This whole questline is based on the game Plants vs Zombies, which originally was going to be called Lawn of the Dead, a spoof on Dawn of the dead. They had to change to Plants vs Zombies due to copyright.

The reward (Brazie's Sunflower Seeds) teaches you the pet Brazie's Sunflower, who sings :)

Early on, keep the plant Sunflowers on cooldown till you have about 3 made. By then you should be dealing with about 3 Zombies. Rocknuts are your friend (and cheap!), build a few to hold them off.

Next is planting Spitters in the rows where the Zombies spawned once you have enough Sunpower.

Start planting more Sunflowers, the key to winning is making two full rows of Sunflowers.
Balance making Sunflowers with a full row of Spitters and one row of Freezya's. You can even toss in a row of Rocknuts to be safe (Sunpower allowing).

- Strangler Vine's are a bit too expensive and are really not needed, try to avoid planting them early on. However, you can toss in a few just to burn off extra Sunpower!

Your next order of business is stockpiling Sunpower, to keep Pumpkin Bombs on cooldown, but also to replace Plants destroyed by Warden Stillwater's Blight.

4-5 Pumpkin bombs should win the game

I was easily able to do the last 2 quests without rocknuts, though it was a bit iffy.

First I built the left row with sunflowers, only filled the one row. I added spitting plants as necessary to kill the fodder, then added tentacles, two rows does the trick, any more than that and they cant reach.

P=Shooter
T=Tentacle
F=Freeze

The first few levels, you can get away with sunflowers, spitters, and freezes. Build up to this formation on the levels up to when you get tentacles, and it will be pretty cake.

Here's my setup for all of the last levels, once tentacles are unlocked except the final level:

On the second to last level, with abominations, you will need to bomb the abominations twice. The tentacles in the front row will periodically take damage, so expect to replace a few. Dont let them dieing discourage you, they take a long while (except vs the boss and the aboms) to die, and replacing them is just a matter of waiting on the cooldown. They reach two squares ahead, and to the side, so even if you have a gap toothed structure, youre still well covered until you replace them. Remember, you can place defenses on a tile already occupied with zombies. All in all this seemed like the most efficient way for me to destroy the zombies.

On the very last level, I set up with something like this:

I replenished the sunflowers and tentacles as needed, and saved all the rest of my energy for bombing the boss. You can easily hold off the boss with this setup, with little danger to yourself. Just dont forget to keep your sunflowers replaced or you'll fall short on energy. Its basically a race to kill the boss, so only worry about minimal defenses. The boss will kill multiple defenses at a time, so be ready to keep em up. The bomb has a long cooldown so those always take priority. Bomb the boss earlier rather than later, if you think you can spare the extra defenses for 10 seconds or so.

This should be pretty easy, always right clicky your energy before they disappear to make sure you have max energy. I figured out early on what to do and didnt have to repeat a level, so unless this game is modified, this is probably one of the easiest ways to go.

I actually had an easy time of it employing the following strategy:

Two rows of sunflowers
Three rows of tentacle vines

Use the rest on rocknuts and pumpkin bombs as needed. The sunflowers will ensure that you have a ton of sunlight at all times, and the tentacles will take care of all of the non-boss zombies no problem. THe boss DOES occasionally destroy plants so you will need to replace them. Put down rocknuts if you need to, use the bombs on the boss. With this strategy this was easier than the previous quest in my opinion.

Some of the strats on here are very helpful, I used a little from a few of them.

I went with 2 rows of Sunflowers, used some Rocknuts to hold off some of the zombies while I collected enough Sun to put down some Shooters.

Once I had about a row of shooters I put down some Tentacles and blocked off a few of the harder zombies with Rocknuts.

By the time the boss appeared the Sun power was dropping quite fast, I just had keep Tentacles and Sunflowers up while waiting for the Pumpkin Bomb to come off cooldown.

So I have something mildly dumb to say...

I've never played Plants vs. Zombies, except on an iPad demo a few months ago. I didn't get it then, and I don't get it now. I can't grab or move the stupid sun things, and so I failed because I have no clue what to do. Strategies are meaningless if I don't know what to do in the first place. Can someone please help me understand what I'm doing? At the very least, how to get Solar Power or whatever it is?

I had never before this played Plants versus Zombies so wasn't sure how to go about this.

I ended up beating him without killing him. It must have some sort of internal time limit attached to it because he had 13000 HP still when I got the death message.
I know it wasn't an "accidental kill" of any sort because I only had about 5 sunflowers churning out enough solar to keep churning out more sunflowers with absolutely no offensive flowers up.

Basically what I'm getting at is if you start to do really poor and are towards the tail end of the quest, instead of abandoning it and trying again, just keep at it with as many sunflowers up to produce solar and pumpkin bomb.

