ends.

A nice way to farm these items is:
Queue up for AV, once you get into AV go to the Mines and kill the Mobs inside the Cave(s), there are alot of mobs and they are really weak.

Since the mines is a good way to get the enemys reinforcement low, on the way to get the mines you need to kill these mobs anyway, so it's a good way to get the items and help your team at the same time.

Another way to do this , albeit considerably slower , is to portal to Hyjal and pick off the stone elementals by Nordrassil. The main benefit to this way is that you can farm volatile earth at the same time especially if you are a miner too -- seeing as the drop-rate isnt too bad and the volatiles still fetch up to 12 gold (on my server) , this can be quite profitabe if you want to spend the time doing it this way :)

Zealot camps west of the Argent Tourey Grounds Icecrown are good as well. There are 4 camps, each camp yields about 10 trophys and you can easily AOE them down since there level 80.

They respawn fast also.

If you're a skinner, you can farm Darkwood Luker and Darkwood Broomother for Savage Leather at the same time, making a nice profit. Most classes will be able to gather and AoE them down easily, and you'll gain enough leather for an easy ~1-2k gold.

56, 80 in Icecrown is quite nice to farm the Grisly Trophy these as there is quite a lot of mobs bunched up plus there is a guy called Rokir that summons more zombies (like army of the dead) and they are on a fairly short respawn timer.

Stonehearth was the best place for me (in Deepholme). As a Tailor/Chanter, I killed the troggs as an Arcane Mage (about 9-10 bunched up with friendly mobs holding huge amounts of aggro) using Flamestrike then Arcane Blast. Killed them all in about 7 seconds, looted then flew to the next patch. Easily killable (40k health), hit for next to nothing when you do get aggro and drops plenty of Embersilk Cloth/ Greens. Took me less then 10 minutes.

Was very pleased with this venture.

Another good spot for Grisly Trophies are the Charhounds in the cave you are sent to when doing the daily quest Into the Fire in the Molten Front. They die in 2-3 hits or can be AoE'd and they respawn so quickly there are always some up.

There is an even easier, faster way.

This WORKS for level 85s, I am doing it as we speak.

Go to Icecrown, at around 37.30, 70.80.

Kill Risen Soldiers (Soldato Risorto) there, they ONLY have 4k hp and die in 1-2 hits of any AOE.

These respawn automatically, so you can get over 250 kills in less than 30-40 minutes.

A good place for farming this at level 85 is in Hyjal at Nordrassil. Those stone elementals are green level 80s that grant the item. Their respawn rate is terrific and they group around the NPCs that do not tag. Took about 20 min as a Demo Lock. I left carnage that will be written of for decades.

Enduring the heat is not too bad for this.
You get max 3 grisly tokens per rune (with three mobs or more), but if you don't do the last rune, you can run out and repeat.

If you're still doing Firelands Invasion dailies, do the Shadow Wardens side and take your time on . Stand in each blue flame rune 'till a bunch of elementals collect on you, then destroy it and move on to the next one. Lots and lots of ears.

i did a dungeon run "Green" and did a raid with dungeon finder. I was able to get the Trophies automatically. During 1 run i got 50. They look like ears. Im not sure how long the quest will go for. Once you get 250 just go to the NPC and your done.

I was doing PvP, and found that another convenient place to farm the trophies is in the mines in Alterac Valley. The adds have little health, respawn rather quickly, and there are lots of them. Practically every mob gave a trophy too. That, and who doesn't like killing a few kobolds?

I farm heroic Utgarde Pinnacle every day for the mount and quickly discovered an easy way to farm the trophies during my daily run. The mobs in the gauntlet spawn endlessly and reward a trophy for each one killed. Sitting in one spot, and kill them over and over, will net you trophies at great pace.

If you're trying to maximize your darkmoon rep and tickets as quickly as possible, make sure you finish this quest BEFORE the fair packs up for the month. You CAN earn trophies even after the fair is gone, but if you wait until the following month to turn this in, the quest giver will not give you the quest again until they come back again next time.

