Stamina is actually really useful on trinkets as you'll most likely hit avoidance/mitigation caps with the rest of your gear anyway. As a pally tank, I always wear a Stamina trinket and a Mastery trinket as base setup. I will certainly be getting this trinket!

Read carefully: The extra dodge effect is activated by chance by your melee attacks, in difference to most previous trinkets. It means that:

it helps to conserve healer mana throughout the whole fight, as it effectively reduces incoming damage every 45 sec for 20 sec
it might be activated while another tank gets hit and you don't take any damage at all … and might be on CD while you get hit again, rendering the proc effect worthless in that fight
it could of course happen that it doesn't proc while you're getting hit really hard and need some extra avoidance to avoid your own death – in comparison to "if your life drops below" trinkets, that is
even if the proc "fails" the trinket provides lots of stamina; you still could ignore the proc effect if you just need extra life

Keep that in mind and equip wisely ;)

One thing to consider is the fact that holy shield no longer increases your chance to block by 20%, it now increases the amount that your shield blocks by 20%. Pre 4.3 with holy shield up I had 112% mitagation, but now I only have 92%. Since holy shield increases the amount blocked you need to stack mastery even more than before. I picked this up on my prot paly, but I will probably replace it with a mastery one once I get into DS. P.S. like biorpg said the mirror of broken images is a must for boss fights.

When the trinket procs you will be surrounded with a black swarm of bugs and also plays the associated sound effect.

This trinket could mess with your mind when your pvp'ing, so watch out :)

With a 45second icd and 20% proc rate it would proc once every 58seconds on average.

So its up for 10/29 of the time. At 15% dodge it would give 4.49% dodge. So on average the proc gives 1.55% avoidance. That means its equivalent to 375 always on dodge rating for damage reduction purposes.

Avoidance DOES get better the more of it you have. Although the amount you actually receive per point of rating (Diminishing returns) may drop, the VALUE of each % is drastically better than the previous % in terms of conserving healer mana, which is the main reason for avoidance in the first place. There is an old thread on Elitistjerks that can prove this, but its an easy enough concept to understand. Going from 10% avoidance to 11% avoidance does not conserve healers mana too much, you will still b receiving most of the attacks thrown at you, and healers will continue to use less efficient heals in order to keep you up quickly. But the value of 40% to 41% is a big difference, even though the rating it took to get there is huge. Each additional % at higher values means more time for healers to top you off, saving their mana considerably by using more efficient spells. This is similar to the way health works, but creates a less "spongy" tank.

This is also why it is currently recommended for tanks who have two avoidance stats (parry/dodge) to balance the two, but to continue favoring them as your secondary stat after mastery. (Although the argument for parry on warriors due to Hold The Line will change this balance to favor parry slightly.)

As a Druid, you will receive plenty of stamina from higher ilvl gear and through bear form. To become a better (read: harder to hit) tank, you'll need to stack the stats that increase avoidance. These are Dodge, Mastery, and Crit. The most favorable piece for a druid tank will be leather with stam, agi, dodge, and mastery already on it. When making the decision between a leather piece with dodge/haste or dodge/crit, the latter will be your best bet by reforging crit into mastery. Crit increases the occurrence of your self-shields significantly more than haste does, while mastery increases the potency of the shield, and dodge decreases the likelihood of being hit. With higher gear levels, you are looking at a bear who dodges most of the bosses attacks, with a strong shield ready for that string of unlucky hits when you don't dodge. Your health pool does not NEED additional stamina, but it is not a wasted stat either. (Note: Fresh gearing tanks should look to achieve a reasonable amount of stamina to survive certain fight mechanics.)

As for Veil of Lies, this is a great trinket for all tanks due to the high up-time of the proc, as well as the stamina for increased healer efficiency and mechanic survival, as well as Vengeance for threat (although threat isn't really needed anymore).

Best in slot trinket for pre-raiding tanks. This along with Moonwell Phial make going in to LFR and 10 mans a LOT easier for you.

Drop rate nerfed? ... I had no issues getting this on my war & Dk but after 24 Archbishop kills on my pally I have STILL not seen it drop. Maybe it's just bad luck .... if so hope my luck turns ... anyone got it lately?

EDIT: Why down rate ... I am questioning if the drop rate is nerfed and warning people that likely you will be farming a lot to get this unless you are extremely lucky. 32nd Archbishop kill it dropped for me.