OF COURSE a GM may have just felt bad for me being so terrible and did a ".kill" on stillwater. >.>

After doing this 3 times now, and 4 more times to go, I thought I would post what worked for me.

S - Sunflower
P - Shooter
F - Freezya
R - Rocknut
T - Tentacle

Final build should look like this:

Start by place the first row of Sunflowers, don't even worry about placing any shooters. Then place shooters only in the rows that the zombies are coming in (should be only in 2 rows at the beginning.) And placing the second row of sunflowers in the rows that the zombies are not in.

Use Rocknuts when the Ghouls start to show up (one rocknut and one shooter is enough to kill 2 zombies and a Ghoul.)

By now the Stillwater should show up. Focus on getting the above set up first. Once you have this set up start using pumpkins every time you hit 60 sun power (the extra 20 is to use in case of emergencies.)

Priority for replacements are: Sunflower - Rocknut - Spitters
It should take 5-7 pumpkins to take the boss down.

I beat this the first try, and I suxxer at these kinds of games and am 44 (so not fast twitch)

As with the previous pumpkin one, I simply did two first rows of sunflowers. After 4 or so sunflowers, I started spitters in the 3rd row. After having a spitter where zombies were walking, I went to the freeze one in the 4th row. Then I went to a rock in front of the freeze one. Then I started dropping the root thing that grabs the bad dudes, when they were coming out.

Then I had like 4 or 5 of those tendril things and replaced freeze plants, sunflowers and stuff as needed. They got the main big guy pretty low on health, the freeze plants it seemed, shooting him. I had a few more freeze plants in front of the 4th row of them, mixed with the tendril things. Then I replaced rocks as needed, sunflowers as needed, spitters as needed and dropped pumpkins here and there.

As with the pumpkin one, the first time I read that strat I won (2 rows of sunflower, one spitter, one freeze and a rock (or two freeze and a rock as can.) Then I just dump the tendrils in the front here and there and drop pumpkins.

I used the same tactic most people appear to have used.
As soon as there was enough sun I'd place a sunflower on the 1st column.
When I had 3 sunflowers I had 2 lines with zombies coming so I placed a spitter on the 3rd column on the line with the closest zombie.
Then I placed another sunflower followed by a spitter on the line with the other zombie.
When the first ghoul appeared I placed a freeze plant in front of the spitter on that line.
After that I placed another sunflower and a Tentacle on the 2nd or 4th line(so they could reach the middle and one of the corners) depending on which side an enemy was coming.
Then it's just a matter of filling the 1st and 2nd column with more sunflowers while at the same time placing more spitters on the 3rd and 5th columns, freezers on the 4th and tentacles on the 6th.
Sometimes it was necessary to place some Rocks to halt a few of the mobs and when the waves start coming, Pumpkins deal with them easily.

For the boss at the end, dont forget to keep the lines filled since he'll throw sludge at the plants and kill them but it's mostly the pumpkins exploding that will damage him.

From my experience, a single tentacle will not last long when faced with several zombies on the lines around him. However 3 tentacles close together in the same column will survive a lot longer and damage the zombies faster.
The barriers that the boss places on the garden can also be picked up by the tentacles.

All u have to do is replace any flower that boss kill and put a bom evry single time u can.
At start make 3 sunglower them 2Rockut to stop zombs.
Them make more sunflower adn rock until u plant a rockut on 3rd colun. Them plant a tentacle on 4th colun at a line below ou up (the most one near center).
This shold let u have 10 sunflower and egnow power to make ur gardem. If not put more rockut to block and gave u time on last 2 coluns (delaing waves is ur best friend).

Please be careful, I had 12 sunflowers up, i made so much stuff at 1 moment i had every spot taken that when 2nd wave started no mobs could spawn or something, waited 10 mins but nothing so had to do quest all over. I don't know if this is a bug or little glitch but just be careful :)

Here is what i did...

First 20 solar power goes to 2 sunflowers. I put first to the last row and the second one to the square before that. this way if a zombie attack comes from that path 1 pea shooter can protect them.

Then there will be zombies coming from 2 paths so the next solar powers are spent for those paths (2). Don't forget 1 peashooter can stop 2 normal zombies.

Now we have 2 peashooters and 2 sunflowers. What we need is to have more sunflowers. Just try to fill in all the paths with at least 1 pea shooter and if a ghoul with a bucket (a.k.a bucket) comes from any of the paths put 1 freezya on that path. My general deployment is for a given path (from the last row) Sunflower / sunflower / freezya / peashooter. If you act quick you will have 10 sunflowers (at the last 2 rows) 5 freezyas in front of them and 5 peashooters at the front. After this boss comes.