As of today (01/01/2012) I can't seem to get any more grisly trophies, no matter the level of the kills I get - the experience shows up on the screen but no trophies accumulate. There is the possibility of a bug in this.

Unlike most quests, you can get Grisly Trophies in raids. Firelands in particular is fairly good.

However I was unable to gather Grisly Trophies from Uldar using the vehicles against the dwarves. Fire from the Sky does not give Grisly Trophies either. I would have tried the Icecrown bombing run but that quest is no longer in the game. I'm curious about the other bombing runs such as in Molten Front or Hellfire Peninsula but have yet to test them.

Ice Crown mobs are fast and easy.. large groups.. quick respawn.. Area coordinates approx 45,50. At level 85 these mobs still count as XP and Grisly Trophy's are awarded for each kill. Plus when done you'll have a few Green items and stacks of Frostweave cloth for your tailor :)

Icecrown's Converted Hero are super quick to burn down, re-spawn quickly, and as mentioned, are profitable. I farm these mobs for frostweave, and they consistently drop nice greens and vendor trash of high value. Approximately an hour of farming will net my tailor 35-40 bolts of frostweave, and an additional 100-150g of vendor items.

In addition, the mobs drop Damaged Necklace Damaged Necklace, a quest for JCs.

I wasn't having any trouble getting these doing dungeons and the like, but after having almost 200 on 2 different toons, I logged in today and it had reset to zero. The fair is still going on. I got them on Monday and don't know if that means there is a Tuesday reset, but that doesn't make sense since the faire is only a week long. Ideas?

100% drop rate from all mobs, Wish all loot dropped with that precision.

While in a group, Grizzly Trophies are doled out randomly. It is no longer awarded for killing blows.

We previously had an issue where Grisly Trophy was only going to the player who recorded the killing blow. They are now distributed randomly.

I found this way better than all the comments I read.

If you are lvl 85 and have a decent gear , the best way to farm this, just kill Slag, as a mage I finished that quest in like 10mins, slang's spawn is like 12-15 secs, i think is the best way to do this quest.

Those mobs can be found in Hall of Lightning, for those who don't know where the entrance is, is at 45.5 , 21.4 in The Storm Peaks, ~~Northrend~~.

There's a nice spot in Uldum right around Obelisk of the Moon where there's quite a few groups of 10 patrolling NPC's (1 Elite and 9 non-Elite) that I like to farm. If you can kite, this is a great spot not only for Grisly Trophies, but for cloth as well if you are a tailor.

I found that if you are in Firelands doing the in the Ingeous Depths to deactivate the blue circles, each time you deactivate one it explodes the enemies around it, granting you trophies like no tomorrow! Finished this quest in less than half an hour. =] Just stand in the blue circles to mob them up; this cuts their damage down significantly and when you get a big enough group you are COMFORTABLE with implode the circle. Make sure to run out of the cave BEFORE YOU CLICK THE LAST CIRCLE to reset them. If you complete the quest you will have to abandon and pick it up again to reset the timers.

Players are now able to receive Lovely Charms while on the quest "", when the player's inventory has both the Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide and Lovely Charm Collector's Kit.
Players now have the chance to receive both the Lovely Charm and Grisly Trophy from a single kill.

I don't see that anyone else mentioned this... I'm sorry if it's a duplicate comment.
I've noticed that the grisly trophies don't drop for me if I didn't have the "Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide" in my bags when I log on. I need to log out and back in to make it work. The reason I noticed this is that my auction house alt doesn't keep the "Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide" in his bags most of the week and I switch out bags before going out to quest on the weekends, etc. I wasn't getting the grisly trophies and I didn't know why. Then I realized that, if I switch bags from the bank and kill mobs, I don't get the trophies... unless I log off and back in.
I hope that makes sense...

If you're looking to farm these quickly, there's no better place than normal Throne of the Tides.

