These are listed on maxdps.com to be a little bit better than FSW and a little worse than both of the new badge reward robes if socketed correctly and the new badge reward robes are 100 badges.

That depends highly on the stats that you already have. For example, if you're below the hit cap and gem these with +8hit or 5dmg/4hit, then these are definitely going to be better than the crit robes from badges and worse than the hit robes. If you only need a little hit to cap, than these with hit gems will probably pull ahead of the hit robes. If you're easily hit capped elsewhere, then the crit robes with damage or haste gems are easily going to win out.

I believe with hitted cap rating for a lock, 3x12 spelldmg gems will make this far more superiour then anything out there.

I think its even better then Archimonde robes!

Had it not been this 5-man is tricky to finish even with a good group in Normal mode, with players that has 50/50 lvl 70 blues and epic gear. Can't imagine how hard it must be in Heroic mode, guess you all need to be at least "Kara geared" to finish it.

Just a remark,

https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=21848 is still much better than this robe.

by breaking the Spellfire set you loose alone 21 spell (fire) damage from the robe and an additional 7% spell damage from the bonus set (a decent mage has @ 400 int self buffed=additional 28 spell damage).

Just considering the damage loss/win (not considering the set bonuses couse thry realy don't matter if you want to max dps with the usual +9 spell damage sockets):

==> you loose 49 spell damage
==> you win a red socket (+9 spell damage spell socket)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
= by keeping the Spellfire Set you are still 40 spell damage advantaged
= Spellfire set is only worth breaking (overall) if your upgrade manages to recover the bonus set spell damage.

Yeah if by worse you mean better in every area except +dmg. Counting the broken setbonus is idiotic unless you're going to assume that everyone who's taking this robe is still wearing the other 2 pieces of spellfire, which is unlikely, and not counting it the crit rating from this alone makes it better than spellfire, before even counting the second gem.

For Hordies, Thrallmar Tabard matches this perfectly. I searched Wowhead for all the tabards, saw this, tried it on, and bought it immediately. After going from a dark black robe to this red one, my old tabard just looked awful. Having a good looking one goes leagues making me feel more comfortable wearing this robe.

These robes show off your tummy if you play a female character, whereas your midriff remains covered if you're playing a male character. :)

These vs Tormented Demonsoul robes When both are socketed with epic gems (matching sockets):

Sin'dorei robes with:
Glowing shadowsong amethyst
Potent Pyrestone
Runed Crimson Spinel

38 stamina
22 intellect
+80 damage
+41 crit

Tormented Demonsoul robes with:
Potent Pyrestone

39 stamina
38 intellect
+70 damage
+55 crit

Effectively you have 10 damage vs 14 crit. Demonsoul wins, as 14 crit is about equal to 10 damage, but you have increased mana pool, mana efficiency and a slight bit more crit from the 16 intellect.

Mind you, if I had scarlet sin'dorei robes, I'd spend the badges on something else.

Close enough to the badgechest for you to save those badges for something else like the ring. The lack of sta on spellfire/FSW is a major drawback once you hit tier 6 and doesn't help you in kara or tier 5 either.

+6 all stats enchant really makes a difference with these robes. It took me almost 10 runs for these to drop but it was worth all the effort I put in.

To give everyone an idea how good these robes truly are, I regemmed them when I leveled my JC with perfect green (northrend) gems. They literally lasted me until level 80, which I then replaced with https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=43401 from HEROIC VH because I really needed the hit to raid.

My next robes? A lucky run (intelligence really helped my lock out here, knowing fights, w/e) then netted me https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=40423. True story.

So, since level 70 I have changed robes TWICE. Also, its important to note that anything with sockets in it has great power, since you can put gems of any level into them. These are worth getting for any caster, as a few green northrend gems will make this piece of armor a keeper until heroics.

So this robe is dps-wise, about 25% better than the ZA Robe - though it looked way prettier :(

p.s. Spellhit is just that effective until the hitcap of 202 (or 164 for mages with 3/3 elemental precision) but i calculated it full since you can change hit equip for more spelldmg/crit stuff, when you get hit on new pieces

Really great robe in the eyes of me as a mage. Compared to my Spellfire Robe this one has more intellect and stamina, more spellcrit, better socket bonus and three gem slots. Can't wait to lay my hands on this robe (Even tho it looks horrible)