At the actual fight you have to look out for 3 things:

1- Always try to put 1 rocknut in front of any obelisk. Obelisks act like your rocknut and prevents your plants to shoot at zombies. this means the actual spawn point for zombies are where obelisks stand. To slow them down you have to put rocknuts there so your plants have time to wear them down.

2- Try to put tentacles at the first row ( where boss is) this will make abominations to slow down, damage to boss and zombies that can pass tentacles will have lesser healths. And yes tentacles do grab obelisks. For tentacles and rocknuts; boss will wipe anything at the first 3 rows some times... so don't freak out.

3- Boss will throw some kind of poison at 3 squares during the fight and at the same time a fertilizer will drop... it is like those solar powers but green, grab it! when this happens the plants that are on the poisoned soil will die after some time so don't forget to renew your plants. you may not see them dying so you have to keep an eye on them.

If you can manage to keep 10 sunflowers up you will have tons of solar power so you will be able to drop 4-5 pumpkin bombs during the fight. And don't forget if a path gets overrun you have your lawn mowers as a last line of defense so don't try to put more things in front of a pack that will obviously too strong. you can always put plants behind the zombies, pea shooters will attack backwards and rocknuts will taunt have a 1 square range to all directions.

I just completed it easily with 2 rows of sunflowers, 2 of DPS, 2 of tentacles (last) Only dropped a couple rocknuts when they were getting too close.

Priority is sunflowers until 2 rows, then tentacles to hold them, back, DPS, then more tentacles.
Then, back off on the planting to build energy for the pumpkins. Took 2 tries, but the last attempt was a breeze, (First failed because I let too many sunflowers die, and forgot to pick up the fertilizers.
Tentacles are the key defense, since they protect adjacent rows, and also toss away the plague sprayer towers.
Never dropped a freezeya.

If you survive long enough, regardless of boss HP, you will complete this quest. I'm not sure of the exact time I was playing, but probably at least 20 minutes.

I was not aware that the pumpkin bombs damaged the boss, so I wasn't using any. After that time period, I only had the boss down to about 60%, but my quest auto-completed and it said I had won the mini-game.

Though, I suspect other methods would be much more preferable!

How To Win

Perfect setup for completing the quest chain: Go for 2 lines of sunflowers, 1 line of ice plants, 1 line of spitters, 2 lines of tentacles, 1 line of rocknuts.

1) start with 3 sunflowers on the back line.
2) Put down 2 rocknuts at the closest to spawn line to block the first groups of zombies
3) Add spitters on line 4 at the 2 lines with zombies
4) Add sunflowers to lines making sure to drop in rocknuts to slow the pace.
5) Add iceplants at the same rate as sunflowers to slow the speed
6) Keep up rocknuts and add spitters to all lines
7) By the time you should be getting in enough credit to start adding tentacles
8) Al lines should be full of 2xSunflowers, 1xiceplant, 1xspitter nd at the last spot 1xrocknut.
9) Fill up remaining slots with tentacles as required.
10) Pumpkinsshould only be required for killing the end boss, he doesnt come onto the game area so you have to use 3xpumpkins in the square next to him

When the boss comes he kill off some of your plants so replace as required, if you hve filled the game area youshould have plenty of credit to keep them up.

Yup, done quite easily once I figured out what to do.
Planted 2 rows of sunflowers, didn't even use the shooters,
pumpkins and those wall-things were my friends and indeed, use the pumpkins to down the "boss". Shooters won't be enough to down him but his health dropped really fast with those pumpkins,
Also, note that the first zombie to cut through your wave of flowers, will trigger the machine that clears the entire row. Makes this quest a bit easier to finish. I'd purely focus on the Baron once he arrives. If you plant the pumpkins say 2 squares away from the boss, you will still hit him, so use the pumpkins to both clear most zombies AND inflict some damage to the Baron.

Awards a decent bit of gold (considering it's a lowbie quest) and a funny pet.

I tried the same strart as with the previous one, but came up a bit short so I came up with this:
Rows:
1 - Whatever depending on the situation, if on boss I like to keep one space open for pumpkins, the rest-Roots
2 - Same as one, but spitters on boss, usually rocks on normal mobs
3 - Roots
4 - Roots
5 - Spitters
6 - Sunflowers (if not full, close)
7 - Sunflowers
8 - Sunflowers

Tried to get out as many sunflowers out ASAP, blocked incoming ghouls with rocks/roots as I was doing it, as the first time I tried it with 10 he got enough down so I was 30 solar power away from killing him with a bomb. Put up something in front of the boss like rocks or roots to tank for the spitters behind them.

I had so much solar energy I was easily able to keep all of my plants up no matter how many died and always had enough energy for a pumpkin bomb when it came off cooldown.

