Does the mini-game play out in a phased or instanced area? I remember Triage being impossible when two people were on it.

For those unfamiliar with Plants vs. Zombies, this is a series of quests based on the popular game. The idea is simple: you're given limited plant tools and must use them to defend against each successive wave of zombies. You must balance between the resource (sunlight) gathering sunflowers, offensive spitters, defensive rocknut plants, and others. Plant too much or too little of one thing and you'll be overrun.

For those wondering how to play:
You need to gather sun light (the little orbs that fall) to increase your energy. When you gather enough energy, you can place a plant on the field to help your fight against the zom... undead. Sunflowers are used to gather more sunlight that can be collected, spitters are your primary offense in starting.

To gather sun, you right click them. For some reason I had to do this twice to get it to count per sun. If you find it isn't working, try disabling your addons.

The bottom will have a bar filled with your current options. When you've gathered enough sun, place your sunflower in one of the blocks that make up the lawn (better to have it in the back , in order to give you more space away from oncoming undead.

Some really good tips here: plant at least 3 sunflowers before any offense. The initial undead are very slow, and can be killed easily. It's best to plant as many sunflowers as you can in this beginning time in order to have enough for the waves later.

I can't seem to click on the suns and occasionally see a ghost like image of a plant being placed yet it wasn't me placing it. Even at 4am there's still a few people around so maybe it is phased.

Same for me.

When i try to realize this quest, i can't move sun stuff, no zombies come and i can see something like ghost of plants.

I tried to disable all my addons, that do nothing.

As the screenshot indicates, in this wave the zombies only spawn on the center row. Don't waste sun by putting up shooters anywhere else.

The way i finished the final quest was to make the first two rows all sunflowers, third row spitters, fourth row ice ones (forget the name) fifth row vines, and sixth row rocks. I put pumpkins down whenever big mobs came out.

Just keep putting the same plants back where they should be as they die and you should finish it easily.

If you can't seem to beat a level, a tactic i find is go for 2 rows of sunflowers ASAP, only put the bare minimum for the first few waves, (1 spitter can easily take 1 ghoul or 2 zombies) dont go crazy on spending, once you have a row of spitters always make sure you have at least 40 sun power if you're have access to pumpkins, otherwise yeah w/e do spitters/freyas on cooldown

EDIT: playing zome plants versus zombies on the itouch/iphone/ipad or on popcap.com helps too

thought of it myself after 3 hours of hell makes me think only if someone posted this earlier
SF=sunflower
SP=peashooter
SFP=freezeshooter
V=Vines
R=rockshut nut
B=Bomb

first two rows SF
3rd row SP
4th row SFP
5th row Vines
6th row R only if your getting pressure if not just build V on this row
and use the bombs on high level zombies and boss

build up as much sf in the beginning thats when youll need to take advantage of the low level zombies and use R if necessary to take advantage

follow these tactics and itll be smooth sailing

One huge tip - Make sunflowers. I stayed with at least a row everytime, though it doens't hurt to have almost two rows. You get so much sunflower you'll be capped out almost all the time.

For anyone that might get confused on Basic Botany

When I completed stage 1 the ? on Brazie's head was gold but not the Dialog box ? when turning in.

EVEN though its gray CLICK ON IT, i still got the Complete Quest dialog and was able to move on.

Ghouls Ate My Brains, I'm having the same problem. Last wave won't come, solar power continues to drop and there's nothing really to do cept sit there. I left vehicle and tried it once more in hopes it would kick in... and it did :)

Like many others, I ran into issues with this quest chain. The best advice I can offer is this:

1) Think of the garden as eight vertical columns...
2) Fill columns 1 and 2 with sunflowers
3) If at all possible, do not put anything in column 8 or the quest will glitch on you. It happened to me several times until I realized I needed to have some place for spawning zombies to go.
4) You do not need to use pumpkin bombs on the final quest/boss part of the chain, but they sure do help bring the boss' HP down much faster.

Additionally, before you do anything, get sunflowers planted. Even if you have a couple of zombies spawning, don't worry, stick a stone or spitter in front of them and you'll be fine.

I played Zombies vs Plants so I breezed through this.

First 2 rows put sunflowers. Every round I put 4 sunflowers up before anything else. When you see a zombie spawn you can wait til hes 2 squares in before you need to put a shooter down. Once you have a full back row of flowers fill the thrid row with pea shooters *LEAVE THE SECOND ROW EMPTY*. Once you have the third row all pea shooters then start filling the second row with sunflowers when you can spare the sun power and time. If not start putting pea shooters in the 4th row. Once you have the all 4 rows filled with SF and PS then you can relax cause its pretty much over at this point but to be safe put freezyas in the 5th. LEAVE THE LAST ROW EMPTY. I found that once I had the 4 rows filled dropping pumpkin bombs dropped the boss after 3 of them. Takes under 6 minutes doing it this way.

Although being considered a low level quest this chain quest still gives an adequate amount of XP at level 82, around 39k, the final quest even around 79k.
So it's really worth completing these quests if you haven't done this yet. It's fun anyway and you always wanted that cute, singing sunflower pet, don't you?

Currently Known Bugs For This Quest Chain:

Zombies are already spawned on game start.
Not being able to complete the quest "Someone Set Up The Pumpkin Bomb".
Spitters not "spitting" at some ghouls/zombies.
Warden Stillwater not taking damage from Pumpkin Bombs.
The progress bar for "waves" would be roughly 2 pixels from completion, and freeze.

Strategies Proven Effective:

For both of these strategies, you should spam Pumpkin bombs after you set up the correct array of plants.

As of today, June 27 2012, the quest chain is still bugged, but completable. Several times my defenses just suddenly stopped attacking enemies and the enemy just walk past my defenses to the Brazie's house as if there were no defenses on that row. A couple of times after defending against a wave no more zombies would appear. That was it, nothing more and of course I had to abandon quest and restart. Also, you still cannot put plants in the squares closest to the zombie spawns without bugging the quest.

The key to this is the sunflowers. I've tried several of the strategies mentioned here and on YouTube, but the underlying winning factor is to put down 10 sunflowers and you'll have more solar power than you need to defend yourself.