You'll be farming Unstable Corruptions, found along the path leading to Ozumat. These mobs are lvl 80 non-elites with ~3k HP. They spawn about every 20 seconds in packs of 15-20. They apply a stacking debuff upon death. It can be a little nasty if you don't have self healing abilities, but it's not too difficult to manage.

In order to access these mobs, you'll need to kill the first boss, so this isn't going to be soloable for every class.

From start to finish, this method took me 15 minutes. 9 of those minutes were spent clearing to the first boss and killing it. Farming the trophies from Unstable Corruptions took exactly 6 minutes.

Even if you're splitting kills with 1-2 other players, this is still significantly faster than most of the other methods posted.

Don't bother trying to use dungeons (LFG) for getting these. As a healer, I did a full run of Grim Batol with the dozens and dozens of kills, and got TWO! Stick to the nice grinding areas as noted at the top of the list. As a level 85, even as a healer I can aoe the heck out of Icecrown!

Managed to get about 60 Grizzly Trophy just from one Hour of Twilight dungeon, found this a very efficient way to obtain plenty without having to go anywhere to farm.

So today while farming the Chosen Zealots in Icecrown to get my grisly trophies i got a Super Simian Sphere drop, Im not braging about it, just using for a reference that these mobs do drop them and are general easy to farm so might be a good idea for anyone

The last patch took out the ability to get these from low-level mobs in Icecrown, like Converted Heroes. Unfortunately, it also has made for a lot of bugs. Had to get and drop this quest multiple times before the ears would start dropping. Then, when they finally did, I no longer got ears unless I got the killing blow (even if I had done the lion's share of the damage). It also did not give me ears when my pet was involved in the fight (even when he did not deal the killing blow). Then, the trophies stopped dropping again for no reason I could devise (I was doing all the dmg, was in an upper level area, and was not in a group).

Quite frankly this system of fixes to circumvent the Icecrown exploit favors some classes over others. First, as a lock, I am not a killing blow dealer. I am the person laying dots on everyone and ccing (as it should be), like other classes who aren't search and destroy (like caster druids, shadow priests and rogues-in some cases) are basically screwed over by this PvP set-up...unless they choose getting quest items over PvP objectives (screw getting the healers and thinning off the crop, I will just kill this one guy, then this guy, etc.). Additionally, this favors non-pet classes: it is especially annoying if you are demo lock (which I am) or bm hunter.

I just hope Blizz finds a way to fix the exploit and not make it more buggy and uneven across classes.

The SLAG in Halls of Lightning are a good way to go if you want to multitask. After clearing them, they will respawn at two points (5 slags every 30 seconds at each). If you stand near one of the two spawn points, you can AOE them down every time they respawn. One-button grinding without having to move. (Watch a movie and just hit your AOE key with your toe every 30 seconds).

This is also very useful during love is in the air to get charm bracelets.

I can't say for absolutely sure, but currently as of today May 6th 2012, Grisly Trophy no longer drop on every kill of level 80 mobs in WotLK, only in Cataclysm.

I got about 5 or 6 out of 50 kills in Icecrown, while last month I was getting on every kill.

In Throne of the Tides normal mode everything is working as before, and this is still a good way to complete this quest fast. But sadly - unless it is just a bug - anything prior to Cataclysm appears to have been nerfed as a farming method for this.

Just finished this quest using the Slag again in the Halls of Lightning. Only 1 per mob so it took a bit, but it worked.

This is the best guide you can find for this quest!
Don't kill zealots and those guys, these guys have respawn timer like 30 seconds and it's 50 of them per spawn, I got this q done in 15 minutes.
Go to Icecrown 59,0 - 73,8 and Kill Umbral Brutes and Skeletal Runesmiths, it's the best way!
Everyone is farming zealots and this is way more quicker.

As of 5/7/12 the best spot to farm grisly trophies is still the converted heroes in Icecrown. 100% droprate @ lvl 85. Plus you get a ton of Frostweave!