I tried a single row of sunflowers as suggested in a comment but towards the end I couldn't keep all my plants up with the demand of solar energy.

I think another problem is that sometimes the pumpkin bombs don't always hit Warden Stillwater and if that happens having 2 rows of sunflowers makes it a non-issue.

Some observations I've made on this vs the real pvz game...

1) If you have a rocknut blocking zombies and then plant a spitter in any space behind the rocknut, it WILL NOT start shooting the zombies until that rocknut is dead. I don't know if this is intended or a bug but is definitely something to keep in mind if you use rocknuts at the start to block while planting sunflowers.

2) Plants don't follow the same basic rules as PvZ plants, same with Zombies. The plants will attack things on different rows and in some cases even turn around and attack things behind them (don't count on this for defense though). The Zombies are the same, and they will even be taunted by a rocknut if they are on the square behind the rocknut.

3) Spitters take 2 squares (if the zombie is walking) to kill a Zombie, over double that for a Ghoul (If a spitter attacks a ghoul from row 3, the ghoul WILL make it to the spitter and almost kill it before it is killed). Freezya's are not an effective plant here and should really only be used in early stages or if replacing a spitter and it cannot wait for the spitter cooldown. Vines are expensive but late game can save the day as they typically take Aberrations out of the picture and they can take quite a beating on the front line.

4) Due to the small assortment of plants given to you and fewer squares in a row damage is not as steady as in PvZ, so Pumpkin Bombs become your main source of consistent damage and absorbing damage until it is off of cooldown is a much more effective strategy can trying to setup clean rows of Spitter/Freezya/Vine/Rocknut.

Something I found helpful - when you've got an abundance of SP but your big defenses are on cooldown, plant the second row from the right with cheap sunflowers. It gives the zombies something to chew on instead of wailing on your big defensive plants, and if they're not currently attacking it, it's extra free SP.

My setup was

I just posted a how-to video because so many people were having problems completing this on my server. :)

I only shot the last two quests in this chain - the easy peasy ones I left out. The one weird thing in my video though - on the second wave of zombie attacks I did not get the big corpulent guys with their intestines falling out. On all the other characters I did this quest on, I did.

So, for clarity's sake:

2 rows of sunflowers is a MUST if you want to complete. I added an extra one for good measure.

It's wise to also have a row of Freezya's. Then just start filling in with Spitters until you have one or two empty rows at the end of your field. You need at least one row to use your pumpkin bombs.

Don't bother with the vines unless you have to slow down some baddies or have extra sunpower burning (heh) a hole in your pocket.

Use the rocknuts only if you need to stop a ghoul or bigger baddie. Focus on gathering your sunflowers to 12.

When the Warden finally appears:

2 rows +1 of Sunflowers
1 row of Freezya's - I put mine in the back
Fill in all but 1 or 2 rows with Spitters
Save energy for Pumpkin bombs.

When he is blue from the Freezya's is the best time to bomb him (I had a bug where the bombs were not hurting him unless he was blue on one game).

When he kills your plants, mainly work on re-planting sunflowers. So long as you have enough Spitters, you'll be fine.

Had a lot of fun with this mini game that I did it on all my toon except for my last one so I can abandon it and replay it when I want. Question though I heard that there might be other mini games added to the game has anyone seen these other mini games or is this the only one so far?

I have never played Plants vs. Zombies before, yet I was able to defeat Stillwater on my first try by following this guide. (Note: I found the guide because Serraphina shared the link on the Brazie's Sunflower page on WarcraftPets.)

Odd, I thought the previous quest (Someone Setup the Pumpkin Bomb) was a lot harder to complete. Personally, I just spammed-placed my way through that one, and when it came to this one I used a lot of sunflowers in back, a row or two of mixed tentacles and spitters, and then a row of rocknuts (which were barely ever broken through) . I was expecting the "boss" to walk towards the hut, but he didn't, which made it very easy to spam the pumpkins on him when they cooled down.

In any case, I thought this version was much more challenging and addicting than the original Plants vs. Zombies, which was way too easy to complete. Plus, the graphics in that version just weren't cutesy in the right way.

Brazie's Sunflower, however, is exactly the kind of cute that makes me want to grab the nearest animal I see and give it a great big hug.

...BRB I need to find a certain overweight cat.

The Warden will occasionally put out either chocking gas bombs (think putricide) which will randomly hit squares and kill the plants there. He will also put out Obelisks, which serve no other purpose than to be high health targets to distract your spitters.

I actually think it was easier than the last round.

