Unless you fish up junk, you have a 100% chance to fish up the Hardened Walleye.

With my 450 fishing main it was 100% catch, so i decided to try it with a new fishing alt.

Starting at 1/75 with no lure he didn't catch a walleye until 28, then 39, 44, 47, 49, 51, 54, 55 (i then threw my stack back to keep recording), 56, 57, 62, 63, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74... at this point it became 100% catch rate.

I figure at 70ish it becomes 100% as that is also when i stopped catching trash in the respective body of water.

These can also be caught in the lake north of the Cathedral where you fish for Gigantic Catfish to complete the fishing quest A Fisherman's Feast. Thought it was nice to do two quests at once. You can even get both quest items at the same throw.

To catch this make sure your minimap reads "Stormwind Lake" otherwise you will not catch them. Spent 10 minutes fishing by the little dock besides the cathedral and didn't catch a single one, later noticed it's part of "The Canals" : /

Just got this quest on my Priest for the first time. My fishing skill was lvl 1. I added a +25 Shiny Bauble and got my first one at lvl 3 +25 my second was at 12 my 3rd was at 22 and at 26 I started getting one every cast. Went from 26 to 31. All of the casts were with a +25 Lure. And like everyone else stated, if you get junk you wont get the Walleye.

I started at level 1 fishing, got my first one at 26 and last one at 58.
I would assume that you can start catching them at 25 and it turns into a 100% catch chance around 100/150/200?

Interesting thing, I was fishing on the docks in the south shores of the lake (reading The Canals) and I got the Walleyes only sometimes (not fishing any junk of course), so I guess it doesn't really matter where your character is standing, what matters is where the bobber drops (giving you the Walleye when it drops in the lake, and not giving it when dropping in the canals).

For me, as of Patch 4.0.6, Walleyes do NOT always drop 100% when a fish (e.g. Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper, Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish) is caught. However, the drop rate is still very high. I was fishing from the eastern bank of the lake.

To update, I was catching fish starting at level 30 every 6-8 casts. I could scroll my log and give you exact stats, but you might as well spend the 10 minutes skilling up some.

Once I hit 50 I began catching one every other cast, so if your new to fishing, you might as well cast to 50 and get it done.

Doesn't start dropping in significant numbers until fishing skill level 50. I started at fishing skill level 1, and only got 2 from 1-50.

The https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=57245 your catch for can also be fished right along with the https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=58503. First time I got them both at same time, took a total of 15 cast at fishing lvl 525 with a 75 lure cloak/pole bonus of 35. I sure the fishing skill I was using was over kill, but fishin in SW is borring.

Thank you Skinkles I had to look it up online because i was sitting there fishing (also started with a skill of 1) and didn't get any fish until 50. Then i got them all before 70.