Was just doing Qs for my Icecrown: The Final Goal , and found out that Basic Chemistry was a really great way to farm as well. Spawns around 6-8 small adds that you can just AoE down for easy marks. Thought it was worth to mention :)

If you want to simply get the Grisly Trophy at level 85, go Icecrown in Northrend and kill Converted Hero, can be found at The Conflagration (https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/maps?data=210]) in groups of 8!

So my best place for getting these is in the Molten Core
The quest is - if you let the adds get close enough then click on the Blue Rune - all of the mobs which are close die for one token each. So with 8 Runes with at least 3 up to 5 mobs each time. Its a quick 24 tokens.
You can abandon it and start again to gett more tokens although that requires running back up to the Forlorn Spire.

Ho ho ho, the best way is definitely Well of Eternity. Sure, it takes a bit, but during the Mannoroth fight when all the demons appear, you get loads of Grisly Trophies. Plus, they take little or no effort. Either Tyrande kills them, or your demon aura kills them while your dps the boss. Throughout the entire dungeon, I got about 100 Grisly Trophies.

After trying nisx's way at the Cathedral of Darkness, and finding myself with a bit too much downtime before I could fight another group (Combat Rogue, T13, stage 2 daggers), and previously running into issues with converted heroes (their slow debuff gets super annoying), and the combination of slow respawns and spread out mobs at Onslaught Harbor, I wanted to find a better source.

Conveniently enough, I didn't have to go too far from the Cathedral of Darkness - at 46,73 at the Fleshwerks (Northwest of the Cathedral) there is a small area packed with Risen Soldiers. Not only are these normal mobs - which means they won't hurt anybody at 85, but they respawn so quickly that it's impossible to keep them all down. No slow debuffs, small area, low damage and health and nearly instant respawns all make this the best spot I've found to rack up those grisly trophies as quick and as painless as possible.

Tested in Cata Classic, this can be completed in The Fleshweks (Icecrown, Nortrend) by killing Risen Soldier that spawn hyperfast. Also, this can be done in a group without slowing down the farming rate, since the Grisly Trophy are generated in the bags for everyone in the party (instead of looted)

I believe if you quested in the area this zone is phased and this farm can't be done.

For levelling alts, I've found these locations to be really good due to fast or instant respawning mobs:
Level 12-13 mobs: Westfall, Sentinell Hill west part, the Gnolls respawn instantly once there's only one left
Level 22-23 mobs: Duskwood, the mine between The Rotting Orchard and Tranquil Gardens Cemetary. There will always be mobs so you'll never run out
Level 24-25 mobs: Wetlands, East of Greenwarden's Grove - Orcs & Dragons fighting with each other, endlessly spawning. Be careful not to get overwhelmed, as they keep on spawning super fast and will keep you in combat. If you want to take it a little easier, kill the orcs around the wagons, they'll still respawn super fast but you won't get overwhelmed, easier for melee classes I reckon.
Level 34-35 mobs: Frazzlecraz Motherlode mine in Southern Barrens. Bit more walking between mobs but you'll never run out within the mine.
Level 36: Feral Scar Yeti, the Northern cave in Feralas.
Level 48-49: Deadwood Furbolg in Northern Felwood
Level 55-56 mobs: Blasted lands, the Horde forces west of Nethergarde Keep, again spread out, but you'll never run out.
Level 55-56 mobs: Blasted lands, Drowned Gilneans along the coast of Blasted Lands (Shattershore, Southeast of Nethergarde Keep). Spread out but you'll never run out of mobs.
Level 55-56 mobs: One of the hives in Silithus. Not fast respawns, but enough bugs that you won't run out, plus good for farming leather for your Leatherworker.
Level 63-64 mobs: Fungal Giants in Zangarmarsh, slightly NE of the entrance to Nagrand all the way in the West. You can make a circle and never run out, bonus if you have herbalism.
Level 67: Shadow Council Warlock, SMV entrance, Legion Hold. You'll never run out, just watch out for the 69 elite walking around between the pillars.