If you're having trouble with getting overrun, remember some hints:

1) the further left your spitters, the more time they have to klll zombies
2) sunflowers are critical for winning and you can usually get five planted before anything else without problems. Plan on 15 or more in the later waves if you want to use the pumpkin bombs a lot.
3) tentacles are a great defense against some of the bigger undead.
4) you can't remove a plant or rock once placed unless it gets killed, so leave appropriate holes for anything you want to put there - even the pumpkins!

My girlfriend and I have done really well with a row plan like:

Having the spitter leftmost is far nicer than left-ing with , because you can still kill things if they make it to the leftmost columns, and the flowers are cheap to replace - as well as giving the spitters more time to work.

The final boss takes about 5 bombs to kill unless you've been getting damage on him some other way. His obelisks block fire really well, so if you've taken them out with tentacles you may have better luck just shooting him.

Stones and tentacles can often be planted to the -right- of an undead and still get his attention.

Having five or more tentacles in action behind a wall of rocks is a lot of fun, especially the audio.

The times I've seen the quest not complete even though the undead were all gone I'd often filled up *everything* on the lawn with plants or rocks, so perhaps leaving some free in the rightmost column will stave off that bug.

Rocknut as needed and Bombs on boss and large groups.

It is indeed crucial that you get your sunflower rows up asap...also I had to do a bit of damage control but always went back to this structure.

Not to hard really, just follow this tactic(which I've almost copied from someone on here) for the last 2-3 levels.

SP=Spitter
F=Freezya

So... start out with this, zombie's will spawn when u put the last plant down, but don't worry about that yet. Just put them somewhere on the most left row.

Then, collect some sunpower while the zombies are moving slowly, then just put some spitters down in the rows where zombies are walking.
It should look somewhat like this:

NOTE: The location of the spitters are just the rows where the zombies are coming, that doesn't mean they HAVE to be in front of a SF for now.

Then, keep collecting some sunpower and just put plants down (SF has priority, only put SP's down when you need them.)

Eventually, your screen should en up looking somewhat like this:

Then, you can choose: either keep your sunpower and let loose some bombs at the zombies when u feel like it.

really nice quest chain!
just need to make a row of sunflowers then wait for the first 3 zombies to come, put a rock in their line and continue making the 2nd row of sunflowers and block the other zombie too, then just put 2 rows of spitters and anything u want (the freezing thing isnt that good because it will be so close that it wont affect much).
the last boss isnt that hard just keep putting sunflowers when they are destroyed and use pumpkin bombs it damage the boss a lot (like 1\3 or 1\4 of his full HP).

After my 3rd character of doing this I noticed something strange I never noticed.

There seems to be a phasing issue. I'm having plants die in the far back that he NEVER attacked with his disease attack. Sometimes my plant dies the very second I planted it.

I'm guessing if you have lots of people playing it, it might get buggy with the game thinking you got a disease on a square when you really don't but it is for another person.

Had to do it twice this time around because of this.

I stumbled on this tactic by chance. Had trouble first couple times trying to lay out sunflower and spitters. What I started to is as I was getting my sunflowers set, planting rocknuts in clusters to distract the first 3 zombies. Low and behold no other zombies come out. Finished planting 3 rows of sunflowers with the occasional rocknut. After my solar power generators where set up I started planting my flowers. I quickly had the field full and the zombies didn't past the second row. Hardly ever stressing for solar power. Easy win.

break down:
-plant 2 sunflowers
-couple rocknuts to distract
-cont. w/ sunflowers dropping the occasional nut (teehee)
-after 3 rows of sunflowers...attack.

I had plenty of power to pumpkin bomb right after it's cooldown.

The single most important thing you can do to succeed in this quest is to get your sunflowers up fast a furious. Even if that means letting some of the zombies get closer. Stop zombies with the wall flowers even before setting up your shooters but by all means, get as many sunflowers up and running as quickly as possible and this will be an easy quest.

OK, I don't care what you people say! I had 2 full rows of flowers plus spitters and a few of those vine throwing things and I still couldn't win. In fact I've followed your suggestions multiple times and DIED! DIED! DIED! 2 bloody rows of death!

I either get no sun balls or I get them all at once and cannot get them plus plant at the same time. And once the "progress" bar reaches about half, there it seems to stop. Kill, kill, kill and no closer to winning!

ARGGGGGHHHHHHH!

(prepare for wall of text for strategies)

I used the lineup that was shown in the screenshot and succeeded relatively quickly. There was a slight buildup process to it, but once it was all placed, it seemed to work like a charm. I found a few tricks.

(it is preferable to use the screeshot shown as an example of where to place your plants because the plants are shown in a very good priority this way as well as a very good line of defense to keep your sunflowers safe)

First, I placed 3 sunflowers. Around the 3rd one, I saw there were two zombies up in separate rows. I placed a rocknut in front of the one that was closest toward the house and then placed a second one in front of the other group. While they were attacking these rocknuts, I started placing more sunflowers. In total I had 5 sunflowers before the first rocknut went down. I continued refreshing rocknuts while I was placing the seeders. A trick I found, however, and not sure if this will work every time, but if you place a rock nut on both sides of the zombies on the two rows, it will distract them both long enough for you to get a full row of seeders. Place the seeders on rows where there are not zombies before putting them where the zombies will be coming.

At one point, you will have a full row of seeders, so begin putting out the freezing plants in their own row while placing a second row of sunflowers when it is off cooldown. Make priority of putting the freezing plants down where a Ghoul might be, should you have any Ghouls coming toward you before placing them on other rows. Your priority here will be to put a freezing plant where the ghoul is first and where the zombies are second, while the other spots get filled up as you see fit. After that row is filled (which should be your 4th row if you follow the screenshot) start placing a 2nd row of seeders on your 5th row. During this process you should see Warden Stillwater come out to attack. Finish placing your seeders and at this point you should now have 2 rows of sunflowers, 2 rows of seeders and one row of freezing plants in between. The plants will be your primary defense to hold off the zombies while you collect solar power to make a bombs.

When choosing where to place a bomb, keep in mind the bomb will be your primary damage against the boss. Place the bomb plant on the last row right in front of the boss and he will lose 1/4th of his life (roughly) with just the one bomb.

The boss will occasionally put poison clouds under your plants. Focus mostly on keeping your sunflowers up as they are cheap to replace, but if a freezing plant falls, replace it as well. This will help keep the zombies back to their starting position while you bomb the boss. With 4 or 5 plant bombs used on the boss, you will have your very own singing sunflower pet (not to mention a new daily).

On another note, if you decide to go back and do the quests on an alt, a trick that I learned is generally more zombies will not come until all the current zombies are killed (until you get to this specific quest). A trick would be to place your sunflowers, look for the row containing only one zombie, put a rocknut right in front of it and then place a second one behind it. The two rocknuts will taunt the zombie back and forth while you build up all of your defenses preparing for the real fight. Don't put damaging plants on that row until all the other rows are filled up. After that is done, fill that last row up and start collecting solar power and have fun.

I actually got it a lot easier, on my first try; found this one easier than the previous quest in this line to be honest;

I just set up the left row with Sunflowers,
Added the shooters where needed in the row next to that,
Adding Freezers where wanted ( eventually onto the entire 3rd row);

After that I placed 1 Vine in the middle, all the way at the zombie-spawnpoint, and
started nuking the boss with Pumpkinbombs whenever they were off cooldown;
I didn't even see an Abomination or anything, was rather faceroll.

P.S. Only thing to watch is replanting stuff when the Orange AoE &*!@ kills it off.

Can you only do this daily a few times before not being able to do it? I used to do it every day for a week since I thought it was the most fun quest ever and it gave me XP but now it doesn't even give the daily anymore. I got the sunflower and everything but why doesn't the daily pop up anymore?

Oh and i noticed strategies for killing the boss, I did what the one guy said with 2 rows of sunflowers and died. I killed the boss buy planting starting from closest to the house (left side then moving right) 3 rows of sunflowers closest, 3 rows of spitters (you could do 2 rows of spitters & 1 row of freeyza that helps slow them down) then 1 row of the plants that looks like octopus tentacles directly behind tombstones, put tombstones in the very first row in front of where the zombies spawn and keep spamming those tombstones where ever zombies destroy them & keep replanting the same plant that the boss destroyed.

Two rows of sunflowers? I went with three. Spam them at the start, set up shooters to take down the zombies when needed, when you start capping on power just add tentacles in front. By the time the boss spawns you have close to unlimited sun power and can easily put down the bomb whenever you want to as well as rebuilding anything you lose. Sigh, the comments here made me think it would be hard...

Lawn of the Dead seems to be one of the easiest of these quests to do. Also the daily for this mini-game appears to have been removed for some reason. Blizz has yet to reveal wheter this was on purpose, or accidental.

Nice game and a nice break from the "killing fields" farming for pets. Never played it or even heard of it but very fun and a great reward. This last in the series was actually the easiest with using the pumpkin bombs to drop the boss. Dropped in 2 rows of sunflowers as needed. Added a row of spitters next as zombies appeared followed by Freesia by then the boss showed up and so did the pumpkin bombs. Started dropping him and replacing flowers as needed all while grabbing as much solar as possible. Took only 4 pumpkin bombs to drop the boss.

Singing Sunflower is pretty cute especially behind a lvl 85 DPS arms Tauren warrior. lol

Sings the same song as Opehlia Montague in the bank in Undercity, Which I understand is from the original game and sung by the woman who did the music for the game. I've heard a couple other NPC's singing it as well. Must have been in the WoW top 40 at one time. lol

The stranglers keep things off your lanes even better than the rocknuts. If youre low on money, you can skip them and just keep your rocknut wall, or you could put 1 top 1 middle and 1 bot, theyll cover all the lanes for you.

Once you have a setup like this its basically sit back and just replace anything the boss nukes.

I thought that this quest was easier then the past two and it's not that hard to defeat the warden.

I used the following setup:

SF = Sunflowers
SH = Shooters
TE = Tentacles
RN = Rocknuts

SH SF SF SF TE RN RN

3 lines of sunflowers brings all the energy you need to keep everything up. They are placed in front of the shooters to buy some extra time shuld a zombie break trough. The shooters are placed on first row, since they are the last "hope" in a dire situation. Tenacles tace care of the big ones if they happen to break trough the wall of rocknuts.

Strategy:
Start out spaming SF untill first zombie spawns. Place a SH when a zombie spawns (on his line ofc), and keep spaming more SF. When second zombie spawn, place another SH. Keep this going untill first bigger zombie spawns (the ones with masks). Place a rock (RN) to stop the bigger medium zombie and then place a SH to kill him. When two rocks are damaged in a row just place one in front of them.

When you have a steady flow of sun energy (all sunflowers built) or the huge zombies show up start building the tenacle line. Tenacles are awesome against huge zombies because it keeps them from hurting your rocks.
When the boss spawns, keep your cool. Repair all damage he and his zombies does (especially on sunflowers), and when you got the energy blow a Punpkin near him. Big zombie stacks are prio 1 for the bombs though, you can always hurt the boss later but you will be in trouble if zombies damage you too much.

It can be good to keep rocknuts on cooldown.

For newbs:
Sunflowers give you energy balls. Put them in front of Spitters to protect them.
Spitters (aka. shooters) does damage. They can only hurt targets in front of them.
Freezya slows zombies. Not really usefull imo.
RockNut is the flower equivalent to a wall. Spitters can shoot through them, and tenacles can reach beyond them.
PumkinBombs are flower AoE damage (1 sqr).

I was able to 1-shot this before reading anything about it.

This will sound strange but playing this is exactly like playing Zerg in Starcraft. In the beginning part of the game, you want to make as few attacking units as you can get away with, as late as you can get away with it. Because if you don't need that attacking unit now, you can make resource gatherers instead, and when you do start to need more attacking units, you'll be able to fund them more easily.

I see people saying 2 rows of sunflowers, that seems about right, but don't build "rows" of pea shooters or freezas. Instead, just keep your solar power spent, dropping pea shooters and freezas when and where you need them, and dropping sunflowers whenever that can wait a cycle.

Disappointed to read on here that the Daily version has been removed :( i thought this was a great chain & had alot of fun with it :D Last 2 quests took quite a few tries to work out... but i nailed it in the end. Had 2 rows of Sunflowers at the back, then a row of Freezyas then a row of Tentacles in front of those. Something like this:

Did use a row of the Shooters for Part 4. but for the final "Boss" quest, getting as much Solar Power from the Sunflowers (SF) is most important to drop the Pumpkins. The Freezyas (FR) and the Tentacles (TE) buy you alot of time & found these to be more important than the Shooters for the Boss fight. And drop the Pumpkins as often as you can right near the boss, takes away good portions of his health and wipes out all nearby zombies. Most important, don't let ANY Zombies make it into the house, just 1 zombie and Brazie dies. Hope this makes some kind of sense lol, good luck and have fun to all! Was looking forward to having another go tomorrow :'(

For me the easiest way to do this was with the use of Strangle Vines.

Two rows of sunflowers, two rows of strangle vines, rock nuts out at the front hold off zeds and let me build up SP.

In the end I planted a few extra sunflowers, about three extra strangle vines and about three shooters just to use SP all the while keeping rock nuts up.

When Stillwater showed up I just stockpiled SP and kept hitting him with pumpkin bombs, that combined with the little help from my three shooters and he was gone in no time. I had to rebuild a few vines and a sunflower or two but it was pretty easy.

I tried the methods using rows of freezers and shooters but none of that worked for me.

Great quest and the creepy/cute pet was worth it. :)

Something I found rather useful was to plant a rock nut behind the zombies shortly before the one in front of them went down. Gives the shooters lots more time.

This quest is almost impossible to complete! I've tried it about 8 times now (my bf's tried about 5) and we can't beat it! Does anyone have any REALLY good tips?

This guy was so easy for me, I just did the same strategy as before. 2 rows of sunflowers, a row of spitters, row of freezers, row of rock nuts, then from there a row of the vines and I dropped about 4 pumpkin bombs and I tossed out a few other vines for the heck of it because I could.
Dropped the boss guy pretty quick and viola sunflower = mine.

Here's what worked for me against the boss. It's kinda free-form as strategy goes, but my background is military as opposed to computer games. The idea is to have as much ammo as possible and do as much damage as possible as quickly as possible

After the first sunflower, I put down a vine just off center. Then another couple sunflowers and another vine just off center to the other side. With the two vines actually killing the initial zombies wandering in, I can make it to two rows of sunflowers before having to do much else. Then I've got enough power flowing to keep everything on cd. After adding spitters and more vines I go back and add more flowers. I use rocks if I'm low on power. That usually only happens when the boss throws grenades on my flowers and I need to re-plant them. The only constant is setting the boss up the bomb. (We all know what Blizz is referencing... right?)

And remember to have your fingers over the numbers to make plants. If you can't beat this, then you're probably clicking to choose the plant to make. Just a guess.

For any of you that the other tutorials on here didn't work... Well, I kind of mixed together some of the ones on this site and some from others and made my own way... which I also advise you to do because everything doesn't always work for everybody... but I'll share how I did it... (Lawn of the Dead, but it can still probably help with previous quests) As a really recent version, if there was any changes to this, which I'm sure there has been since the last update on this page...

S - Sunflower
P - Spitter
F - Freezya
T - Tentacle
+ - Blank Space

First, as has already been said, you set up a few sunflowers, temporarily disregarding any zombies... Now, you won't be able to get many down before zombies start showing up.. I worried a bit at first but you shouldn't worry, just get one tentacle right in the middle of the field, three spaces away from the first row of sunflowers in the middle... That will grab all the advancing zombies for the moment... then keep setting sunflowers up until you covered the whole far-left column. Eventually you will also fill the column right next to that with sunflowers, so leave those spaces empty. You will also have to put up some more tentacles eventually... I started to set the plants up in a pattern like this:

the reason the far left columns should be left empty is 1.) if you set things in the far right column, the quest will glitch, and 2.) the boss throws gas in the first 2 or 3 columns that instantly kills the plants (he also sometimes throws sand stuff that slowly kills random plants in the whole field. Be ready to replant the dying plants. But also, a green orb appears on the ground as if it were solar energy.. and if you click it, it lessens the cooldown of the plants...) The main goal here is to keep gathering solar energy until you get up to 40%, and then set a pumpkin bomb right next to the boss, which damages him significantly. Keep all the plants up, and keep gathering energy, and keep setting pumpkin bombs, and you'll have to boss down in no time. It's important to replace the sunflowers as quickly as possible, though, so you'll have a steady flow of solar energy.. Also feel free to place a rocknut or two elsewhere when you see fit. Remember you can be flexible with this; you don't have to follow it exactly. You can change some things or just use mine as an example and come up with your own... It doesn't matter, as long as it works. lol..

Quest Glitching or Unable to Complete?

During both the Ghouls Hate My Grains and Someone Setup the Pumpkin Bomb, the quest glitched and didn't mark the completion of the second wave of zombies. No more zombies arrived and it would continue to allow me to build. I was forced to abandon the quests multiple times. I read in a comment of a comment that you should leave the right lane empty and it fixed the glitch. Leaving this far right column empty prevented the quest from glitching.

If your quest is glitching and not completing - don't put anything in the column immediately in front of the zombies.

For this round i just made sure that i had a few sunflowers to start with on the second row, then gradually added spitters to the back row as i needed them, and completed one row of sunflowers between. then i put in a rocknut in the middle of the third row and gradually added frasiers to the fourth row as and when i needed them, while filling the rest of the third row with sunflowers. After this, the warden came and i saved any energy for the pumpkin bombs as they really did help to kill him.

DONT FORGET:
when a zombie gets to the end of a length ONCE, it sets of the mower which kills everything (including your plants) in that one length. This did come in very handy with this. Please dont forget that the mower only goes off once for each length, so you have five chances throughout the round.

The simplest way to figure out how to beat this is to simply view the screenshot posted here and do what it shows there. Two rows of sunflowers closest to the house followed by one row each of spitters and freezya's. While you're building up your rows of sunflowers, spitters and freezya's, throw down rocknuts to block any incoming undead while you build your rows. Once your done building your defenses throw down pumpkin bombs to destroy Stillwater. Replace any of your plants that are destroyed by Stillwater! Good luck!

Initial Cata Classic release, Warden Stillwater isn't spawning. Instead its been endless waves of zombies for 20 minutes (have done this 3 times). This last quest seems bugged for me.

Classic Cata, the quest seemed bugged and I kept restarting it over and over. As others have mentioned, the zombies stopped spawning.

Then I disabled all addons and the quest worked like a charm.
